Many of you will know my son is autistic. He goes to a computer course on a Wednesday and is usually home by 3.30pm. I've just texted him to make sure he's ok.
Reply was "Yeah sorry, we're in the pub"
Such a simple thing but as he never gets out and has no friends, I'm so pleased for him.

That is lovely news nina. These are the simple things that we all take for granted, but they're just so special for people like your son. smile

Bless his heart. I hope he has a super time. My DGD is only 9 and has all that to come yet.

How lovely for him to be doing such a completely normal thing, something most of us take for granted.

Hope it's just the first of many pub outings for him. smile

Yes we do take for granted what we expect. So happy for you both Nina baby steps but such an important one.

Regalo Wed 04-May-16 21:15:28

Brilliant..and also that he can recognise your slight anxiety by starting his text with 'sorry'. To my mind , a huge step.
