Good dog Pip!
Saves on the pedigree chum. You can come and despatch pigeons here any time you like, noisy things pooing all over my patio.
The rain hasn’t eased all day, but it takes more than that to separate a boy from his beep beep!

Doodle Sun 26-Aug-18 20:15:17

?boys eh!

cornergran Sun 26-Aug-18 20:41:23

I love little boys. Go Flynn smile

Wishing you a peaceful evening ann. Pleased today has been a little more manageable.

callgirl1 Sun 26-Aug-18 20:46:07

You definitely are allowed Ann. And I`ve been on the other thread to confess my sin!

Panache Mon 27-Aug-18 08:51:28

Thank you one and all for making this morning`s reading like one from an upmarket "Beano!!"............the shedder fiasco,GreyD your decision not to continue with altering those sleeves,
The tree felling with my heart in my mouth thinking of the old Monkey Puzzle tree,an antique of trees nowadays,
One little boy`s delight with his beep peep,................AND I have had to hold my sides when reading the fixing of the doll`s pram followed by the hysterics of parting pip from her prized pigeon!!!!

One has no need to go to a show here just quietly sit in and listen to the antics here in our Soop`s kitchen!!!

Thank you for your tender caring by the way and after another poor night if you don`t mind I shall sit again quietly in the corner as I am becoming quite partial to this tartan rug!

It has been a wash out of a Bank Holiday as far as I am concerned and I think I am in need of a mega dose of “Get up and go”.........
However good hearing of your good day Ann that is a great blessing.
Sorry for the sneezes and this touch of Hay fever, not very pleasant.

One “Beerfeist” held in our town yesterday despite the deluge..........and I think that saved the day for our visitors as they were able to drink their sorrows away!

Am so sorry about the poor pictures Soop and quite frankly I would rather you just not waste your time on a sketch of our beloved Barney, because as a perfectionist in your art, you will not be happy...............and I want no part in contributing to that.

Popped in when probably I am at my freshest ..........hopefully the first of many
Have another day of laughter in these aisles!

NanaandGrampy Mon 27-Aug-18 09:04:24

Morning all!

Early(ish) start for me today. The little boys will be arriving by lunch time with their Mummy and Daddy and then we have them for the guts of the week. That is the last of our baby sitting duties for the Summer Holidays !!

Corner I read somewhere that you should only touch your incoming post/paperwork once - open it , deal with it shred it . I try to do that. Grampy on the other hand likes to stack his in little piles in places round the house :-)

GrannieQ oh dear Pip !! She must be much faster than Sam, who gives chase if the pigeons get too cocky , walking around in his eye line but he's never caught one yet.

Love the picture of Flynn and his beep beep in the garden ! I love that about kids- weather is no hindrance to fun!!

I shall be missing in action this week lovely kitcheners I suspect . But will catch up where I can. Please stay out of trouble and save me some cake !

Charleygirl Mon 27-Aug-18 10:53:00

Tara allowed me a lie in until 8.30am- if you cannot beat 'em join 'em is her motto.

Living on my own how can I acquire 4 machine loads today when I wash nearly every day? Who thinks I am running a laundry and are sneaking in items?

Maw I love Flynn's beep beep and I am sorry I would not fit in it. It looks great fun and a well bought purchase.

Panache surely the crowds are returning home and freeing that noisy road. In the nicest possible fashion I hope there is a deluge the next time somebody comes to view your property.

