On soop's behalf, I will post her usual welcome

Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good pals and jolly good company.
Never mind the weather
Never mind the rain
As long as we're together...
Whoops we go again.

WELCOME. Make yourselves at home flowers

JaneD3 Fri 23-Feb-18 21:37:24

Hope your little one continues to improve Soop. Can’t stop - the Chippndales are about to start again ?

Jalima1108 Fri 23-Feb-18 21:31:47

downstairs look? Downstairs loo!

my spelling has gone awry recently

Jalima1108 Fri 23-Feb-18 21:31:13

N&G I like white with cream/beige tiles - our downstairs look has beige tiles, white sanitary ware and cupboard with cream paint above the tiles.
You can then add splashes of colour with bright towels, bath mats etc toiletries on display etc. and vary the changes.

kittylester that must have been very worrying. DD had bronchiolitis when she was young and given Ventolin syrup, no hospital in those days and I was just advised to sit with her in a steamy bathroom.

Everyone else - a wave and a smile
but no cake for me today, thanks (i already ate a piece when I was out today)

MawBroon Fri 23-Feb-18 20:52:06

“Flypaper in the facilities” Marydoll ?
Count me out, I only like Andrex Supersoft with cashmere tcrgrin

MawBroon Fri 23-Feb-18 20:49:38

That poor family - it is hard to imagine what they are going through flowers
Doing the cheques for Paw’s bequests was an emotional experience espocially as I put a letter in with each one and I found myself saying “Help me Paw, I cant do this on my own” sad
Anyway they have now been posted and I suppose he would have been pleased to see me carry out his wishes.
But these things do trip you up when you least expect it.
So, now I am watching the rugby tonight and with no patriotic involvement in either team, I can just enjoy it whoever is winning!

harrigran Fri 23-Feb-18 20:28:13

kitty you must have been worried sick, good news that your GS is home again.
My neighbour was able to bring her DS home today, 4 days after his heart attack, with lots of drugs. They were unable to fit a stent. Her DH's funeral had to be rearranged to allow recovery time for son, it will now go ahead next Thursday. I do hope the snow holds off as it is a village church service followed by burial.

lemongrove Fri 23-Feb-18 19:52:10

C’mon Kitcheners.....get over there, the Chippendales are on
The beer is flowing and the singing and pole dancing comes next.
Marydoll remember you are the one looking after all their needs, so get back there pronto!

Marydoll Fri 23-Feb-18 19:44:50

Dear Kitcheners, it's lovely so many of you have accepted our invitation to the Argy. I wouldn't worry about having nothing to wear, anything goes. If you want to wear nothing, that fine by us. Nothing shocks us.
For those who are under the weather, we will save you som of the "goodies", and a little snifter. In fact I would sniff first, as you never know what Meno and Lemon put in the "cocktails" .
Kitty, don't worry about the facilities. We were rated -5* by Trip Adviser. Actually, I think it was Soop who posted that review. We have worked so hard to get it up to -4*. I think the addition of fly paper and air freshener has helped raise the standard.

Greyduster Fri 23-Feb-18 19:20:09

Corner I’m sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather. Have you had your blood pressure checked? My DD had similar symptoms and her blood pressure was low. Whatever it is, I hope you’re feeling better soon ? so that you can get yourself off to the Argy wearing all that fetching attire! I’m not brave enough to venture in there, and the only thigh length boots I own are my waders!!

JaneD3 Fri 23-Feb-18 19:09:10

NannyJan53! My godmother lived in Gospel End just round the corner from Baggeridge! Fond memories xx

cornergran Fri 23-Feb-18 18:15:19

Evening All. Firstly my apologies to the caff - I still feel slightly 'weird' (its the only word for it) but not party 'weird' if you know what I mean. If I were functioning I would be with you in my purple mini skirt, red blouse, red shoes (no white stilettos for this former Essex girl), green tights and fox coloured (imitation) fur stole. The most refained I can manage grin

I'm a bit dizzy and sort of vacant - no comments please - so more apologies I won't be able to reply to everyone who has been in this so very busy new kitchen. I'm very sad that cake just wouldn't sit comfortably at the minute which could be a major problem tomorrow as we have two birthdays to celebrate (no, not mine).

Think we must share the same hair morethan and grannyq, what I wouldn't give for nice, thick, biddable hair. Oh well, twas ever thus.

A quick hello to beavermist and ourkidl, this is a good place to sit a while.

Oh dear kitty what a woriesome day but all good in the end. Your UTI is enough without Bertie being poorly. Stay in the warm and relax a bit now. Lovely whispered news too

Annie, more buggerations for you, so sorry, on line may be the way to go as long as you sit up straight to do it. hmm.

Soop each time you say one of your pictures isn't the best I cringe to think what anything I produced would be like. The otter looks good to me.

I've also heard of donations not being acknowledged by national charities, so sorry its happened to you mawb, infuriating, more than bad manners.

The hospital undignified process must be a major irritation with no real outcome greyd, hope you are comfy at least.

Superb cake, bellasnana, nothing quite like that here tomorrow but there will be three types of cake for the hoards to eat.

You have my sympathy n&g, if I never have to choose another paint colour I will be a very happy person. We finished up with cream, white and some taupe together with either bright green or a very orangey orange for towels and accessories in our bathroom. We like it hmm and it does get lots of compliments. I'm sorry can't recall who but the mood board someone suggested is a good idea as is an internet search for bathroom interiors, there will be loads of images.

Right, off for a lie down, I have to be less 'weird' tomorrow or I will feel more than fed up.

