Charley, were you always Charleygirl5? I think I must just have never noticed the 5.
Yes, I was charleygirl15 but now just charleygirl5. A long story and not my making.
Those are truly beautiful photographs N&G.
So evocative, "mists and mellow fruitfulness ".
We have a beautiful sunny morning here.
I'm off to Oxfordshire later today, hoping that the GSs will raise their heads from their games consoles long enough to give granny a bear hug. They are so big now that I fear for my ribs. All you folks with wee ones, just you wait!
Well my lot are safely down on the ground and now there’s just the drive home to get out of the way. Once they’re home I hope I can put my stupid anxieties to bed! I don’t know why I can let one of my children go to the wilds of
Timbuctu (he never has, mind, but he is certainly globally well travelled) and not turn a hair, and the others can’t go to the other side of the city unless I am chewing my fingernails to the quick. They are clever, sensible people and I need a good kick up the backside.
N&G I love your photographs - that’s Autumn for me, too! I spent some time this morning reading the online manual for my camera and have come to the conclusion that a twerp like me needs a degree to understand it!!
Charley enjoy your curry this evening. Nice to know you are fully back on the eating track!
Corner at least your dentist has acknowledged that the filling will only be temporary. Mine kept on thinking he could repair the tooth until he was away for one of my appointments and I had to see a colleague of his when the filling failed again. She said “I don’t know why he hasn’t capped it!” I ended up at the dental hospital because I needed a particular sort of anaesthetic injection but they also stabilised the tooth, and then my dentist capped it! I’m sorry you have to wait so long for your appointment. Our dental hospital is pretty much the same.
I’m pleased to say my cold is a lot better - I’ve donated it to DH and he is less than pleased!?
I now have to go and make a cake. I’ll look in later and try and catch up with everyone.
I face rather an uphill battle with such a lovely gathering within our Kitchen since my last visit..........such lovely messages and pictures, these children get prettier each picture.
However dear Soop my thoughts are with you, reiterating my last night`s little message, have a safe journey and hopefully news of some positive action - soon.
Another glorious day which puts aside my dislike of November because this is very uplifting.
Better still no Hospital required today.
I am deeply touched by the many caring thoughts about my lack of sleep, plus yet another much hoped for but now a real conundrum...........two interested parties for our property after such a rough run.
Re my sleeping Willow, sadly no cat naps during the day despite trying everything,it is a standing joke even in Hospital ......I wear out the flooring overnight....the plus side being my legs remain strong!
As for our would be purchasers......one has faded, but now we have a young solicitor starting practise here in our town on Monday, but despite lowering the price on her exististing property, still no sale though her heart is set on our place
(Secretly they are a young couple starting out and we favour them, because with youth on their side, they will do justice to our hard work done over 14 years ,whilst their 2 boxers would love our paddock)
The viewers this weekend have virtually completed on their sale of a farm.............so yes probably want a quick sale........cash buyers yes, but putting us in a real dilemma.
No Sheltered Housing available,no retirement complexes either......of course our eyes follow the For sales and The Lets daily, but in a holiday region the second option would only be until March.
Not an ideal situation when our health is so precarious.
An outsize headache that we just cannot find answers for.
Yet moving to a small place with amenities nearby would give us the peace of mind and less work so we can get on with caring better for our poor unwell selves.
That darn filling is being a right pain in the butt Corner you have my deepest sympathy, perhaps weekly fillings might be the route to take!
You too need to take good care of yourself Callgirl......though it is certainly far easier said than done!!
Enjoy your treat out and your Curry Charley.....sounds a bit of alright to me.
Also great hearing your cold seems to have evaporated GreyD.......and now you need to put those anxieties to rest.
You are not forgotten Ann wherever you are at the mo.
Whilst loving reading all your posts, you will I hope forgive me for at least TRYING to curtail mine!! I have settled in so well, getting to feel as if you are all sat around our table............ and therefore I am soooooo loathe to leave.....do take care and I hope you are all enjoying this November sunshine.
All those journeying stay safe, may the day smile for each one of you.
Morning All. Oops, its sort of afternoon, you know what I mean.