Greyduster Mon 27-Aug-18 11:13:13

Good morning the kitchen. Wet and grey to finish off the Bank Holiday, but hopefully it will brighten up later so that we can get out and stretch our legs. I am getting cabin fever. I am sorry there was not a crumb left of the crumble yesterday. Well, that was a foregone conclusion with Mr Greedy at the table. He ate more dinner than his father and grandfather put together and polished off the apple sauce as a precursor to his pudding. He offered his services as sous chef in the kitchen, his speciality being chopping carrots - the sort that shoot off in all directions when you cut down too hard! It was like the Battle of Waterloo with carrots! “By God, Sir, that was a close run thing!” He later insisted on helping DH clear up by rinsing the dishes before they went into the dishwasher (I’m not sure what all this storing up of treasure in heaven is all about!). DH spotted him about to grab the carving knife out of the washing up bowl, went in to stop him as he knew it was mega sharp - and cut a deep gash in his finger. It bled so much that it was puddling into the hand he held underneath while I was trying to find the first aid kit, and GS got quite upset. If GS had taken the cut, it would have been much much worse. We managed to sort it out but I had to change the dressing two or three times during the evening and put a bomb proof one on before he went to sleep. This morning it has closed up nicely so fingers crossed. Hey ho.
Gq your Pip sounds as if she is fast on her feet - as you say, spaniel will out! We had a friend who had a huge cat who regularly used to catch and bring home rabbits! Shame they didn’t like rabbit - he should have brought them my way!
N&G I hope the boys enjoy their train ride this week. I get very excited about steam trains so I wish I could come too ?! As for an acer in your garden, go for it! They are very Zen!
Panache it sounds as if you could do with a bit of Zen too! Have a peaceful day of consolidating your strength ?.
Maw I like a child who doesn’t mind the weather. All of ours have been brought up like that. Dress for it and get on with it. Flynn certainly has his mind set on going places, rain or no rain!
Well, it looks as if the sun is trying to get out, so I had better gird up my loins. I will look in later.

soop Mon 27-Aug-18 13:41:57

Ann Coming into our kitchen to read that you've had a better day cheered me greatly.

callgirl1 As you know, I'm very fond of you. However Spare me talk of that time of year. I dread it.

Maw Lovely image of Flynn in his beep beep. He appears to keeping his eyes on the path. x

Panache I do not give up when confronted by a hurdle. Oh, no...I'm made of stern stuff. wink

N&G "Stay out of trouble..." you cannot be serious. As for saving cake...I'm still to find any. Too late coming into this kitchen, serves me right.

Charleyg Not guilty m'lud. I haven't touched your washing machine. hmm

Greyduster I'm hoping that your first aid helped to save dear Mr Greyduster from a serious blood loss. Sharp knives can be lethal. Well done you for acting promptly. I expect that he's excused washing up duty for the foreseeable.

cornergran Mon 27-Aug-18 14:32:32

I seem to have lost half a day faffing about with nothing to show for it. Pleasant faffing though.

That cut sounds painful greyd, hope your husband is on the mend. Your sous chef sounds enthusiastic, there’s a lot to be said for enthusiasm.

Sadly no apple frangipani left either. I had one small helping, there were only two of us here so no prizes for guessing who ate the rest - and more custard than would float the average ship.

I can however offer some gluten free carrot cake. I promise it tastes like ‘proper’ cake, so help yourselves.

I also read that about paper n&g, in fact I have been known to share the theory. Theories don’t seem to work around here now. Procrastination often rules grin. Have fun with the boys, I won’t tell you to be good grin.

Well, it seems we’re off out. No idea where. Sky is grey and the roads overly full. Oh well, mystery trip it is. hmm. As Mr C has instigated it there will be a coffee for him somewhere along the way. smile.

Panache Mon 27-Aug-18 16:20:36

Popping my nose in, and as always I can be assured there have been a few visitors.
The weather cannot make up its mind what it wants to do though dry and grey for the most part.

Great minds thinking alike Charley...........I had hoped for the more normal mass exodus this afternoon but you would not believe how quiet it is.......Perhaps the deluge yesterday has thinned out the crowds!(Wishful thinking on my part!!)

Seems you are about to join the masses Corner......the only time we ventured out on a Bank Holiday whilst living in our resort was .......... heading for the safety and comparitive peace of the Precelli Mountains, enjoying only the odd bleep from the sheep!

I hope you have a well stocked up First Aid Box Greyd.......it certainly sounds as you may well continue to need it.....these Sous Chefs have delicate fingers!Does all kitchen duties fall on you now?
At this rate you will need to be buying in blood.

I know a person with determination Soop and I would expect you to "fight on" but quite honestly I feel rather guilty in my request...........a time I thought long and hard before putting requests into action!

I have had a rathen "zen" weekend.... and not much better for it.......... what is more, I am not staying put much longer!.............whilst wishing you all a very pleasant evening to complete this last weekend break of the summer....I have ordered an Indian summer and am just waiting as yet.....I shall share it of course.

soop Mon 27-Aug-18 16:24:34

corner A mystery trip with a coffee to look forward to. Sounds like fun. I like surprises. Nothing surprising happened hereabouts today. Oh! Almost forgot...a new pic of Teddy. Aww!

soop Mon 27-Aug-18 16:26:33

Note to Panache sketch on the drawing board. grin

callgirl1 Mon 27-Aug-18 17:31:18

OK Soop, I won`t say another word about CHRISTMAS!!

annsixty Mon 27-Aug-18 17:45:02

Does Teddy have a black eye or is it my tablet?
He's a real poppet, so is Flynn.
I would love more young ones in my family.

