Just stayed at 4 start hotel for Mrs P 70th birthday. I was shocked (and I don't shock easily) that they offered hard pron films on their hotel TV menu. I am well aware that such films are easily available via the internet. but would not have expected such extreme films to be openly offered on a hotel TV. The films were as bad as any I have seen on the internet. Even children would have been able to see their content, if not the actual film. I guess that some couples enjoy such titillation to enhance their experience. I have seen similar options in hotels in Holland and Germany, but never here before. Before you ask, NO, we did not watch them.

I got that. Wasn't difficult. hmm

I have explained by PM. by puke I really meant "groan", the comment was funny, but groan worth (IMO). Have apologised for using a wrong word. OK ?

Eloethan Wed 14-Sep-16 00:00:57

Well, it made me chuckle daphne - and I can't think why it would deserve a puke emoticon.

I haven't been to the Bell at Sandwich but it looks good - and Sandwich is a quaint and interesting place. The Lansdowne, a Best Western, in Eastbourne is very nice - family owned and rather old fashioned but I like that. And the rooms at the front have a lovely view across the green towards the sea. I took my Mum there for a few days a couple of weeks ago and we enjoyed it very much.

Wobblybits Tue 13-Sep-16 20:15:25

It was meant in jest, sorry if it came over other wise. flowers

DaphneBroon Tue 13-Sep-16 20:06:55

I think that is very unkind wb.

kittylester Tue 13-Sep-16 19:43:20

Best plan Wb! wine

Wobblybits Tue 13-Sep-16 19:38:17

My request for the puke emoticon was for DB's joke on DaphneBroon Tue 13-Sep-16 13:55:27 Not because of the original subject.

I started the thread because it was not something I have ever come across before in UK hotel and was shocked that I did. Simple as that. So don't try to read any hidden meaning into it.

That exhausts my comments, time to end the thread for me.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 13-Sep-16 19:33:45

Yes, Sawdays recommendations can be good.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 13-Sep-16 19:32:59

Eh?! What's wb said? confused I thought he was being very restrained considering the bit of flack he's taken. grin

Nelliemoser Tue 13-Sep-16 19:29:16

"Methinks wobblybits doth protest too much."

WBif you don't like it why did you start a thread on it?

suzied Tue 13-Sep-16 18:53:38

I'd recommend The Bell in Sandwich for a couple of days away. Great food, don't know what channels they have on the telly, didn't watch it. Round the corner from Steph and Doms place - you could stay there but it's pricey, you can visit the garden without staying there. Sawdays Special Places to Stay Has lots of nice UK hotels.

Why the [puke] emoticon?
If I had had one I'd have used it long before now. hmm

Wobblybits Tue 13-Sep-16 16:28:14

Where's that puke emoticon.

Sorry Jings, lovely day at Aldeburgh. Bootiful F&C's, luvly cool breeze, there was even the obligatory nutter swimming. It hit 33deg coming home on the A12, phew.

DaphneBroon Tue 13-Sep-16 13:55:27

If as you say wb you found hard pron on offer in your hotel room on Saturday, are you sure it wasn't "Last Night of the Prons"? grin

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 13-Sep-16 12:53:40

kitty! Is it the Brudenell you've just booked into ?! Oh God. Don't take any notice of me! I'm sure it's lovely.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 13-Sep-16 12:43:18

Where? confused Cos I said I didn't fancy it?

Just been looking at the rooms, and Trip Advisor reviews. Might give it a try. Wedding Anniversary coming up!

kittylester Tue 13-Sep-16 12:00:46

A bit of a sweeping statement then, hey jings.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 13-Sep-16 11:23:54

We stayed at the White Lion this year. It was lovely! Only thing missing was air con. (Why?)

I only looked at the lounge area of the Brudenell. Didn't fancy it. Maybe the rooms were better.

kittylester Tue 13-Sep-16 11:21:09

jing, we stayed at the White Lion a couple of years ago which was run down and really dirty. We asked to be moved to the Brudenell which we knew from experience was far superior. I am assuming that the Lion has been refurbished in the mean time which in my opinion was long overdue!

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 13-Sep-16 11:00:52

Jane10 I find it really hard to find many good seaside hotels, particularly on the south coast. They all seem to be very tired.

Did find a good one in Aldeburgh though. (not the Brudnenell, which has definitely seen better days)
