Oh! Maw Thank you for sharing the beautiful photograph. Flynn is a gorgeous wee boy. x

Crafting Thu 08-Mar-18 19:56:28

soop a door mouse in Rory's chalet ?. What would he think of that? Perhaps he'd just be magnani mouse ? and be happy for the mouse to have somewhere to shelter grin

maw your Flynn is a real sweetie . Can't believe how he's grown.

Charleygirl Thu 08-Mar-18 21:49:35

Craftin I agree, young Flynn will be starting his first job before we blink an eye.

N&G do not forget Sam's sofa etc. The poor young man , shorn of nearly all of his hair.

I will not be Tara's best friend after tomorrow morning because we are off to the vet. I think she has kidney problems- I sincerely hope that it is not diabetes.

MawBroon Thu 08-Mar-18 21:55:38

Fingers crossed for Tara tomorrow Charleygirl. I do hate it when our animals are poorly, so hoping that there is nothing seriously amiss ??

cornergran Thu 08-Mar-18 22:31:08

Flynn is just adorable, maw. I just can’t bekieve that butter wouldn’t melt grin

Hope Tara gets a clean bill if health charley, she’s an important soul.

I’m sure Sam will forgive you n&g, no need for shame, isn’t it a fact that the cleaner the fur the more attractive it is to, err, livestock?

Off to bed now. Busy old day on the horizon tomorrow. Night night everyone.

NanaandGrampy Fri 09-Mar-18 08:15:20

Morning all !

The downside of moving to a bungalow is when Grampy gets up at silly o'clock and decided to clonk around in the kitchen. By silly o clock + 5 minutes we are all up ! Even Sam looked disgruntled about it this morning !!

Lovely photo of Flynn Maw

The dormouse sounds wonderful Soop Im sure Rory would have been impressed smile

I know Charley we had to wash all blankets, beds, etc yesterday - just what I needed !! Its a shame we had to have a summer haircut for him so early but the good thing is whilst its so short its easy to check for visitors.

I hope its just something simple with Tara today .

Its a final flurry round today before the arrival of our visitors for the weekend. Both of them are not on tip top form and the weather is forecast rainy here tomorrow so we may not make our trip to the farm. Cooper will be disappointed because they have new lambs and chicks to cuddle.

Grampy will be pleased because the farm SELL chicks and bunnies ! You can see where Im going .........

Hope everyone has a little something nice in their day today !!

JaneD3 Fri 09-Mar-18 13:03:56

That’s bad luck Nana. My other half creeps out quietly in the morning but then Charlie cat comes to tell me he has gone. Once he is sure I am awake, the flipping cat goes back to sleep!

MawBroon Fri 09-Mar-18 13:19:52

Hoping for good news of Tara?
Coming home to an empty house hit me a bit today sad but it was lovely to get to know littlest fella better (and vice versa) When Mama was not around he was quite happy e.g.for me to do bedtime last night (but FOUR books - having a larf or what?) and went down like an angel. But a glimpse of Mama or Dada and it’s another matter. I will not miss “silly o clock too much though!
We have a bit of a birthday weekend coming up BILtoday, son in law tomorrow DD on Sunday and somebody else (...
.........) on Tuesday!

Charleygirl Fri 09-Mar-18 13:39:51

Tara is canny- she knew something was up when I would not allow her out this this am and before I got dressed every door upstairs was closed. She was snoozing on my bed. I went downstairs, went through the motions of going out, opening even the front door. Normally there would have been a flurry running past but not today. I had to carry her in one hand while operating my stair lift with the other.

She is having a lot of tests carried out- I may have a better idea when the vet rings me later. To date the tests are costing £250. I said to the receptionist that at this rate I will be job hunting soon.

Apparently it may not be her kidneys or diabetes, it could be hyperparathyroidism. I hope to have a better idea later. Tara is out and will return at the witching hour of 7pm.

Her carrier is falling apart so that is next on the list to be replaced. She has cost me a lot of money this month, brand new bedding, today's cost, a new carrier- and it has not ended yet. She is worth it.

I suppose if I thought about it I would give Flynn and all of the other youngsters a big hug bur re-home Sam and Hattie who I "know" best.

soop Fri 09-Mar-18 14:18:11

CharleyG My thoughts are with you and Tara. I know what you are going through. The cost of a beloved pet's treatment is nothing compared with having peace of mind that nothing serious is going on. I would give all the cash in our treat box just to have Rory back...if only for a day.

Just arrived home. A few jobs to tackle before I shall be able to call in for a much need brew. The sun is shining from a clear blue sky. smile

annsixty Fri 09-Mar-18 14:49:46

I am pleased we are all experiencing better weather, it is positively spring like here.
I hope all Tara's tests come back satisfactory Charleygirl I think most of know what a worrying time it is when pets are off colour, my D has finally stopped rushing off to the vets with her dog every time he is sick or quiet, she has learned the hard and expensive way to give it a day or so.
A better day here today, Wednesday was awful, I was truly exhausted by about 8pm.
A slight improvement yesterday but a big one today. H' s mobility is much better and he is eating again.
He is asleep just now , just hope I don't have another bed to strip when he wakes up.
The incontinence is improving but still a problem, rather like Widow Twanky's laundry at times.
My house is getting me down slightly which is such a trivial thing but I do like a tidy house with everything in its place and of course it is anything but,I must learn to accept things for the time being.
The OT has rung this morning and is coming out on Monday morning.
I am not complaining, just making an observation but this is all costing so much. How do people on limited incomes cope.
I have bought incontinence pads in bulk, new jogging pants and sweatshirts, likewise new pyjamas all loose and elasticated for ease of dressing and two mattress protectors, one on, one off.
Happy days with Flynn Maw but I expect you are as shattered as I feel, I hope you got a warm welcome from Hattie.
Keep up the good work everyone and for those to whom it matters , a Happy day on Sunday.

soop Fri 09-Mar-18 15:17:32

Ann An enormous hug and many more besides. A little hope goes a very long way. sunshine

soop Fri 09-Mar-18 15:37:00

I've completed two new watercolours that are about to be mounted. I now have just one more to paint - a wolf. All of the paintings will go with us to our family gathering. There will be one for each family member.