Hang on in there panache something will work out, life has a way of doing so I think.
Oh greyd, how kind of you to share your cold. I'm sure your husband is delighted. Anxiety is an odd thing, no logic to it. One of ours is off early Sunday morning, I will be checking the flight arrival details as he makes his way across Japan and China. Work not a jaunt but no less worrying.
Curry sounds good charley, just the thing for the chilly weather. We've wonderful, bright sunshine but it is flipping cold. Suspect the laundry won't dry too much, but its out there in hope.
There's a poor soul jet washing the block paving paths in our development, he is covered in muck and freezing. Wonder who he upset to be given that job?
Beautiful images n&g, one of my fondest memories of living in Norfolk is the early morning light. Our Norfolk friends are coming to us in a couple of weeks, had hoped to go to them, maybe next time. So far so good with the filling, I'm whispering this so as not to jinx it, next week's menu plan seems to include an awful lot of soft food, wonder why?
]
Been thinking of our soop and hoping for positive news for her.
Right, I'm off. Theres a 90% completed jigsaw in the conservatory, Mr C has disappeared towards it, he will not finish it alone after all my hard work.
It is a glorious day here very welcome after the dismal rain of yesterday.
I have just bought myself a “puffer” coat, makes me look the Michelin man but who cares - I intend to be warm this winter, beasts from the East notwithstanding.
Panache I , like you, have “favoured” one prospective purchaser over another in the past but house sales are so unpredictable, I would be tempted to say “first to exchange of contracts” . It may be that the young couple are prepared to consider a longer completion period to help you to find the right place, but would renting not be an option over the Winter?
Birds in the hand and all that.
Hoping that assorted sniffles and lurgies are on the wane and that November turns out to be better than its reputation
“No sun, no moon
No morn, no noon
No dawn, no dusk - no proper time of day
No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease
No comfortable feel in any member
No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees
No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds
November!” ???
Hello everyone! I am still keeping an eye on everybody but my ability to reply deserts me by the time I've finished reading all your posts.
And, then I read lovely long posts from panache and am amazed by her resilience when I only have a 'bug' to contend with.
soop, I so hope that there is an answer to your problem and soon.
corner, just go gently on that tooth. Your wait for an appointment at the dental hospital is not too bad - last I heard it was over 6 months round here.
DS1 was at Sheffield Uni and we went to Meadowhall when it first opened - I've not been back!!!
Lots of lovely photos of babies, dogs and views. I will try to post one of our 11year old grandson and his sister 10. I don't think I would have opened the door. DGS then stayed with his friend and watched 'The Woman in Black' which terrified me!
Our local florist is running a flower arranging course this afternoon which I want to go to. It's a fabulous shop with great staff and she is trying to set up another income stream. If I am not exhausted by a little gentle flower arranging, I will be back later.
Sorry for everyone I seem to have ignored.
We have arrived home at last. MacSporran and I are going to show his wound to the GP. Just to be on the safe side.
I've no time to read all your messages but, if I can get the Kindle to operate properly this evening I shall do so then.
The Consultant Surgeon was charming and very helpful. I've signed forms to have two "oscopies" and, depending on the results, he feels that there will be a procedure that will be of great benefit to me. We now take the matter from hereon. A new experience, that hopefully will relieve the worst symptoms. I must wait my turn. That's fine. I now have hope and that counts for a lot.
Before I dash...the cat called last night. The dish had been licked clean when John went out to feed the birds. We He has bought a large bag of Pureena cat food (for Tabby) and a cut-price, special-offer, stash of shortbread...^the Crows like to share a finger of shortbread with their breakfast!^
soop that is really good news- hopefully lists will not be too long in your neck of the woods and you will get the oscopies sorted soon.
My bet still stands- that cat will be a house cat next year. If the crows are being fed so well, Tara and I will be on the next train.
soop I’m glad you’re back and that things sound optimistic. Even if you have to wait a bit. At least things are moving at last!
I bet you were really excited to see that the food had gone. I can see a new addition to the MacSporran family on the horizon!
Panache fingers firmly crossed for some good news on the house front. One good thing is that the traffic will be different at this time of year.
soop - I hope the waiting list isn't too long. You've been waiting for years anyway?
