The care home remains closed to visitors. It is hoped that it can re-open early next week.

Consultant appointment at Campbeltown hospital tomorrow. Bottoms up!

I shall now wish you all a pleasant evening. I shall return tomorrow afternoon. smile moon

NanaandGrampy Thu 01-Nov-18 17:09:48

Evening all,

First of all , good luck tomorrow Soop hope the consultant can offer some serious help. I love the little pumpkin too !!

I hope it was a fruitful shopping trip Grey!! Ive only been there once and it was quite something.

Sorry to hear 'that man' was causing more upset * Over the hills*! I wonder if we could make up a Grans Hit Team to help. Our ladies are all very skilled ;-) a quick jab with a knitting needle, or a well thrown fruit cake could put an end to his shenanigans :-)

That was exactly how I felt listening to Ella's Mum yesterday anno I wanted to say - slow down- enjoy THIS moment before you rush her on to university lol!!

Its been a dull and disappointing day. The West Wing will not now arrive tomorrow as the terrible weather has put the crew behind by 2 days. So in theory it will now arrive Monday .

Its a small thing in the big picture of things - so I shall just have to wait( impatiently!!)

Nannytopsy Thu 01-Nov-18 17:39:34

Yuk Soop! DH went onto a water bottle as he got fed up with sharing his glass of water with Charlie cat. Charlie now has his bowl of water on the bedside table and walks across our heads several times a night ?. Spoilt? Never!

callgirl1 Thu 01-Nov-18 18:02:23

Yuck Soop, get thyself a cup with a lid. Reminds me of being in the infants and sucking my milk up a straw, something wriggled in my mouth, spat it out and it was about an inch long, horrible looking thing. I haven`t touched milk since.
Beautiful baby pictures, Mila`s so pretty, I love Pumpkin Teddy, and Ella looks so comfy in her beautiful new outfit.
I`m still weary from yesterday, but someone has to do something round here, so can`t rest on my laurels, unfortunately.
Soop, best of luck at the hospital tomorrow. The number of times I`ve been to Campbeltown, and I know there`s a hospital, but have no idea where it is!

callgirl1 Thu 01-Nov-18 18:05:39

That posted without my permission!
I was going to say that I hope that Ann is OK, and once again praise Panache for keeping us in the loop, but please take care of yourself.
Anybody want some sweets? Nobody knocked last night, nobody ever does, but they will the first time I don`t buy goodies.

Willow500 Thu 01-Nov-18 18:38:02

Soop so pleased you’ve finally got an appointment tomorrow – everything crossed you get some treatment and it’s not too traumatic an experience baring all! Glad Mr S is recovering from his mishap – my FIL did exactly the same thing on the door catch, his skin was very fragile due to meds he was on and it took time to heal too. I’ve also done it but yesterday I opened the living room door which hit my foot as I was going through it and I banged the side of my temple on it – still hurts today!

Your experience with the spider would have been akin to one of the jungle challenges in I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! I’d have screamed blue murder – thank goodness you didn’t swallow it (or bite it!!) shock

The photos of all the little ones are so sweet – they do grow so quickly. I do remember wishing mine on to the next stage – now I look back I realise how we miss out on the now stage.

Grey I feel exactly the same about Meadowhall – I used to enjoy going on the train when my husband worked in Sheffield and he would meet me at tea time to bring me home but it’s just all a bit overwhelming these days unless I have a list. I hope you manage to figure out how your camera works and your cold is better.

Panache are you able to sleep in short sessions during the day to try and keep on top of it? It’s not the same as a full night’s sleep I know but it helps to keep your batteries a little charged. I hope your buyer comes through but the thought of moving and all that entails must be daunting.

Corner what a b*** about your filling – it’s bad enough having one done once without having to go back again!

Callgirl hope it wasn’t raining when you had to walk home after your hair do – ringing for a taxi these days seems to be a thing of the past. I rang for one to the station a couple of months ago and was told by one I don’t work that day!!

Jud Georgie is gorgeous – hope your husband is feeling better now too.

