Developers seem to get away with everything, if they are refused permission to demolish a row of 400 yr old houses they take the roof off, work then gets delayed until the houses are unsafe and have to be demolished, and they get away with it. A small fine doesn’t deter them, they do the same with trees.
Locally that has just happened.
Cherish your memories, sadly I think that so many older houses, especially those with gardens will soon be knocked down and have new homes built on the land.
The government want new homes and the local authorities need the money that the Council Tax brings in, most of the fields around our village have new housing estates on them, most of them large expensive houses, so not even affordable to local families.
