soop gave me a key so her you are, folks, the new extension. Plate of crumbly oatcakes on the side there with the coffee and tea pots.

Alea Mon 21-Dec-15 21:42:46

Oops and one more of the bride!! Got to stop now.

Charleygirl Mon 21-Dec-15 22:22:54

Lovely photos Alea you must be proud of your 3 DDs.
Is Grace home yet?

Galen you must pace yourself with the sports as well as the alcohol or you will be worn out. You will be pleased to hear that the weather is warm here even although we were nearly washed away this afternoon.

soop Tue 22-Dec-15 13:58:42

Alea Your three daughters are beautiful. As are all the photos so far. US lot want a pic of you in your finery. Continue to enjoy your special break-away.

Galen What are you like? One very spirited lady (in more ways than one!) It's also sunny here in bonnie Kintyre. A frisky sea...so I won't be taking a dip today. Thank you for updating us. You know how we fret whenever you're let loose on the high seas. wink

I've been with the ladies in the care home. They managed to scoff nibble their way through a box of Quality Street. Wrappers strewn everywhere. M now has a new scarf (with her name on the
label) which replaces the one that went missing the day after her birthday. Another resident was wearing the original. M made a great show of fussing with her new scarf. The expressions exchanged between M and D spoke volumes.

32° here today and brilliant blue skies! I'm in los palmos

soop Tue 22-Dec-15 16:24:48

MacSporran has finished assembling Tortoiseshell cat's wee kennel. It looks very smart. She has a warm, dry cabin in which to eat her meals (and possibly sleep.) He omitted to add the bone decoration for over the doorway. Thought that a cat might be offended by such a trivial thing. Rory has taken a fleeting interest in the new abode. He didn't go right in...merely stood and peered through the entrance. Turned around and sauntered through the open door to his house...and went straight to his feather-filled cushion. tchgrin

Galen Tue 22-Dec-15 16:25:15

That's the view from my balcony

soop Tue 22-Dec-15 16:27:50

Galen A tad cooler here. Campbeltown has palm trees. Continue to enjoy yourself. Us lot like to hear all the gossip. tchgrin

Crafting Tue 22-Dec-15 21:11:12

Alea lovely photos. What pretty daughters. Why not one of you?

Galen glad you are having such a lovely time. We are not in the least bit envious. I've just gone this tchenvy funny colour because I've been eating too much!

Charleygirl Tue 22-Dec-15 21:46:02

Galen wot- only 32C? We have warm days at 15C here. You appear to be enjoying yourself - is there an alcoholic haze in front of your eyes?! Have a lovely rest and enjoy the food and attention.

Galen Wed 23-Dec-15 10:18:05

??????!

loopylou Wed 23-Dec-15 10:44:51

tchconfused Is the sea really going uphill Galen? tchgrin
Sounds wonderful to me, sunny here but definitely not that warm!

Clearly you're having a great time, just what you need x

Charleygirl Wed 23-Dec-15 12:12:07

Sunny in NW London and it feels like spring outside. I do not intend to leave my house now for many days.

soop Wed 23-Dec-15 14:09:35

Wickedly windy in bonnie Kintyre. We are awaiting one heck of a storm later today.

Kitten spent the night asleep in her new cabin. She was, at first, mesmerised by the new home. She plucked up the courage to take a bite of her supper and progressed from thereon. I'm hoping to take a photograph later today. She is away in the forest right now.

I've done the weekly ironing for my pal. My back is complaining. I'm therefore going to sit in a comfortable chair and tackle the crossword. tchsmile

Charleygirl Wed 23-Dec-15 14:34:00

I think that is such a lovely idea providing a home for Rory's daughter. I know that he would not allow her to put a paw over his doorstep but at least she will now be protected from the worst of the weather.

soop- you and MacSporran will be up all night holding on to the house roof, judging from windy weather in your neck of the woods.

soop Wed 23-Dec-15 15:47:48

Charleygirl Oh, you're so right. The wind is most definitely picking up speed. MacSporran is going to lay cushion floor on to the polystyrene base of Kitten's new abode. Then there will be clean newspapers (daily) and a rug (washed weekly.) Keep warm and stay safe. x

Galen Wed 23-Dec-15 17:12:27

Keep your windy weather up there! I don't want it in the Bay of Biscay coming home thank You!

whitewave Wed 23-Dec-15 18:33:04

It does look lovely galen Where you be on Christmas Day?