Stay warm everyone, its flipping cold here but blessedly dry so I'm hapy enough.

callgirl1 Fri 23-Feb-18 17:39:39

Nearly missed the latest picture Soop, love the little otter.

callgirl1 Fri 23-Feb-18 17:35:20

Afternoon/evening all.
Kitty, lovely news about your daughter, but doesn`t October seem a long time off? My new great grandson is due on May 4th, fitting for Star Wars fans! So sorry to hear of Bertie`s emergency dash, but glad to hear that he`s OK. At his age, the least they could have done was give him all the bells and whistles!
Soop, I hope that your pal is feeling a bit better.
Maw, the collection at David`s funeral was divided between 2 charities, the hospice where he died, and a national charity. The hospice replied almost immediately with a thank you letter, from the national charity, nary a word.
Love the new kitchen by the way, pity I was too late for a bacon roll.
Best wishes to all poorly and stressed out peoples. I`m not sure if I can make the party at the Argy, but hope that you all have a wonderful? time, without too many tummy upsets.
I took Mia to the vet`s for her annual booster jab this morning, got a shock. She has a dental infection and needs 2 teeth out, at a cost of £250, on top of today`s £35. I have to take her back a week on Monday, am now on the lookout for lifts.

NannyJan53 Fri 23-Feb-18 17:33:04

Fruitcake made and cooling in the kitchen!

Just waiting for Partner to arrive home from work, then it's curry night for us!

Had a lovely walk this morning with U3A, from Himley Park to Baggeridge. Bright blue skies and sunshine, albeit a bit chilly.

I am so in awe of your animal pictures soop.

Wishing you all a good evening, (not sure what the Argy Bargy is? )

Greyduster Fri 23-Feb-18 17:22:03

Soop the more of your lovely animal pictures you produce the more I am tempted to get cracking and pick up a paintbrush. Your shoes are too big for me to fill, though, I think! ?

annodomini Fri 23-Feb-18 17:15:53

Charleygirl, my Dad was of a mind with your mother. He blew a gasket when I came home with my lovely white stilettos. He behaved as if I was going to stand on a street corner (in Linlithgow?) and start soliciting.
Kitty, what a trying day for you. I'm glad Bertie is home again and with the correct medication.
Rugby on TV tonight even if it's only France v Italy. I need to get in some practice for tomorrow's big match. So I will stay chez moi tonight, I have my priorities!

soop Fri 23-Feb-18 17:09:30

JaneD3 Tyke!

JaneD3 Fri 23-Feb-18 17:09:15

I have made flapjacks to take - I find bird seed makes a nice change, particularly if there is some of that nice hemp seed in it.

soop Fri 23-Feb-18 17:08:47

I persevered and am about finished with the otter watercolour. Not one of my better efforts but I did my best.

About to log off until tomorrow. Anyone going to the Argy Bargy do, please stay together and pace yourselves. grin moon

JaneD3 Fri 23-Feb-18 17:07:52

For any party at the Argy, think fishnets, patent, fake fur, miniskirts etc. I shall wear the basque with the pointy bits like that Madonna person used to wear. grin

soop Fri 23-Feb-18 16:58:25

You too, Greyduster. Weather here is bloody chilly but it is February. We mustn't grumble.

soop Fri 23-Feb-18 16:55:48

kitty I think that you should relax. You've had a stressful day.

Greyduster Fri 23-Feb-18 16:53:50

Hello the (new) kitchen! Blimey you lot have been galloping along!
Maw it’s odd the way charities behave in the matter of bequests. A ‘thank you’ would have been the least you should expect. My son and his friends raised several thousand pounds after his wife died, which was to be split between a large national heart disease charity and the local hospice where his wife had been looked after. The heart disease charity took seven months before they finally said they would be pleased to come and accept the cheque from the lads who had walked 190 miles in five days to raise the money, and then a couple more months before the handover finally took place. The sad thing was that by that time one of the guys had been posted. It was a case of, well, do they want it or don’t they want it? My friend wanted to give a large cheque to the unit that gave her husband exceptional care during his illness, but it took nearly two years of knocking on their door before they finally accepted the cheque. Apparently because until they could decide what to spend it on, they weren't allowed to accept it!
Glad to hear that Bertie is feeling better, kitty. Can’t keep our little ones down for long, I’m glad to say.
Well I came back from the hospital having been prodded, scanned, invaded and pronounced as fit as a butchers dog, but that raises more questions than it answers and even the lovely consultant did not have much in the way of solutions. At the point at which he said “In ladies of your age......” I wanted to leap off the couch and do a runner, but I was wearing only a hospital gown (with no ties down the back ?!) so it didn’t seem like a sensible idea, the weather being nitherin’ and all - and the fact that I travelled on the tram!
I have a quiet evening ahead as Mr GD is going to the pub. An old black and white film beckons, I think.

kittylester Fri 23-Feb-18 16:15:41

Feeling better - Bertie is on his way home with inhalers, steroids and another appointment. I'm back on the NHS!! And, as luck would have it, it is supposed to be the Idiot's weekend but 'they are too busy with their new puppies!' so can't have the children. I'm much happier with them staying at home just in case the Idiot had them and lived up to his name. sunshine

LG do the curtains go ALL the way down to the floor? grin

soop Fri 23-Feb-18 16:08:26

Beavermist the more the merrier.

lemongrove Last time I sneaked a preview of your visitors book, I was stunned. The comments steamed up my bifocals. I would have liked to gather us lot together for a lesson on what not to do when trying to impress a dishy fella. Only words failed me. We was all agog. Takes a lot to shock us lot into agogness.
