Yesterday's post re antibiotics seems to have been beset by iPad predictive spelling gremlins.
If anybody noticed, I meant Ciprofloxacin -not what my iPad thought I meant to say!!

I read it as that anyway Alea. I know it well !! I often find when someone goes "oops" I look back and realise I hadn't even registered their typo. I think our brains are good at rearranging things as we go along.

What do I think? I think that you lovely lot are utterly amazing. You have helped to lift my sagging spirits. I often bless the day that I joined Gransnet.

I'm taking Trimethoprim this time. The drop-bot is one buggeration. The cystocele is another. As doctor says...it's two separate "saggynesses"...both started going awol after the hysterectomy. Hey ho, as bags would say. I shall persevere. It's what we do.

We've been to the care home and was able to sit with our pal and the lady from the village who arrived last evening. She had such a severe stroke that it was touch and go whether to take her off the life support machine. She had a living will, but had not signed it. I really am amazed that she has survived and is walking with the aid of a zimmer frame. We are now waiting to hear that our neighbour is about to join them. One lady has recently been discharged and is receiving care in her own home. Bless me...now she wants to go back into the care home. She was happier there. I imagine that one can feel part of a larger community when in care. She now feels isolated. The carers can only spare so much time with her.

Bellasnana Please be sure that us lot care about you. Please offload if it helps to ease the pressure. When is it that you will be moving into your new home?

Alea The vet must have done a first class job on Grace's tail. Bless her. Hopefully she's over the worst. She is a beautiful girl.

I'm about to empty the washing machine. I also have a pile of ironing to get through. I would so love to be able to watch some tennis but we haven't a smart television with endless channels.

We nearly ended up spending our retirement in the Scottish Highlands. We had a stone cottage in Dalwhinnie for several years, but chickened out eventually because of the weather and short winter days. Went to SW France instead .
But the Scottish scenery on a fine day still beats it all .

TriciaF Hello again. It's lovely to have you call into the kitchen. I believe that we've been to Dalwhinnie...if not, why does it seem familiar? Maybe it has featured on television.

TizLiz I meant to add that I'm pleased to hear that Tores has had the endoscopy. Not a pleasant procedure but essential for ruling out tumours. The funeral will I'm sure be well attended and properly supervised to your husband's satisfaction. It is best that you remain with Tores. I'm sending you a comforting hug. Please keep us lot updated.

Dalwhinnie is at the north end of Loch Ericht in Inverness-shire.
There's a famous distillerie - they even sell their whisky in our nearest market town!

Our pal has three Pomeranians. They are sweet, but terribly vocal. If one starts to yap, the others join in. Many an ironing session has been accompanied by the three dogs singing from different hymn sheets.

My son recommended that I read 'A Whole Life' written by Robert Seethaler. I've already recommended it to bags. I'm certain that many of our Granspals would also find it a delightful, heart-warming wee novel

I am so "in the mood" that I needed to tell you twice.

I'm interested to hear that you have a septic tank, Soops. I've often wondered, when watching programmes about the Scottish islands, if they have mains drainage, and thought probably not.
We have a sort of septic tank and have had warnings that "it must be updated", but we can't afford it. And it seems to work (fingers crossed) so what's the point. We have it emptied now and again, costs about £150.

Well the results or rather the non-results are back from Torres's biopsy. They can't see anything because he is so inflamed. He has not eaten for two days now. He is going to have a steroid injection later but if he has not eaten by Monday he will have to be put down. He can't survive at 2/3rds of his normal weight (he was always very slim anyway). Don't think we will have any more dogs when they have all gone I can't cope with the pain.
Sorry to upset anyone, we will survive and we have had him for 8 lovely years. He is a little darling, unlike the youngest dog who is a right s*d.
I will go away now before I upset everyone. Sorry to anyone who can't understand that dogs are part of the family.
