I am feeling a bit depressed - I have kept myself in (fairly) good shape but now everything seems to be heading south and I am damned if I can do a thing about it. Please give me advice or at lest reassurance that it's not just me sad

No, eccentricity is more like avoiding wearing a red hat because it could be as much a "uniform" as the beige crimplene we are trying to escape.

Exactly! And I'm pretty sure Anya wasn't including such societies when she referred to eccentricity.