I’ve had my coronary care review with the nurse today which went well apart from my cholesterol is a bit high. She also did a memory test which I passed thank goodness – I do worry sometimes about that with both parents having dementia – the question about memorising an address was quite funny though as she chose the town my son lives in so it was pretty easy to remember smile I do have to have a pneumonia jab though which is a bit of a surprise as I’m only 64 but better safe than sorry. My nephew has had pneumonia twice in the last couple of years and he’s only 43 so has paid to have the vaccine.

N&G poor Sam - your dog sitter sounds a star though – maybe it was just a bit of separation anxiety so hopefully he’ll be fine going forward.

I have another lovely picture to photograph when I get it framed smile Alfie blotted his copybook this morning too – something had met it’s demise in the passage during the night. It’s always a worry that whatever it was was brought in and has been left in a strategic place to stand on but judging from the state of the floor there wouldn’t have been much left confused

Mr W is going straight to the bungalow tonight from work with some stuff that we can’t get in the car with the cat boxes – he has to come back tomorrow for his ear syringing – he’s now totally deaf in both ears due to the olive oil he’s been putting in so no doubt is feeling very miserable with himself thank goodness he’s not home so it’s to be hoped its sorted out when he goes.

Have a quiet and peaceful night all. I’m going to make my beans on toast – I can make extra to leave out for those who enjoy them too grin

Charleygirl5 Thu 01-Nov-18 18:41:55

I do hope that the consultant has a plan for you soop because you cannot carry on as at present.

I loved seeing those gorgeous babies and toddlers but dare I say it, my favourite was Georgie. I do hope that she has recovered 100%. She will be joining Hattie, Sam and Mia and any others this birdbrain forgets.

Nannytopsy who on earth would think that you spoil Charlie?! Tara also walks through my hair several times with her claws digging in.

Panache that is good news if somebody is still interested. I am assuming you would have to rent somewhere, otherwise you may lose your sale if you have nowhere to go.

cornergran Thu 01-Nov-18 21:23:39

Evening All. Here I am with a brand new filling. Hooray, except the dentist did a builder impersonation, sucked his impeccable teeth and said ‘it won’t last’. It seems the waiting list for extraction could be 3 months. Think I’ll just make a weekly dental appointment and save the receptionist some work. For now it’s fine, keep everything crossed for me, please.

Oh blimey soop, I coped with finding a large, black spider sat on the duvet staring at me the other morning, but going for a swim in my water glass? Definitely not. Will be sending positive vibes your way tomorrow, hope all goes well for you.

It’s hard panache to find that middle place, isn’t it? Can understand the desire to fill some space, please look after yourself. The potential purchaser sounds positive, fingers crossed here for you.

Your health check also sounds positive willow, hope the syringing restores Mr W’s hearing.

Have you managed a rest today callgirl? Hope so.

Sam’s new friend seems to be a keeper n&g, pleased Sam is fine now. Oh dear, what a shame about the west wing. Being positive, you have the pleasure of the arrival to come.

Loved the photos of the little ones, don’t they lift the spirits?

Hope you’re cold is packing it’s bags to leave greyd, the new camera sounds like an achievement in the purchase. I’m certain you’ll soon get to grips with it. Mr C has a complicated camera, I just use my phone blush

So sorry. My head won’t hold any more about you all. Apologies as ever to those I have missed. Hope ann’s as OK as she can be. Stay warm and well everyone. .

Doodle Thu 01-Nov-18 21:25:05

Dear panache I hope you and your DH get some positive action on your sale. I do wish I could wave a magic wand over you and help you sleep. Nothing worse than staying awake cogitating.
Lovely pics of Mila and Teddy soop. What little charmers. Your spider story is one of my dreads. If I drink water in the night I keep my teeth clenched just in case ?
N&G I do like Ella's bunny outfit especially the little socks ?
overthehills hope the machine will bring the improvement you want for DH.

