I'm driving myself mad with my pedantry!

I don't hang my washing out, too many trees and bird poo. I hang it in the utility and workshop and am not bothered about the colour of my clothes pegs. But I am disgusted that a new neighbour two doors down leaves her multi coloured pegs out on the line, how common (haughty look).

I dry my undies out of sight in the airing cupboard. Well one does have standards you know.

I am also disgusted about people in our street leaving their bins out until a couple of days before the next collection. What do they do with their rubbish in the meantime?

Couldn't care about the pegs, but I do have rules about filling up the rotary line with so many on each quarter, not sure why!

When I hang washing out on the line, pyjama tops have to be next to their matching tops, socks have to be next to each other and all types of tshirts go next to each other, when oh hangs clothes out he doesn't care, they get hing any old way, I then go along the washing line and match everything up , am I a bit crackers!!!?

I like my coloured pegs but they do have to be in a certain order on the washing.....

My DH is a Virgo and nothing like what you describe.
Are you really "driving yourself mad?" Or are you rather proud of this obsession?
Easy enough to amend unless it really is a symptom of OCD.

I like my tea towels to match, dh got two out the airing cupboard and I said they don't match have to be the same, looked at me as if I was bonkers.

I am exactly the same with the pegs and washing but I'm not a Virgo. Perhaps I have Aspergers tendencies ......

I'm not really bothered about the colour of the pegs, but I do have to match up the washing when I put it on the line. All the socks are paired up, the shirts together and underwear sorted, knickers together, DH's boxers together etc. I also have a home for everything but might as well not bother as DH rarely puts anything back in the 'right' place. However he does all the cooking so I forgive him even though I have to search the kitchen to find the things I need when I'm doing my baking.
Never mind, there are much worse things to worry about so I just pass myself off as OCD and DH as totally unconcerned about the whereabouts of anything at all!!

Anyway, the upshot is I'm going to give all the coloured pegs to my daughter, who doesn't give a fig which peg to use, and buy myself some more wooden ones. I just hope they are the same colour as my existing ones

But if this pedantry/ocd/whatever-it-is becomes a problem in other parts of your life, then I think professional help is in order. If not, then ok.

Previous poster mentioned Julia Roberts in the movie 'Sleepng with the Enemy' and how she was OCD about keeping jars/towels perfectly aligned.

I think it was her abusive husband who had the OCD. When she escaped him and lived somewhere else, that is how she knew he had found her..... the jars in her cupboard had been lined up and her towels straightened.

I'm not worried about the colour of the pegs, more about the strength of the spring. So many modern pegs just don't grip like they used to. Anyone recommend some good strong ones?

I find the pegs with the best grip on my retracting narrow line are the ones with the spring between the 'ears' like this. These came from Asda but they don't often have this type.
