Hi stansgran it happens to me too whether I am going through a difficult time or not, for no apparent reason. Sometimes it's just the person's "achingly beautiful" voice that sets me off. I wrote on here awhile ago about how I "had a little greet" in the middle of the street once because a young busker sang 'You raise me up".

Yep,me too. Can not listen to the music of Les Miserable in the car,can't stop myself from sobbing. Also Moon Riber as it reminds me of my Dad.

A Welsh male voice choir could sing the alphabet and I'd well up.

Love is a many splendid thing, I cry my eyes out every time I watch this film with the same title.

I can't listen to Bright Eyes, Dedicated to the One I Love or For the Good Times without crying.

I don't usually cry at songs but when I hear The Living Years by Mike and the Mechanics I get a lump in my throat.

I appreciate music ( all kinds) and listen to it all the time, but don't have any 'special' songs that would make me feel tearful.

Not a song but 'Sunset' played by the Royal Marines always brings tears to my eyes.
