How many do you really need?

I was having dinner with a friend yesterday and in the course of a conversation about clothes she mentioned she had 12 coats. I was quite shocked. That seems an awful lot to me - or maybe I am just miserly when it comes to coats and jackets.

I have 5. A 'good' woollen one. A padded everyday winter one. A waterproof for walking and other outdoor activities. A lightweight spring/autumn jacket and a denim jacket. That seems like plenty to me!

Gilets not giblets Jalima. Even doing the correction now the dratted auto correct wanted to change it to giblets again. ?

I was visualising someone going out draped in giblets -Ugh! - rather like Lady Gaga and her meat dress.