I'm on a waiting list for 2 front prolapse/hernia repairs, but TG mine don't give as much trouble as yours. I just look as if I've become male in old age, growing 2 testicles.
Bon weekend to all, hoping this beautiful weather continues.
soop that's great news, I hope you don't have to wait too long for the procedure! ??
GP redressed MacSporran's wound. He's to return asap if any pain develops. Or, go straight to A&E. In the meantime, I shall redress it on Sunday. He then returns to the surgery on Wednesday. It looks awful BUT it isn't painful. Such a very kind doctor. We're lucky to have him.
I will indeed read through the all messages as I relax this evening. I hope that you will understand that I've other domestic "stuff" to attend to right now.
Positive news Soop, just hope you don’t have too long a wait. ??I’m with Charley about Tabby!
And ??crossed for you too Panache. It would be great to have that sorts and then you and DH can really look after yourselves.
We’re having curry too Charley - Thai for us.
You’ll look fab in a puffer Maw!
Well that’s good news, Soop, and hopeful! I hope you don’t have to wait too long. These things are distressing. Good that your doctor is keeping a weather eye on MacS and I hope he is on the mend soon. Your bird and animal visitors are properly spoiled by the sound of it? Shortbread biscuits for the crows? I will be heading your way for my share! Forgot to say how charming the photos of Mila and Teddy are - can’t believe how much they have grown!
Panache I join all those who have wished for good news on the house sale for you.??
The vanity unit for our downstairs cloakroom finally arrived late this afternoon! What a saga that has been! Now all we have to do is get the plumber back!
Have a pleasant evening folks.
Making a late night call for me and true enough here you are Soop just where you belong and are safe, warm and loved.
Furthermore I certainly appreciate how the very word HOPE has given you some comfort and you now feel you can wait your turn for the whatsoevers required to be attended to before the bigger problem can be duly repaired..
Thank goodness you have been seen and given the check over and message of hope that I sincerely hope takes you onto your next chapter.
The kitchen has sort of been not quite right without our Host with the mostest!
So now I guess MacS you can and will enjoy your birthday.......Sending you our best wishes and every blessing.
Wishing you all a good evening.
Just finished reading another threads posts but had to stop as the comments were starting to get hurtful.
So to recover I sought out my favourite thread . I love this thread as the people who post on it have such love and compassion in their hearts. So thank you one and all I know if I needed support you would offer love and compassion x
Nannyali we try our best and also try not to stoop so low as other posters elsewhere.
Oh dear, nannyali, sounds as if there is scratchiness afoot out there.
Good news soop, you are so right, with hope we can go on. The last 18 months have been a struggle in corner-land, hanging on to hope has helped. I’m with the others, there will soon be a new cat resident. Wishing macs a very happy birthday for tomorrow, so pleased he is having good care for that injury.
A step forward greyd, the plumber will appear, he has to
.
Pleased you’re getting better kitty, the flower arranging sounds just right.
I could have done with your coat this afternoon maw, the walk to pick up the car was more than chilly.
Feet up time now, stay warm everyone.
Right, first up I am going to be honest. DH and I got rather cold on our walk today and came home and had a little snifter (what folks in Scotland call a wee dram ?) then we had a little more with our evening meal....and now I am a bit tipsy. I have read all your posts but can't really remember who said what and so I shall just wish all of you well and hope you all get a good nights sleep.
Just want to say that sounds like good news from your consultant soop let's hope you don't have to wait too long for your procedure. Many happy returns to McSporran ? is it his birthday tomorrow?
maw I am sure you look very stylish in your puffer coat and not at all like Michelin man.
panache and ann hope you are both ok.
Hello everyone else. I think I may be in bed early tonight....if I can find my way there ?
Just popped in to see Soop's news which is promising indeed - at least something is going to be done so here's hoping the waiting list isn't too long.
I will try to catch up tomorrow- we have two very contented pussycats on the sofas here in the bungalow - why can't they behave like this at home?!!
MR W has had his ears done - hopefully the constant questions of 'what's that noise?' will soon stop
