Feeling ridiculously happy.

Many of you will know my son is autistic. He goes to a computer course on a Wednesday and is usually home by 3.30pm. I've just texted him to make sure he's ok.
Reply was "Yeah sorry, we're in the pub"
Such a simple thing but as he never gets out and has no friends, I'm so pleased for him.

What brilliant news nina, you must feel so proud of him. My son has had problems and worked hard at being more outgoing and getting some friends in the last couple of years. Before that he stayed in his room, depressed for about 2 years. I was out of my mind. Before that I home schooled him because he was assaulted 5 times in year 7.

So I am so pleased for you as I know how hard it is to stand by and watch them have no social life and find things difficult. Well done to all. smile

What lovely news for you, we all like to feel that we belong. Sadly it's harder for some than for others and it just makes your heart ache to watch someone you love struggling to find friendship and acceptance. I hope things continue to go well for your son xx

I am so wishing the same for a close family member not same problem ,but equally isolating.
You have given me a lttle bit of hope back
