Take care of yourself, Soop. We all love you ? xxxxx

Wobblybits Mon 05-Dec-16 16:48:02

Success today, my Doctor has referred me for a hip replacement.

But, did I feel old, the Doctor looked as though she should still be in the sixth form !

NanaandGrampy Mon 05-Dec-16 16:50:00

Sleep well soop when you're feeling so poorly bed is the best place to be xx

Hope you're feeling a little better soon xx

DaphneBroon Mon 05-Dec-16 17:09:02

Congratulations wobblybits good news!! tchsmile

TriciaF Mon 05-Dec-16 17:35:18

Certainly is good news, Wobblybits - it will make a new man of you (except we like you as you are.)
Soop is your UTI connected to your main problem ie the one you're waiting for a minor operation?

TriciaF Mon 05-Dec-16 17:37:33

Sorry - no operation is minor. But with you it could make a big difference.

Wobblybits Mon 05-Dec-16 17:47:15

Not worried about the Op and it is the light at the end of the tunnel. Now waiting to hear what the waiting list is like, previously they responded in a couple of weeks.

callgirl1 Mon 05-Dec-16 18:01:26

So pleased for you Wobbly, hope they don`t keep you waiting too long. My knee replacement was granted in June, and I went in in September.
Soop, I do hope you feel better soon, if not, get the doctor to come out to you. In the meantime, take very good care of yourself, although I`ll bet McSporran is already doing just that.

Charleygirl Mon 05-Dec-16 18:05:09

Very good news Wobblybits. You may have surgery done earlier if you can be admitted at the drop of a hat.

soop Mon 05-Dec-16 18:27:43

wot smile

Wobbly Good! You will feel like a new man (once the hip settles down). I've had both hips replaced. A wonderful new freedom of movement is the end result.

I've just crawled from my bed. Slept soundly. Feelings of nausea haven't subsided. Head fuzzy. Can't see myself visiting the care home tomorrow. TriciaF You are correct. Frequent UTI's are the result of the chronic bowel problem which can't be fixed surgically because, since I've already had several pelvic interventions, another may cause further, more serious complications that I would not welcome at my time of life.

Off for the time being. Look after yourselves. No messy bun fights...not in our new rustic kitchen. wink moon

Galen Mon 05-Dec-16 22:09:45

I have managed to catch manflu!
I am convinced by my sil it's probably fatal
So this could be my goodbye to you all!

Wobblybits Mon 05-Dec-16 22:18:43

Galen, MANFLU !!!!! for a woman it can be fatal, men can only survive because they have a woman to tend to their every need, even then it can leave lasting mental scars.

DaphneBroon Mon 05-Dec-16 22:22:16

They say that "Mum flu is just like man flu only nobody gives a sh*t"

Gute Besserung, Galen and Soop!!

Wobblybits Mon 05-Dec-16 22:42:05

Mum flu is like normal flu, but nowhere near as serious as MAN FLU.

Galen Mon 05-Dec-16 22:49:19

This one is MUCH WORSE

Galen Mon 05-Dec-16 22:53:27

Wreaths should be made of dandelions and rare orchids, both of which Bags assures me are easily available in Scotland in this season.

annodomini Mon 05-Dec-16 23:43:46

Could be that new bug that's around at the moment: Granflu - a nasty, virulent strain, frequently transmitted through the agency of grandchildren who are well known to be carriers of the worst diseases known to senior citizens.

Galen Tue 06-Dec-16 00:14:39

No! Got it before gc arrived on Saturday. Their father was suffering from it as well that's how I learnt it's terminal prognosis !
I'm doomed! Doomed I say!
Farewell all. I'm to bed with lemsip to ease my terminal hours!
Farewell cruel world!

annsixty Tue 06-Dec-16 08:40:38

If their father visited he should have had more sense than to take it to the house of an elderly person. We are very vulnerable. If you can't cruise over Christmas I would make him foot the bill.

NanaandGrampy Tue 06-Dec-16 08:43:10

I'm sorry Galen you cant have man flu but you do possibly have Bird flu smile

Wobblybits Tue 06-Dec-16 09:48:16

Galan, there is hope true Man Flu is often misdiagnosed by the sufferer and is just a common cold, but men are unable to accept that theory.

Bellasnana Tue 06-Dec-16 10:12:08

soop, Galen and any other poorly kitcheners, I send my love and best wishes for a very speedy recovery.flowers

It's a red letter day for me! After a lovely fortnight in Chester (my old hometown) visiting friends from the dim and distant past, I am shortly off to meet Lona which I'm soooooo excited about grin

millymouge Tue 06-Dec-16 11:32:42

Oh such a very raw day here in Essex and very foggy too. Had to go early to our local hospital for thyroid test and driving was not very pleasant. Hoping it will gradually lift. All was quiet over Sunday with DSis after another things going missing problem Saturday evening. She is worried over money going missing at the moment and as I do her finances I didn't want any problems. I have suggested before that I,should set up an on-line account on my iPad for her so the she could see day to day how things were. This time she was agreeable and we now, have that all set up. But while doing that we were told about the people in her kitchen. That was the first time both DD's have heard this sort of thing from her and both said how they remember their nana (my DM) doing that. My DM was diagnosed with dementia in her 80's so I am just wondering.
All the family will be together at Christmas so we will have a talk amongst ourselves and perhaps talk to the doctor. She can go for weeks without problems at all but she is so very frail these days. GD2's birthday Thursday so after school will have birthday tea and presents, and next week we plan to take her to a lovely garden centre near us so she can do some shopping. She said she is looking forward to both of these things and it will give her something to think about. Lordy I always seem to be moaning but it does help hmm

Galen Tue 06-Dec-16 11:56:12

Sil already had it as did I!
It is just a cold actually. The first one I've had for a few years.
I don't leave for just over 2/52 so should be recovered!
