It's 50 years since Hey Jude was released. And it's still very popular. I can remember being very excited when a new Beatles record came out and we all rushed to buy it. The salesgirl would ask if you wanted to hear it first, and we stood in a little cubicle listening to the record before we bought it. Oh happy days.
What's your favorite Beatles record?

Glammanana, I used to go to the lunch sessions at the cavern - the bands were practicing - we paid 1/- and never wanted to go back to work- used to hang on as long as possible, then run back to the office in the Cunard building on the Pier Head.

They landed at Speke airport after the first trip to America, and the streets were lined with fans. They were in a black cab and passed very close to me, smiling and waving, all four of them. Didn't even take a photo, but the image is engraved on my brain. Oh the excitement of those heady days. They took America by storm - nobody had the impact they had. Beatlemania!!

Strawberry Fields plus too many more favorites. The Beatles were absolutely the best and even more popular than Elvis in the US. They did take America by storm. I remember watching them on "The Ed Sullivan Show" - the very first time they came to the US.

So many.. Such insight into life for such young men.

When I see teenagers who don't want to get out of bed, I think of..
