I was going to ask ‘what’s your porn’ just to get your attention but ai didn’t want to offend anyone, not on a Sunday anyway. But my question is: what is it that you fin almost impossible to resist?

For me it’s cookery books. I’ve got loads and I’m always looking at more. I don’t use them much but I can’t ignore them either. They are my porn. A neighbour is addicted to anything to do with property so she’s hooked on all those moving, buying, renovating programmes, exhibitions and magazines. An old friend can’t resist a bargain designer label and has been known to travel across several counties to bag her bargain. So, what’s yours?

I think this is a bit of an addiction for me. I play Patience on the laptop (when I'm tired of reading or sewing etc) and will do so past the point when my eyes start to water and my back aches. I get especially annoyed if I keep losing. It's a good job that no money changes hands or I'd be living in a cardboard box under a bridge.

I used to be exactly the same with Tetris back in the day, lovebeigecardigans1955. Or worse! DH said he was mightily relieved when my Gameboy died (and I made a conscious decision not to replace it!).

Stationery (I love notebooks in good quality paper and I love my pencils long and with erasers. However, I also love orchids (phalaenopsis). I think they are the most forgiving and generous plants ever. Mine are into their Sixth flowering now. Have had them for three years and more. The blooms last for up to three months and only need watering about once in two months (when I remember!). I do spray the Leaves at times with distilled water.
