Ann like all of our animals, especially Hattie, she knows how to be comfortable. She is gorgeous and will be a source of amusement and companionship for years.

We have been to see the GP. It is the virus. It appears that MacSporran is about half way through the time it takes to clear the system. I am relieved. I was afraid that his Lymphoma would make life even more difficult for him. Bless him, he let me "pipe up" from time to time.

I send my very best wishes to you all. I am still collecting data ref the family gathering. I've spent far too long on-line but, it was all in a good cause. We now have a date when all family members (including the two wee ones) can celebrate over the course of one rowdy weekend.

I have no commitments tomorrow. Please bear with me until then. I hope with every fibre of my being that I shall have precious time in which to (ahem) catch up.

I now feel able to tell you that as I expected my H has 4 cancerous growths in his bladder.
They may be lowgrade but we have to decide how to proceed.
In most cases this would be either a GA or a spinal to remove them and send them for histology.
In my H's case the risk of an anaesthetic is high because of his age and history.
Leaving well alone may be the answer in the hope that they will not be aggressive.
I am to have a meeting with a Consultant and others on his team to discuss " best interests".
This is a term I have got used to hearing over his admission to the care home.
I will have my own discussion with family tomorrow. The staff were outstanding with us both and he coped with the cystoscopy so well.

morethan what a lovely idea of your DGC to give such a thoughtful gift to their mum. No wonder you had a lump in your throat.

Sorry can’t reply to all I am another with joint pain (no sympathy needed mine is nothing compared to what others are going through). Both wrists playing up at the moment probably because I’ve been overdoing the cleaning (yes truthfully ?). Wringing out cloths is my downfall. Oh for a mini version of my grandma’s mangle ?

That must be quite upsetting for you. A difficult decision to make under the circumstances. Hopefully they will be low grade and not cause him too much trouble. Difficult to know what to think when your DH can’t explain how he feels.

A desperately difficult decision for you Annsixty and one with which I hope your family will give you every possible support.

Ann I am so sorry to hear this. It is indeed a difficult decision. I do not know how old he is but I have got a DNR in place for my mum but she is 98 and the hospital still sent her an appointment for the trauma clinic when she broke her little toe even though it was not bothering her or stopping her walking.
It is indeed something to discuss with the family but interventions in older people often cause more harm than good.

Ann , you are between the Devil and a bad place , as my Mum used to say , the infections were a pointer to what was going on . Oh was on permanent antibiotics due to so many UTIs and they did help . I am sure the medical team wont want to proceed with anything that would distress your poor man

Ann, Molly is a very pretty little girl, aren`t you glad you decided to keep her? So sorry to read about your husband, I hope that your family can help you reach a decision that is right for you both.

Oh dear Anne I apologise for not reading your post with news of your husband before my previous posting. I think perhaps you had an inkling about this. Loving someone makes life so hard doesn't it.

Good evening everyone, thank you for your kindness NanandGrampy, my thumb/hand is a pain, but others have much greater problems and pain. It will be good to finally get the other hand done, but it will probably be four to five months before the actual surgery. My initial appointment is for the end of this month, then I’ll find out what’s what. I requested my former surgeon but unfortunately the GP can’t request a particular surgeon any longer, but she has put in a recommendation that I see the surgeon who did my left hand. I want to get it done this summer so it will be done and dusted before next winter.

Soop, I do hope MacS begins to feel better soon. A horrible wracking cough really is the pits. As an asthma sufferer I know the misery of horrible, won’t clear up coughs.

Ann, those pictures of little Molly are gorgeous, she looks absolutely adorable.
I hope all went well this morning for you at the hospital.

Tomorrow our adorable twin grandchildren will be five years old. I can hardly believe it’s five years since they were born, six weeks early, as one twin had stopped growing. They were teeny little things, one 5lb 7oz and the other 4lb 5oz (though good weights for their gestation.) The bigger twin was in NICU as he was having breathing difficulties, but the other was with our daughter, a tiny, beautiful, little girl. A few weeks later our gorgeous little grandson had more difficulties, after failure to thrive and projectile vomiting, he was discovered to have a pyloric stenosis, which necessitated an urgent operation. It was all a difficult time, but look now, tomorrow they’ll be five years old, strong and healthy children. Thank you to our NHS for the gift of these beautiful children.

ann so sorry to hear your latest news- I hope your family will be a tower of strength.

I’m so sorry to read about your husband Ann but glad that you experienced such good care at the hospital. Thinking of you as you consult both the medics and your family to decide how best to go forward.

Ann, I hadn’t seen your post when I wrote my last one, but I’ve just been reading back through the kitchen posts. I’m so very sorry to read of the diagnosis, I think you’re right to talk to the family before you decide anything, and then see what the consultant says when you go back. I hope the family will be able to go to the consultant meeting with you, and then you’ll still need more time to consider.

ann, your Molly looks a lot like our Minnie. You have the advantage though as Minnie is not a cuddly cat at all.

I have read everything and am keeping up with everyone's news but seem to be really short of time (and energy!) at the moment.

A quick update on my DH. The consultant says that his prostate is not a worry currently but has requested an urgent bladder cystoscopy and another blood test.

I echo everyone's praise and admiration for our wonderful NHS.