Nelliemoser Wed 23-Dec-15 18:44:20

As we are in the soop kitchen and Soop is good at drawing animals I will show you the little water colour my big sister did of her grandaughters little dog.
Soop has a lot more experience but I am right proud of my sisters effort.

My sister has been doing classes for a few years now but never showed any signs of artistic endeavour when she was young. I am well impressed by her efforts.
I think the artistic gene well and truly passed me buy.

Nelliemoser Wed 23-Dec-15 18:46:16

Galen! You were clearly listing a bit there.

Galen Thu 24-Dec-15 11:14:29

I will be between Gran Canaria and Lisbon on Xmas. Day . Lisbon Boxing Day then two sea days home!sad

Bellanonna Thu 24-Dec-15 11:36:15

Nellie, that's a really cute painting by your sister.
Galen, we did that route a couple of months ago. Brace yourself for The Bay, though I think you said you don't mind it
Soop, have a lovely Christmas in your beautiful homestead, surrounded by family and friends and a few wee warming drams. "See" you after Christmas.

Alea Thu 24-Dec-15 12:36:42

Blew a hooley all last night down here in Somerset, but bright sunshine and blue skies now DDs and SILs have taken the kids off to Lyme to let off steam while DH who had a dreadful night and I chill in this beautiful lodge snug as bugs in rugs!
A happy Christmas to you all and those whom you love. If you have burdens or cares, I hope you gain comfort and remember that us lot are here for you. xxx

Luckygirl Thu 24-Dec-15 13:38:07

There's posh - enjoy! Ir was when all the holiday cottages that we went to were immensely superior to our own house that OH and I decided to have a new kitchen with mouse defences!

We are just about to set off to our DDs to spend the night and tomorrow. Wish me lots of luck as I gird up my loins to tolerate a racist bigot of an in-law tomorrow - he always has to be the centre of attention and gains this by loud-mouthed schoolboy humour, and racist digs. Not the time to challenge him at Christmas, so I will bite my tongue as always! The GC are all lovely though and I will divert my attention towards them. Deep breath!!!

Happy Christmas to all, especially to those on their own or with illnesses to cope with themselves or in their loved ones. tchsmile

soop Thu 24-Dec-15 15:14:57

Nellie I think that the dog portrait is an absolute winner. VERY well done to your sister. She has a great deal of natural talent. The style is delightful. flowers

Alea Such a smart and cosy looking lodge. I love the kitchen. Us lot send our warm good wishes to you and those you love.

Luckygirl Ignore the racist bigot (if you can) such people are rather tiresome at any time...especially so on festive occasions. Enjoy the rest of the family gathering.

Thank you Bellanonna Our family remain in their own homes at this time of the year. We talk on the phone and we know that they each member enjoys the festive season in their own way. We'll be with a group of local pals over the three days. Not all day...for about four hours, after which we return to our peaceful home to relax in front of the fire and to listen to some beautiful music. Simple pleasures...can't beat
them.

Galen Our sea is choppy. I haven't caught sight of the ferry. Us lot send love to you. Try not to upset the staff. We wouldn't wish you to have to walk the plank as you bob around the Bay of Biscay.

I hope that every one of our Granspal Kitcheners enjoys some part of Christmas and that you remain free from germs and too much unnecessary stress. This too shall pass...tchsmile

If I was still married today would be my something or other wedding anniversary. Even though it all went pear shaped we had a good innings.