Eilyann70 Mon 27-Aug-18 17:47:38

Although I am very new here and don't post much, I do love reading of all your activities. What a busy lot you are!

annodomini Mon 27-Aug-18 18:03:28

I've been away for a week, keeping an eye on GSs who are glued to a pernicious video game called 'Fortnite' (sic). It's free initially but once they are sucked in, they have to pay for equipment and accoutrements for their characters. It is hard to drag them away from it as they are playing with lots of other people. It seems to me something like a cult in that it sucks them in and keeps a hold of them. When I asked the boys why they weren't out playing with their friends they told me that they were all playing this dreadful game as well. I'd ban it !

soop Mon 27-Aug-18 18:04:16

Stay with us, Eilyann70 As for keeping up with this lot...hmm I try my hardest but ...I wouldn't want to be without a single one of them.

Ann No, I think that it's a norty shadow.

callgirl1 grin Tyke!

I'm logging off until I return from tomorrow's visit to the care home. Take good care of yourselves. smile moon

NonnaW Mon 27-Aug-18 18:05:55

Gorgeous photo of Teddy. I agree ann it looks like a black eye to me too. Maybe it’s a trick of the light. Our DGS almost had a black eye last week. He was spinning round, lost his balance and crashed into the corner of the coffee table. So glad it happened on mum & dad’s watch and not on ours!

Apart from signing some paperwork I think it’s time to leave the fretting over the move (so much to be done!) and start thinking about our trip to Spain on Wednesday. Paperwork in order - check. Euros obtained - check. Travel sized toiletries bought - check. Dogs to kennels tomorrow (sorry mutts), then packing to be done and off at the crack of dawn Wednesday morning. Wish us luck - our flight is with the dreaded R***air hmm

Charleygirl Mon 27-Aug-18 18:10:26

Welcome Eilyann70 I agree, the vast majority on here are battery driven and never appear to stop. It wears me out reading about all of their activities.

Teddy is seriously scrumtious- he is so intelligent. I agree he does look as though he has a black eye.

ChaosIncorporated Mon 27-Aug-18 18:50:57

Hello, kitchen. Pleased to see everyone seems to be in fine fettle ...with the exceptions of Teddy and MrGD, to whom I send "In The Night Garden plasters" and a manual on knife safety! I hope they have both recovered.
(that was from a quick glance, so my apology to anyone else whose weekend may have had buggerations I have missed.)

soop ...you have added a new word to my vocabulary, and it is fast becoming a favourite.

My very quiet weekend went west with a visit from DD2 yesterday, and DD1 today.
I now have a bag of new school uniform, and an envelope of name labels, to occupy me.
The conversation went thus:
"Mum, please say if you dont want to do it, or dont have time, but I wondered if you could...."
"Of course I dont mind, but do you want me to show you how to do it,again"
"No, you showed me last time, but you do it and it looks professional, and when I do it they look as though they have been put in by O*****!"
"Thats just practice"
"No ( ^wait for it^ ) ....my fingers just dont work that way" !!!!!!!!!

Obviously I put the kit together wrongly, when she arrived! grin grin

Greyduster Mon 27-Aug-18 19:51:26

I think we all put the kit together wrongly, Chaos! My DD is exactly the same when it comes to anything that involves a sewing needle! And I rather think Mr GD would like “In the Night Garden” plasters too, if there are any to spare! The cut is knitting together nicely, surprisingly, but I will keep him away from sharp implements in future!?

ChaosIncorporated Tue 28-Aug-18 07:46:58

At least there were no pieces leftover greyd grin

I am a little wobbly this morning as one of the Horrible Hounds is going for surgery at 8.30. I am sure she "knows", as she hasn't left my side this morning.
They are all telling me that breakfast is late!

cornergran Tue 28-Aug-18 07:55:11

Wishing her well chaos. Which one is poorly? Look after yourself, wobbly is allowed.

Greyduster Tue 28-Aug-18 08:07:03

Hope she’ll be okay, Chaos - keep your chin up ?.
