Happy as can be
All good pals and jolly good company.

I'm so glad you had a lovely day MawBroon

Sar53 Wed 14-Mar-18 10:15:36

What a lovely picture maw, so glad you had a lovely day and a break with your daughters to look forward to.

annsixty Wed 14-Mar-18 10:33:48

Maw how good to hear you enjoyed your day.
You have a really lovely family and what a treat to look forward to when the weather will be better.

soop Wed 14-Mar-18 17:05:03

A beautiful photograph, Maw. I'm delighted that you had a wonderful day.

Grandson discharged from hospital. He's awaiting results from a multitude of blood tests. He's free from pain. We're very relieved.

Have only just returned home. MacS's 11:15 appointment eventually took place at 12:45. The Macmillan ward was bursting at the seams with just two consultants working flat out. Then we had a wee break in the canteen and took our pal for her scan. Both consultations were successful. MacS has a large group of cancerous lymph glands lying close to the abdominal aortic aneurysm. Next visit is to have the aneurysm measures.

I'm sorry that I've no time for catching up with you lovely lot...and I've to attend to my pal's mountain of ironing tomorrow morning.

With luck I should be paying you a more leisurely visit after lunch. smile moon

Ann at my size they’re hardly ‘smalls’!????

annsixty Wed 14-Mar-18 18:39:28

?

cornergran Wed 14-Mar-18 21:32:16

Evening all. Well, didn’t do a thing I was going to today. As the saying goes - when the going gets tough the tough go shopping smile

Pleased your grandson is comfortable soop, hopefully the test outcomes will be positive. Sounds quite a hospital day, hope you've both had feet up since you’ve been home.

Early start for us tomorrow, Mr C has a DEXA scan at silly o’clock, not a bad thing as plan breakfast afterwards

Take care everyone, hugs to all with heavy hearts.

soop Thu 15-Mar-18 14:49:22

corner What is a DEXA scan? Hope the results were favourable.

Finished a mammoth ironing session. Late start as our pal had to return to the GP's surgery earlier today. The surgery was running late. I therefore started my duties later than usual.

For once I'm happy not to have to play mega catch-up with you lot.

My love to you all. I'm about to return to the painting of a colourful bird of prey in full flight. I shall return.

I cannot say that I am looking forward to a colder weekend with maybe snow forecast. Two weeks and it will be Easter- I cannot believe that this year is flying by.

If I am going out early the next day, I sort out clothes the evening before. I obviously did not surface today when Tara wanted because when I did get up she has scattered my clothes and underwear around the bedroom. Luckily for her there were no teeth marks in anything. At times she does not realise how close she is to being free to a good home.

Galen Thu 15-Mar-18 17:05:46

Plumber has been and I now have a new hot water cylinder!
Just waiting for the bill now.
Working in Wales tomorrow,so an early start.

soop Thu 15-Mar-18 17:10:41

Charleyg You jest! You wouldn't even think of doing such a dastardly thing.

Colder weather forecast. We're just getting used to a milder climate. Hey ho...thank goodness that we mere mortals cannot interfere with the weather. We seem to do quite enough harm to our planet without interfering further.

We're about to book our train tickets for when we visit the family and have serious cuddle time with the babes. I'm so excited. Have been for months on end.

Tomorrow is yet another care home visit day. The days vanish without a by your leave. I've barely drawn breath today.

Take good care of yourselves. I shall do my best to return tomorrow after lunch. smile moon

Galen We are still paying instalments on our latest car repair bill. The pot holes have ruined the suspension yet again. It ain't fair! hmm

This site has been playing silly buggers with me over the last 2 days, by not accepting my password for logging on. Today it accepted it on one thread, but then had to try 4 times to get it accepted on this one. I`m getting aeriated!!
Soop, I was pleased to read that your grandson is a little better, hope he continues to improve.
Last night I just couldn`t get off to sleep, tossed around for ages, then got an attack of heartburn, so sat up on the edge of the bed. Mia thought I was getting up, so sat there miaowing around my feet, sounded very cross when I got back into bed. Then the alarm inexplicably went off, I looked at the clock and it had stopped, so when I went downstairs to the loo at 5am I brought another battery back and reset. Once again Mia thought I was getting up, she should know me by now.
Oh yes, good that you had a nice birthday after all Maw.

Greyduster Thu 15-Mar-18 19:02:50

Well, I’ll go to the foot of our stairs! Lovely to see you again, Wobbly!

MawBroon Thu 15-Mar-18 19:09:35

Are there any coppers in it Wobblybits?

Jalima1108 Thu 15-Mar-18 19:14:42

Have you been off busking in the interim?

And I hope you brought cake (not in the hat though)

Wobblybits Thu 15-Mar-18 19:18:04

No coppers, although we are due to go busking soon, so you never know. I'm oop norf atm (well almost - Humberside)
Son broke his arm and we have been helping to look after his children. (his wife works evening some days). We did venture into Gods own Country yesterday, spent it in Beverly.

Jalima1108 Thu 15-Mar-18 19:27:33

Yes, coppers are back on the agenda - apparently.

I did like Beverley, we spent so much time in the Minster I didn't have enough time for the shops.

cornergran Thu 15-Mar-18 19:53:07

Hello again wobbly, hope life is treating you well.

The scan was for bone density soop, waited four months for it and it will be at least another to get the outcome. Accomplished easily today at least and followed by an excellent breakfast.

Pleased you are watertight again galen.

It seems to me Mia and Tara are firmly in charge smile.

Supposed to be on Grandma detail so I’d best go check on the herd of elephants upstairs. Not sure how they got in grin.

annsixty Thu 15-Mar-18 20:50:21

Welcome back wobblybits are they still wobbling?
How is the hip and all the other dodgy bits?
I have ventured out today for the first time in 18 days, it was so disappointing somehow, I can't explain.
I was very tired H was up and dressed in the day before clothes which I hadn't removed, at 3:30 am, I persuaded him back to bed and we had a repeat performance at 6:30am, by the time the carers came at 11 I was shattered.
I am doing battle with SS, I still haven't got a shower stool and we found out yesterday that the carecall pendant has never even been requested. They are blaming the hospital, the carers are really embarrassed and for 3 mornings now have rung the line manager, what he is doing I don't know.
I was so jaded and uptight I was never going to enjoy my trip out.
Good news about your GS soop I hope he continues to recover.
My dexa scan showed osteoporosis corner it seems that treated early gets reasonable results

cornergran Thu 15-Mar-18 21:15:25

Goodness ann, you’ve highlighted some inefficiency there and you must be shattered, beyond shattered really. Would you feel better if you yelled at someone?

Questions about bone density came from an x-ray Mr C had back last summer. It’s taken a while to get the scan authorised, another month for the outcome. His scientific early training encourages him to ask for evidence of, well, everything. He will accept treatment if the evidence is there, he can be sensible on a good day smile

The elephants upstairs proved to be delicate little girls hmm. All quiet now. Phew.

Wobblybits Thu 15-Mar-18 21:27:17

Unfortunately the wobbly bits are still as wobbly. The hip is finally sorted, but it took over a year due to a number of other health scares, heart, cancer etc (all negative gladly) they delayed the hip surgery several times. Other than that I am just falling apart, going deaf, blind and (if Mrs WB's is to be believed) stupid. Not keen on this getting old thing.
