That should keep you going for a while ann. I think k the hospital are at fault for not keeping you informed. Any appointments my mum had came to me and I told the hole. Do you have power of attorney?

Nannytopsy Wed 26-Dec-18 11:10:49

We had to pay for wheelchair taxis for my mum - ambulances not available. I like any kind of gin Ann!

dragonfly46 Wed 26-Dec-18 10:59:30

Ann that is very poor that they did not tell you about the appointment and I am surprised you have to pay for a taxi. My mum is taken to hospital in an ambulance - there is a special company that runs it and they deliver her to the appropriate department. They then bring her back so although I do always meet her there she could in fact go on her own.

Just thought I should mention, in the event that anyone is short of Christmas "spirit" , I received, 1 bottle Bombay Sapphire gin, 1 bottle Rhubarb and Ginger gin, I bottle Gordon's Sloe gin and one bottle of Prossecco.
I already have 3 bottles of Sloe gin "maturing " in a dark cupboard.
All are welcome in the New Year.

harrigran Wed 26-Dec-18 10:40:25

I am in my pjs and I am definitely not going anywhere today.
I am upset for Panache, how dare the hospital discharge a patient without the relevant care in place. Questions need to be asked and I wonder if the newspapers would be interested to know how we treat the old and sick.

annsixty Wed 26-Dec-18 10:33:35

Still in my dressing gown drinking coffee.
My D is in the shower and I will get there eventually.
A day of very mixed emotions yesterday but it was ok.
Fridge to sort out and although I hate the idea, some food will make it into the food waste.
My D is on her own until New Year's eve so she will take some back with her.
Just as I was leaving the care home yesterday the deputy manager said to me " I have booked a wheelchair taxi for 9.30am on Thursday"
Noone had told me he has an appt at the hospital following the bladder scan 3 weeks ago, I am full of anxiety about it.
I will make a complaint when Christmas is over, yesterday didn't seem the right time.

Nannytopsy Wed 26-Dec-18 10:19:27

Are you all sleeping off Christmas or out for healthy walks?!

Nannytopsy Wed 26-Dec-18 08:42:05

Good morning everyone! I hope that Panache and Morethan are coping. SiL and niece coming for cocktails and supper this evening so must tidy up and prepare food. Have a good day everyone

Chewbacca Tue 25-Dec-18 20:38:06

Oh Maw that clip from the Three Tenors has made my day! smile. Time to dig out the Pavarotti dvd.

Brunette10 Tue 25-Dec-18 19:42:26

Just popped in, I hope you don’t mind. Having some relaxation after a happy and enjoyable Christmas Day with DGS1 at 2 and a half and DGS2 2 months old who has been a joy, slept, ate and laughed the whole day. DGS 1 very active but has been absolutely full of fun. Both now bathed, stories being read and hopefully a quiet night. Cheeseboard awaits with a glass of red for us oldies.

I hope all who visits regularly have had a happy and peaceful day. I am well are that it’s not all rosie for everyone, I know that but please accept my good wishes and hope you have managed through your day with your own thoughts and memories that you alone can cherish.

Merry Christmas to you all. tchsmile

Panache I agree with mumofmadboys, if it gets too much ring the emergency services. Are there any churches near by that could offer help?

mumofmadboys Tue 25-Dec-18 17:14:49

Panache if it all gets too much call the on call medical service and ask if a district nurse can come and assess you and say you are struggling to cope at home and need help. Take care x

Late afternoon Christmas wishes to all. Hectic day full of warmth, food and laughter. We’ve been very lucky.

Paracetamol, ibuprofen and a large glass of wine worked for me n&g. Horrid pain.

How lovely to have that photo to treasure ann. Good to have your husband home panache but can only agree with others the lack of care plan is appalling.

I’m so sorry, no more time. Sending a Christmas hug to everyone with an extra hug for those with heavy hearts.

Fennel Tue 25-Dec-18 16:34:46

Belated Best Wishes for today, and a New Year full of hope and better news for all who have problems.
From another lurker.
Reading the last 4 pages makes me appreciate my own situation - not completely troublefree, but TG OK.

Nannytopsy Tue 25-Dec-18 16:19:24

I sang that too Maw! Did you sing the choral version of Three Kings from Persian lands afar? My favourite carol.
Hugs to all x

soop Tue 25-Dec-18 15:55:20

Thank you Missadventure

AnnieBach thank you. We wish you likewise.

I have to leave the computer for the time being. You are ALL in my thoughts. I send you warmest best wishes and peace in abundance.

Until tomorrow. tchsmile moon

soop Tue 25-Dec-18 15:51:07

Panache I am speechless. How on earth are you expected to cope. It is beyond neglectful. I wish that I could contact someone on your behalf.

ann The visit to be with your husband will have hopefully lifted your spirits. Hoping that you manage to uplpoad/download your photo.

annsixty Tue 25-Dec-18 15:38:15

I have visited H this morning and my D took a lovely photograph of us both but I am clueless how to upload it.
I will try.

aggie Tue 25-Dec-18 13:35:32

aggie Tue 25-Dec-18 13:34:33

Watched the service from St Giles , I had recorded it last night , saw my DD3 in the congregation , Granddaughters were in the choir from the Gallic school , then they spoke to us on facetime , sitting with big smile here smile

Anniebach Tue 25-Dec-18 13:20:07

Popped in to say ‘Happy Christmas’ to all x

GrannyGravy13 Tue 25-Dec-18 12:46:22

Thinking of kitcheners who are dealing with all sorts of troubles.

If only we were nearer we could physically help the Panache’s, please keep pestering all and sundry until you get the help you do need.

Keep your strength up morethan you are doing a brilliant job.

Have left fizz on the side with a nice box of satsumas, off to our S and DIL now they have (14) for lunch so should be fun ?????

grannyqueenie Tue 25-Dec-18 12:45:07

That’s exactly my memory of that lovely blessing maw thanks doodle for the reminder.
Warm wishes to all who are celebrating this Christmas time, with or without sore teeth and other irritations! Mindful of some who are keeping half an eye not only on their own troubles but those of others too. Life doesn’t always seem to get simpler as we get older! Wishing happy and peaceful times for us all and those we love this Christmas time.

MissAdventure Tue 25-Dec-18 12:22:09

Happy Christmas, kitcheners.
I hope you all find some kind of 'merry'. smile

Charleygirl5 Tue 25-Dec-18 12:19:37

Panache if Mr. Panache has been sent home without a care package that is bordering on criminal. I am sorry if I repeat myself. Happy Christmas if that is remotely possible.
