My husband served on the Royal Yacht Britannia and when it came to London, I was allowed a look around the Royal quarters.

Because of my husband's royal connections (he met some of the Balmoral staff when they visited the Yacht), we became friendly with the head housekeeper and whilst on holiday in Scotland, we visited her at Balmoral Castle, and were allowed into the dining room where it was laid out for a formal dinner (it was spectacular). We were invited back to the Castle that evening for a staff' party where the prizes for the fancy dress costumes were given out by a very pregnant Princess of Wales.

Whilst walking across Soho Square in the 1970s, en route from my office to the bank on the other side of the Square, I bumped brollies with Bill Oddie.

Whilst working in Soho Square, the office was next door to Paul McCartney's recording studio, and when in the ladies loo, we could hear them playing next door, and I often passed him on his way into the building.

My friend and I went to Southampton for a weekend. On our way down, we stopped at a Happy Eater (remember them??) and Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee were on the next table. The following day we were at Tucktonia model village and so were Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee! We think they were stalking us . I had been given a new posh camera and was struggling to use it, so Paul Daniels gave me a quick lesson and had me lying on the ground to take a photo to get better perspective.

I forgot! Ken Dodd was always in the house next door when I was a child. He was in the same group as their girls. They used to perform in the local Church hall. I was 4 at the time. Willie Russell used to live in our road his Mum and Dad used to run a fish and chip shop. Paul McCartney also lived on our prefab estate just after the war for a short time.

Rossano Brazzi changed my tyre when I got a flat tyre just outside his house as he was drawing up. Rather, his mechanic, who happened to be accompanying him, did it. I knew him because we used to buy our potatoes at the same shop. He loved to do his own food shopping. He also allowed my 12 year-old to "interview" him for a school project. At one point his wife came in and dumped a whole packet of Bahlsen biscuits in front of my daughter - no plate or anything - and then talked over her husband at me for the rest of the interview. He was delightful and very proud of his flat tummy.

I met Princess Diana, it was when she was in the throes of breaking from the PoW. The press were out in force that day. I have attended to a Buck House Garden party, I was impressed by three things: the food (of course) and the size and suaveness of the Yeomen of the Guard. They must be chosen for breadth and height! Thirdly, the organization of so many people at those occasions is second to none.

Better than all that, DS1 worked at a place where they did motor insurance for several well known people. On one occasion, someone called and asked to speak to the MD. The switchboard operator, a temp, asked who was calling. The voice said 'Stirling Moss'. 'Ha', she said, 'And I'm the Queen of Sheba!' It didn't end well....

I sat next to Eric Cantona on a flight to Paris. Because of a mix up with seats I was upgraded Club Class. I had no idea who he was at first, except to notice he was very tall.

When Antiques Road Show came to Dulwich Picture Gallery my husband and I were shown in the programme laughing in the crowd. We were so excited when the programme was shown and we saw ourselves!

Tommy Steele stepped on my hand....I have had hugs with Sir David Attenborough. .have saved artists David Shepherds Elephant painting from being left behind....made Gordon Buchanan a cuppa and had a hug on Skomer...Spoken to Bill Oddie on phone and in person...Seen Chris Packham abs and chatted on phone...save Rik Parfitt from a daddy long legs which was trapped in his hair...I hate the things. Met Captain Morgan (Sally B pilot)

Living in the Centre of London as a teenager in the 50's I would see Danny La Rue whilst shopping. Jimmy Saville lived around the corner in a B and B. Then he parked a motorhome in the square where I lived. He used the telephone box next door as his phone. He would come into the cafe my friends and I frequented and always had a wallet stuffed with cash. He would say good morning in the evening and good evening in the morning. ( in hindsight now realise why he liked mixing with us teenagers!!) My friend and I were walked home by two of Johnny Kidd and the Pirates' band. Saw Cliff Richard walking up Regent Street. Was behind Rula Lenska at a queue for the ladies at Fulham Football ground in the 80's. Brian Rix and his wife lived round the corner to where I am now, would see them at local shops. Saw David Essex coming out of my local newsagent with his leg in plaster. Bernie Winters was a client at firm of Solicitors I worked for, so was Lord Lichfield, Seb Coe. I worked at a well known treatment centre and saw many many celebs. Of which I will not divulge their names as it would break their anonymity.

In my younger days I worked at the Queens Residence ,Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland . So I have sat on the Queen's throne and bounced on the end of her bed !

I hasten to add, she was not in residence at the time ?

PS Kenneth Williams lived in my area in the 50's. A friend of mine (who is deceased now) was pally with Ruth of Pans People - who recently died. Ruth got us tickets to see the Moody Blues, and sitting in front of us was Babs from Pans People and her husband Robert Powell. My mother knew Robert Beatty and Dana Andrews.

I danced on an early Top of the Pops when it was filmed in a disused church in Manchester. We got Billy J Kramer singing Trains and Boats and Planes, but were much more impressed by the Hollies who walked past but were performing without an audience. A friend and I hitched a lift with Edwin Starr and his road manager from London to just outside Leeds.
