We always seem to import the more annoying American habits , hugging being one of them. I kiss family members and hug some of them , like my granddaughters. However, it now seems to be common to hug total strangers . I don't want to hug strangers, it's too intimate and should only be done to those you love. Shaking hands should be sufficiently friendly , kissing to be done only after a length of time has passed .

I find it uncomfortable. I remember years ago my parents saying how odd it was that some people from other countries kissed each other when they met.
