Ye Gods! the howling wind!

Here in North East it is windy and wet, but not gale force.

The wind's giving me a headache. I live in Wiltshire and it's shrieking through the woods behind the house, the plastic patio chair has blown the length of the garden.
Earlier there were wheelie bins all over the road and a Portaloo for the workmen doing the roads had blown over it's just dawned on me 4 hours later that one of them might have been in it oops!
The rain earlier actually blew through my umbrella, I was completely soaked in about 3 minutes. I hope my long boots dry out , there were deep puddles everywhere.

It's awful - I really hate strong winds and gales!! Makes me feel very uneasy...

Horrible here on the Fens as well. Candles and gas lamps at the ready just in case.

I was supposed to be going to choir over the border in S Wales but have chickened out as there are branches all over the roads. I always feel nervous when the winds are like this as the house chimney is above our bed!

It's just picking up in Kent. It's not been too bad until about an hour ago.
SE is supposed to get the worst of it over night.
Hope everyone's property stays safe.

Its picked up in the last half hour in West London, there are big trees in the park at the bottom of the garden that are swaying perilously.. it does make me uneasy too.

Really picking up here in the North West and like all of you it makes me uneasy and not a little scared

Bugger Blasted Barney! I thought it was a comforting name until today!

It was dead still all day here in Norfolk until mid afternoon when it started to get a bit breezy.. The wind is now whistling in the chimney and making the fire roar and the Scots pine outside is starting to look like the Womping Willow. It's too big, too close to the house and overhangs the road. But has a preservation order on it. I think tonight it may do a bit of self pruning!

On the SW Scottish coast at the moment! Everything is rattling. Still nice and cosy inside!

In the South London suburbs it's blowy but not on a grand scale. Yet. I just walked my 3 yr old grandson home - 5 minutes away - and he said it was monsters making noises so we laughed about that. Oh I can hear the wind in the chimney now. Fingers xd for everyone's safety, wherever you are

The wind is beginning to pick up in west Northumberland, and it's raining quite heavily. It's to be at it's height here at about midnight. I hope I will sleep through it.

Well.I'm a bundle of nerves tonight what with the scary wind and the stuff on the news. Always afraid the big chimney stack will blow down onto my bed (with me in it))

Very scary winds here in the West Midlands. There are bins rolling down the street and our windows are rattling

The wind is picking up here in NW London but as somebody said, the worst is going to hit us during the night. I hope that I have fences and a shed, not to mention garden furniture.

conifers outside bent double,windows n doors rattling ,wind whistling around here in west Norfolk

Calm here in Newcastle but had heavy rain earlier, could be the calm before the storm.

Pretty blustery here in Colchester but still warm.

Even worse now in Cambridgeshire. We had a ten minute power cut and amazingly, just as we were about to retire to bed with the battery radio, our Kindles and a bottle of wine it came back on again.
