morethan, my heart just goes out to you - what sad news for you all to cope with. Thinking of you as you try to support them all the only way you can - with a loving mother’s heart. X
Sending good wishes to others who’re struggling too. xx

Dear Soop, please look after yourself.

annodomini Sat 15-Sept-18 00:35:46

Morethan, I can't say how sorry I am for your DiL and all the family. You have been such a good friend to her while she has been going through all that treatment and now this has come as a terrible blow. ((((hugs)))) to all.

janeainsworth Sat 15-Sept-18 01:26:32

I’m so sorry, morethan.

morethan2 Sat 15-Sept-18 06:20:05

Thank you everyone, to those of you who believe please pray for her and this lovely family and those of us that don’t can you please keep them in your thoughts. She has much to live for. I hope that sustains and strengths her for this next battle.
To all of you in the kitchen who are struggling with illness or troubles I want to send you my love and apologies for not keeping up with your news.

ChaosIncorporated Sat 15-Sept-18 06:39:30

morethan ..... there are no words which suffice, when life is so cruel. I am so very sorry for you, and your family. In my thoughts and prayers.

soop ... hoping the antibiotics are starting to take hold? I am going to take a slightly different stance and say that a little time out of bed is good for you, if you are feeling strong enough, as long as you don't DO anything!
Except eat cake, of course!

kitty ... worrying for your friend must be hard. Does she have family who can/will step in?

Also, a hug for panache .... hoping you may be feeling a little better.

And flowers to everyone else in the kitchen with worries, illness, or an overload of cares.
It really does seem to be an awful month sad
x

cornergran Sat 15-Sept-18 06:46:50

You’re right chaos, it does seem a heavy time.

No chance of me getting in the kitchen this weekend, helping one of ours move so up to my ears in ‘stuff’ to sort, carpet shampoo and every cleaning product imaginable. The vendors have left what I can only describe as a tip. He’s devastated. We’ll sort it but oh dear, another of life’s unnecessaries.

So a huge hug to all. I’ll be thinking of you all and back when I can.

kittylester Sat 15-Sept-18 07:02:06

Thank you for all-out kind wishes. My friend's family are sorting things out for her to live near one of her daughters in supported living.

morethan, you are all in my thoughts - your dil has so much to live for - sending positive vibes.

soop, how are you feeling today?

corner, what a pain for you and your son.

I'm off to DD3'S to collect washing and deliver towels!

The kitchen is not a happy place just now. Someone suggested a group hug - a really good idea, I think.

Nannyali Sat 15-Sept-18 08:10:44

I am quite new to this site but I have to say I have never felt such love as I do from this thread . So many of you seem to be going through something at the moment but the love coming from everyone is just lovely . I hope everyone has a lovely day and those that are unwell feel better.

ffinnochio Sat 15-Sept-18 08:24:50

Morethan You’re in my thoughts. flowers

Pittcity Sat 15-Sept-18 08:27:13

Popping in to give everyone a big ((hug))......perhaps just blowing a kiss to Soop in case she is contagious. ?

Greyduster Sat 15-Sept-18 08:46:47

Good morning the kitchen, and welcome Nannyali. I hope we will see more of you. As kitty says, the kitchen is a sad place at the moment, and a group hug is a very good idea. At the risk of introducing an inappropriate note of levity, I just wanted to tell you that I was ‘decorating’ DH’s birthday cake with GS yesterday evening and I had bought two number candles to put on it. He put them on the wrong way round and when I pointed this out to him, he said “well, I think he would rather be 57 than 75, don’t you?” So we have left them. Why not? We ran out of decorations because he ate some of them!

Nannytopsy Sat 15-Sept-18 08:59:50

Morethan such terrible news for you and your family. Kitty sad news too. Soop get well soon.

Charleygirl Sat 15-Sept-18 09:06:10

Greyd I must remember next Saturday that I will be 57! What a good idea your GS had!

Morethan you will have to tka each day as it comes- my thoughts are with you.

corner that is a buggeration. People should not be allowed to do that without consequences. Maybe some photographs to show the solicitor on Monday? I do not know if he can do much after the event. Anyway that will keep you and Mr. C off the streets this weekend because you will be cleaning, cleaning and then doing some more. I do not envy you.

Welcome Nannyali

I hope that life on the ocean waves is up to Galen's usual high standard! I prefer both feet on terra firma because I get sea sick very easily.

Look after yourselves and soop I promised Galen I would make sure that you were taking your antibiotics. They take 48 hours before they kick in.

It is sunny in London again.

kittylester Sat 15-Sept-18 09:06:33

Grandchildren do provide some balance don't they? Persie rang last night to tell us that she got ten out of six for spellings. Good job it wasn't maths!! grin

Many happy returns (today or tomorrow?) to Mrgd. I wonder if he feels 57 or 75?