Doodle Thu 01-Nov-18 21:29:55

soop your sense of humour with all your troubles is amazing. Hope your nether regions are treated with dignity and care.
corner hurrah! At last a new filling. Hope it lasts a long time.
Sleep well all and those who cannot sleep I hope you have some peaceful thoughts.x

Charleygirl5 Thu 01-Nov-18 22:13:32

corner now that you have yet another filling may I suggest that you have liquid refreshments only? Scrambled egg or soup were obviously too much for the filling.

I also hope that you are not paying for each filling because it certainly is not your fault that they keep falling out.

cornergran Thu 01-Nov-18 22:41:08

No, charley, no cost today. Can’t say I enjoyed the process but at least it didn’t damage the wallet smile. So far so good.

Jalima1108 Thu 01-Nov-18 23:19:26

Charleygirl5 it is you!
I was puzzled, thinking this was another poster with a similar name, but I probably missed something along the way
smile

Jalima1108 Thu 01-Nov-18 23:21:53

Reminds me of being in the infants and sucking my milk up a straw, something wriggled in my mouth, spat it out and it was about an inch long, horrible looking thing. I haven`t touched milk since. Oh, Yuk!
Funnily enough, callgirl, I was talking about school milk today with a friend and said that I wouldn't have cared if Margaret Thatcher had been around and banned it when I was a child - warm and horrible in summer, frozen in winter (not so bad).

Greyduster Fri 02-Nov-18 07:12:41

Just popped in briefly to wish Soop luck with her consultant appointment today. I will be thinking about you.

MawBroon Fri 02-Nov-18 07:32:39

Good luck Soop here’s hoping a sympathetic consultant will start the process to put things right for you,
Safe journeys!

grannyqueenie Fri 02-Nov-18 08:04:53

Another nipping in to wish soop well today, hoping you see a doctor who really understands your situation. x

Nannytopsy Fri 02-Nov-18 08:29:48

Good luck Soop. It is a beautiful morning here but I suspect not so good where you are, so take care.

annsixty Fri 02-Nov-18 08:32:32

We are all hoping for a very good outcome from today soop.

Overthehills Fri 02-Nov-18 08:46:06

Good morning everybody, a beautiful one here in the north east of Scotland. Just popped in to wish Soop all the best for today and hoping for much good to come from the consultant. Safe journeys.

Izabella Fri 02-Nov-18 08:49:28

Wishing you a fruitful consultation soop with a satisfactory outcome.

NanaandGrampy Fri 02-Nov-18 08:53:23

Morning all !!

Sods law , this morning the sun is out but they have already rescheduled delivery of the West Wing till Monday!! Hey ho - off to Ikea it is then to buy storage for when it does arrive !!

You may be right Willow , but I suspect it was an upset tummy. Sam , if he has an accident ( and its very rare) knows he has done wrong and instead of greeting us at the door will be in his bed . We never tell him off because we know he tried his best but if you have to go ….. He's looking fine this morning.

Corner you have my sympathy , I am totally dental phobic and the thought of going every week fills me with the same sort of horror as hearing soop nearly swallowed a spider !! OH NO...… now I have that song in my head...she swallowed a spider to catch the fly.....:-)

Good luck today soop ! Hope all goes well.

I thought Id share a couple of photos from an early walk with Sam.... winters coming ;-)

Bellanonna Fri 02-Nov-18 08:56:57

Soop, hope it all goes well. Your recent description of your nether troubles sounded truly awful. Let us know!

Bellanonna Fri 02-Nov-18 09:01:03

N&G, what beautiful autumnal pictures. Keats comes to mind

Charleygirl5 Fri 02-Nov-18 09:01:44

Jalima it is still me. I would be thrown off GN if I told you how the 15 became5- zilch to do with me!

I tried to give my milk away at school or pour it out of the window. What a waste of money and like others I would need to be stuck in a desert for many days before I touched the stuff.

The sun is shining in London but it is cold. I have a day off today (that does not include washing and food shopping) but I am going out with my nephew and his girlfriend this evening for a curry.

Good luck soop.
