Welcome to the GN Olympics

Please state which event/s you are competing in

Please ensure you are drug free grin

NemosMum Fri 05-Aug-16 13:59:03

Mouse and Wilma, I think you've disqualified yourselves from the Procrastination event by replying to this thread! I'm good at procrastinating, but I'm only a talented amateur wink

maryeve Fri 05-Aug-16 14:26:41

I am definately up for water sports ...from the moment I turn the tap on and the speed I can get to the loo puts me up for a medal.reckon Tena would sponsor me for sure...for those little 'accidents'!!!

Jayh Fri 05-Aug-16 14:42:21

I have my sample ready for the drugs test. Who do I send it to? It took me ages to fill the litre bottle. Should I have used a funnel?

Casawan Fri 05-Aug-16 14:53:38

The totally knackered recovery event - an easy to enter race to see who is the first to recover enough to rise from the settee where you've collapsed after an eight hour shift with young dgdtrs.

Charleygirl Fri 05-Aug-16 14:56:36

Jayh send it to me and I will exchange it for one of my neighbour's samples- he is 8 so is definitely drug free whereas I am 100% that you are not.

narrowboatnan Fri 05-Aug-16 15:14:29

I do hope my entry is not too late. I'd like to enter for the King Size Duvet Wrestling competition. I've been practising hard, and in a confined space too (narrow boats aren't know for their spaciousness). I'm a certain Gold Medalist by now

Love the rest of the entries, btw. Certainly gave us a laugh today.

Oh, can I also enter DH in the 'Wind Surfing' event? He's been practicing for years wink

WilmaKnickersfit Fri 05-Aug-16 15:30:16

NemosMum posting on here is what I do when I'm supposed to be doing something else, so I hope to get a medal in Procrastination. grin

In addition to being the Official Cocktail Tester (highly recommend the Fosbury Flop BTW wink), I don't mind volunteering for the position of Official Cake Tester. cupcake

EEJit Fri 05-Aug-16 16:16:58

I'll go for the mid-morning tea and toast event.

nannypiano Fri 05-Aug-16 17:41:49

with short term memory loss, I would forget which event I had entered .....

sucraft Fri 05-Aug-16 18:23:05

Weight lifting - sorry, that should read WEED lifting!

GandTea Fri 05-Aug-16 18:28:45

Wind surfing could now be included. The water skiing has been canceled as they could not find a sloping lake. However wet suits will have to be modified, standard ones just puff up at the ankles.

camlyn Fri 05-Aug-16 19:02:20

OMG I've not laughed so much in ages. This has made me feel so much better

Rosina Fri 05-Aug-16 19:09:55

I'm up for the Deaf Old Bat medal - how many times can you ask someone to repeat what they just said before they punch you? -

Witzend Fri 05-Aug-16 19:19:15

Rapid book reading while simultaneously consuming tea.
I have been practising hard for many years.

Sheilasue Fri 05-Aug-16 19:32:28

I doing the ankle turner in the chair with a vodka and lime with soda water, well turning your ankles is hard work

Disgruntled Fri 05-Aug-16 19:37:40

I'm hoping for Gold in Displacement Activities.

fiorentina51 Fri 05-Aug-16 19:41:34

Grandtea, you will be pleased to know that my husband has been in training for years and has already achieved a personal best in the afternoon nap sessions. We have high hopes for a gold medal this year.?

GandTea Fri 05-Aug-16 19:56:56

Just to give you some idea of the standard the sycro snoring team need to reach, plenty of training needed.

Rosina grin
However, you may only get silver as DH is heading for gold.

Charleygirl I am happy to join you, however, you may win the gold (I'm hoping for silver!!)
because AlieOxon I am struggling to get my knee brace off at night.

annifrance I am not event attempting to compete with you
(threading needles without spectacles? and getting on a horse without falling straight off the other side?? shock

anniebach infamy, infamy at last infamy for me
grin well, I think I may have won that at school

Eddie the Eagle seems a very nice man, he was on our local news. And in fact, we should be in awe of him because he might not have won gold, but he should get a gold for sheer guts, courage and determination against all the odds!!

As we all should!

Gold for anyone determined to have a go!

Jalima Fri 05-Aug-16 20:06:01

even?
still attempting the spelling event

Jalima Fri 05-Aug-16 20:06:39

This thread is hilarious grin

LullyDully Fri 05-Aug-16 20:21:44

D H is entering the giving advice that is probably not needed , after all these years, event . I shall enter the keeping my temper event.

Jalima Fri 05-Aug-16 20:26:10

Well, I should be able to enter the 'hurry up' race after all these years of being told 'fgs hurry up'.

I am going to enter 'how many times to go back into the house because I forgot my specs, my list, my umbrella, my mac' race. It is a kind of obstacle race for wives, husbands sit in the car swearing. You have to pick up a different object each time.

Jalima Fri 05-Aug-16 20:27:57

ps husbands or OH are exempt even when they forget to take their best clothes for an important event and have to go out and buy more.

pollyperkins Fri 05-Aug-16 20:57:03

I could definitely enter that one Jalima! OH has been practising the sitting in car swearing impatiently too!
