Hotel pornography

Just stayed at 4 start hotel for Mrs P 70th birthday. I was shocked (and I don't shock easily) that they offered hard pron films on their hotel TV menu. I am well aware that such films are easily available via the internet. but would not have expected such extreme films to be openly offered on a hotel TV. The films were as bad as any I have seen on the internet. Even children would have been able to see their content, if not the actual film. I guess that some couples enjoy such titillation to enhance their experience. I have seen similar options in hotels in Holland and Germany, but never here before. Before you ask, NO, we did not watch them.

We've just booked a break in our favourite hotel - not in London either! I'll check the porn when we get there!

Jbf there are many fantastic hotels outside London. I'm sorry you don't seem to have heard of them. Of course most of them don't have to run spam email campaigns to attract business.

You are a wind up merchant wb. I am so glad you found BBC1 wink.

Eureka !!!! I have just realised, this Hotel hosts a lot of weddings, one on both the nights we stayed. These films are obviously intended as instructional purposes for the newly weds. grin

I have to agree that I have never seen such films available in Premier Inns or Travelodge, or at Warners Hotel (which are only for adults)

I did not have to search for them, inorder to get into the normal TV channels you had to go via a menu, one of the options was for Adult Films. I did. out of curiosity, click on that, it was then that I was shocked by the very explicit descriptions on the films on offer, at that point I went back to BBC1.

I have to say that the hotel, which was not in London, was of an outstanding standard, as good as any I have stayed in Worldwide, and I have stayed in an awful lot (many of which have been awful)

The Lowry

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 12-Sep-16 22:15:18

Manchester has some good ones. Perhaps I should have said outside of big cities.

Ana Mon 12-Sep-16 22:10:03

I wouldn't know, never having stayed in a central London one...grin

Pollengran Mon 12-Sep-16 22:08:44

Recorded, no adverts! Smug roastchicken

Have a roast chicken!

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 12-Sep-16 22:03:20

Ooh. I'm getting loads of hotels ads now. And I don't fancy any of them.

Why is it that, outside of central London, British hotels are so crap?

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 12-Sep-16 22:01:31

Boredom?! I came out of Cold Feet for this.

Pollengran Mon 12-Sep-16 21:53:20

It is the boredom of GN Daphne. God help us.

Pollengran Mon 12-Sep-16 21:50:22

I should have put a wink there.

DaphneBroon Mon 12-Sep-16 21:49:39

Right, call me naive but I have never come across porn on a hotel TV, maybe our favourite Premier Inns don't run to it! But I have never considered it a problem or worried about minors being corrupted by having unsupervised access.
So I don't see it as a problem. I don't see that it warrants more than a passing comment, certainly not its own thread.
Do we approve or disapprove of porn? Personal decision, hardly worth discussing.

Pollengran Mon 12-Sep-16 21:48:30

Oh ffs jinks! Stop behaving like a delicate flower! Get an eye mask!

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 12-Sep-16 21:37:45

I'm not sure I want to stay in anymore hotels.

I wish I'd never read this thread.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 12-Sep-16 21:36:13

Never!!! (kittylester)

What sort of hotels do you lot stay in?

NanaandGrampy Mon 12-Sep-16 21:15:47

During a thirty year career that involved travelling globally I can definitely say that porn was available as an option in 90% of the hotels I've stayed in. Some were even 5 star establishments.

You had to make a channel choice if you wanted to read the 'blurb' about them.

It was pretty easy to ignore. I just never selected the Adult channel. I don't think you could stumble on it inadvertently.

kittylester Mon 12-Sep-16 20:50:50

They are often listed in the information folder that comes in the room. You know the one with the room service menu, mealtimes, how to work the heating or open the windows!

WB didn't have to 'click into them' to know they are there

Pollengran Mon 12-Sep-16 19:40:05

Yes, how long? They have to be available (for international DJ's and MP's) but you don't have to click into them.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 12-Sep-16 19:32:21

How long did you spend looking for them wb?

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 12-Sep-16 19:31:08

But then again, we've never gone into it in any depth.

Were these films actually listed under a category of 'Hard Porn'?

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 12-Sep-16 19:29:16

I've never seen it.

JessM Mon 12-Sep-16 18:44:14

This kind of thing has been available in hotels for decades. Lots of men stay in hotels on their own when on business and they may be the main users. I remember about 25 years ago, going on a training course in a hotel, and the trainer saying that if anyone wanted to use the porn channels (pay per view) they would have to settle up with reception themselves as the company would not pay.

TriciaF Mon 12-Sep-16 17:54:24

What's your problem, grannylyn ?
You had a go at me in one of my threads recently?