Charleygirl Fri 09-Mar-18 15:37:38

Ann thanks for the update. The incontinence issue is certainly costing you money. Pleased to hear that H is starting to eat again. I am not sure what the OT can suggest because I appreciate that H has a will and mind of his own and of course forgets any common sense suggestions.

The vet has been in touch, there does not appear to be anything major wrong with madam- maybe a UTI. Before I chase her daily to force 2 tablets down her twice a day for 5 days, I have agreed to her urine being sent off to an outside lab so that we will know definitely. The one person who could help me re the tablets is allergic to cats.

In the meantime I will measure her water daily and the vet next week can decide how much has evaporated/she has drunk and whether there is a problem. Hopefully she will come to bed for cuddles later. She deserves them.

I have been chosen to spend 24 hours locally in a Mc Carthy Stone flat. That should be interesting.

soop Fri 09-Mar-18 15:43:08

Charleyg Will you be able to take Tara to spend time in the flat? I jolly well hope so. She deserves a treat.

Charleygirl Fri 09-Mar-18 15:55:50

soop it would not be a treat for Tara because I would not be able to let her out, just supposing that she was allowed to come. She would hate staying in a strange place even with me.

I love your paintings- my last post went before yours appeared.

annodomini Fri 09-Mar-18 16:13:34

A courier arrived this afternoon with a huge box containing masses of tulips. I haven't counted them yet. I thought I wouldn't have enough vases but fortunately they came with one. Only problem is that there is no indication of which son sent them. I had a card from one this morning so chances are that the tulips are from the other, but how do I tactfully find out?

Charleygirl Fri 09-Mar-18 16:21:48

anno what a lovely gesture but I agree, difficult to find out which son sent them. Enjoy.

annsixty Fri 09-Mar-18 16:31:18

Lucky you anno I love tulips even when they flag and bend, it is another perspective of them.
It is no good asking the suppliers, they will not divulge that info, I have tried.

soop Fri 09-Mar-18 16:33:23

anno Yes, a lovely gesture that will have put a big smile on your face. Is it possible to ring the florist. There would be a name of the sender on their records. In the meantime, enjoy!!!

soop Fri 09-Mar-18 16:36:00

Ann's message was sent as I was typing my comment to anno. hmm I would say a very big thank you to both sons. xxx

Time for log off. A glorious day and the promise of a pleasant weekend.

Until tomorrow...smile moon

cornergran Fri 09-Mar-18 16:47:08

Tulips sound beautiful anno no matter who sent them. Anyone else who could make not so subtle enquiries for you?

Hope you are less worried about Tara now Charley, a UTI isn’t the best but perhaps not the worst. See what the urine sample says. McArthy and Stone couldn’t have a better reviewer. Do you know when you are going?

Beautiful water colours as ever soop, your family will be thrilled.

Your husband seems to be improving ann but you must be oh so exhausted with the laundry and well, everything. I know it’s another cost but would a laundry service help for a little while? Take a little pressure off.

Many celebrations coming up maw, isn’t it strange how birthdays group? We’ve had a month of birthdays, just coming to the end. Lovely to be part of the celebrations but can I whisper this? I’m almost at the point when a cheese sandwich would be preferred to another celebratory meal. How ungrateful does that sound? Delighted you have had that precious time with Flynn, he’s a cute little soul, those few days have been very special for you both.

I know that bungalow problem n&g except it’s the other way around here. Me rattling around. Hope Cooper makes it to the farm and all animals remain there, result all round. No matter, I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful weekend.

Pouring here, feels cold too. Bit of a squashed day in corner land, never mind, what goes down has to come up again.

Take care everyone.

.

soop Sat 10-Mar-18 11:41:30

Tippling with rain. Much milder. A day for remaining at hoe and busying myself in my so-called studio. My nest painting will be of a wolf - head and shoulders. It has amazing eyes. If successful, it will be a gift for one of the older grandsons.

soop Sat 10-Mar-18 11:43:03

home! next! hmm eyesight not up to speed at the mo'. Time for a coffee (no biscuit allowed.)

Galen Sat 10-Mar-18 12:23:01

Disaster here.
Noticed a stain on the kitchen ceiling yesterday. Called plumber who came. The hot water cylinder is leaking and has to be replaced. He can’t order one before Monday, so I’ll have to live with leak until late next week. Hope it doesn’t bring the ceiling down.
Then when that’s finished I’ll have to let it all dry out then get a decorator to repaper and paint the ceiling. It’s abot 20’x15’ so not tiny.
Expensive business and not making me feel better.
I’ll have to get back to work next week regardless of how ill I feel , so that I’ve got the money to pay for it.
