DH and I don’t buy each other many gifts as we have got to a stage in life where there is little that we need/want, however as it was our anniversary I pushed the boat out and bought him a quarter of coconut ice ? which he is already chomping into.
I have to admit I also bought myself a quarter of mint toffees, only to suck as I don’t want any fillings to come out.
What would you choose from the sweet shop, especially if I told you they were calorie free ?
I only like chocolate, no other sweets, but I suck sugar-free sweets for a chronic dry mouth. Too much artificial sweetener is supposed to give you diarrhoea but they just give me wind.
And then there was the packet of rum truffle cakes I bought for 99p from Iceland on Saturday (available in other supermarkets) ... should have saved them for Christmas ...
My Dad’s favourite chocolate was Fry’s Chocolate Cream. I remember ads for Frys Five Boys chocolate showing different expressions from sad to happy when he realised it was Fry’s! These ads were often above the seats on trains, beside the mirror.
Just remembered ... chocolate covered coffee beans ..
Sometimes I have ... a Fry's chocolate peppermint cream bar in memory of my dad OR a Turkish Delight / Walnut Whip in memory of my mum. They were their favourites and bring back many a smile.
SOft licorice for me .I can’t get enough.... and ladies 2/3 bits of an evening and its a wonderful laxative!! Didn’t know that coconut ice was though...I’ll give that a try.All medicinal of course!!
Thank you Jane - I am down south so, as much as I would like to, can't get to the market at Bilston. I will google Grays of Dudley and see how I get on! Thanks again
I must be the only person in the country who doesn`t like tablet, a friend made some and sent it to me, way too sweet and sickly for me, and I do have a sweet tooth. Sorry to all you tablet lovers.
