Good afternoon to you lovely lot. I'm feeling stressed and a wee bit tearful. Thank goodness you will understand that feeling.

I Googled Lymphoma rash and a huge selction of images came up. MacS's rash was indeed one of them. Now I'm concerned that he may have Skin Lymphoma. Our GP asked me to take photographs of Mac's rash. She suggested that we take them when he has his next appointment with the heamatologist in two weeks time.

Please forgive me for being rotten company. This too will pass. hmm

Greyduster Fri 18-Jan-19 13:17:59

My absolute favourite is calves liver, but, apart from being seriously expensive, if DD heard I had been eating it she probably wouldn’t speak to me again ☹️.

Greyduster Fri 18-Jan-19 13:20:39

Soop try not to put too much faith in Google. I’m sure your medics have seen Lymphoma rash before and would surely have recognised it. {{hugs}}? to you both.

annsixty Fri 18-Jan-19 13:53:31

Chin up soop the medics will have seen that before.
I too googled bladder cancer and scared myself.
We must learn to trust real Drs.

NanaandGrampy Fri 18-Jan-19 14:15:26

Afternoon all,

A speedy visit today as it is Grampy's birthday !!! Yay !! Happy birthday Bertie , great people were born this day -so says Grampy!!

I'm another lover of liver - so set me a place please ann your dinner sounds delicious.

Chin up Soop hopefully it will just be new detergent or something that has caused the rash. How is MacS feeling with the cough now?

I shall be back later for a proper catch up x

soop Fri 18-Jan-19 14:45:45

Happy birthday, Grampy. I trust that you will be Royally treated with bags of TLC x

soop Fri 18-Jan-19 16:47:53

In spite of a severe talk to myself, I remain stressed. I will therefore not make matters worse for the many lovely Granspals in our kitchen who have much more serious issues to deal with.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 18-Jan-19 17:11:58

Soop, please try not to worry about your findings on Dr.Google, surely the NHS professionals that MacS has seen would have recognised a lymphoma rash.

I haven't eaten liver for over 35years, but can remember my Gran cooking liver and bacon and enjoying it.

I apologise for not bringing cake, will bake extra over the weekend and leave on the side tomorrow.

Take care kitcheners and may all your troubles be small or solvable.

Grannynise Fri 18-Jan-19 17:17:45

Soop my DD has lymphoma too and has had a skin lymphoma for about a year, in addition to the follicular lymphoma that she's had for several years. No one seems very bothered about the rash, it seems to be something that, whilst not curable, is controllable. Horrid but not absolutely dreadful.

annsixty Fri 18-Jan-19 17:23:51

Very last word on liver, I promise.
Did your mother tell you to rinse/ soak it in milk before cooking to make it more tender and take away any slight bitter taste?
Mine did and I still do it, but I don't really know if it makes any difference.

Izabella Fri 18-Jan-19 17:26:15

ann I love liver too but cannot cook or handle it raw. It Reminds me of when I worked in theatres for a short time. CH does a lovely mix with bacon and onions.

soop yet another thing for you to deal with. You are entitled to feel stressed, but we are all thinking of you flowers

Izabella Fri 18-Jan-19 17:27:22

.... and it is now snowing

dragonfly46 Fri 18-Jan-19 17:31:23

Soop I have been told categorically by my consultant not to use Dr Google. Things always sound on there much worse than they are.
Of course you are worried but as others have said I am sure all the doctors he saw would have seen it before and recognised it.
Try not to be too stressed - two weeks is a long time.
Sending you [hugs]

Twin2 Fri 18-Jan-19 17:36:41

Ann. Sorry but no liver for me however it cooked but DH would love some.

Had a new bath and chose to have plug in middle - Mistake
When I lie in bath and move (a bit overweight) the water runs out ??.

Best wishes to all those unwell and partners

cornergran Fri 18-Jan-19 17:51:49

Great frustrations here. Long-ish post has vanished. Where do they go????

Sorry can’t hope to replicate it.

soop, I know worry is inevitable, totally understand. Please don’t listen to Dr Google, he’s often wrong. Love to you both.

Is mr Grey being patient greyd? I know to my cost it’s a good idea but oh so hard to accomplish.

Have just recalled things seem to be progressing on the support front panache. About time! Also that you’ve had more problems to deal with dragonfly. Hope you have a less worrying time this evening.

Thanks for the reminder ann, liver, onions and bacon is on next weeks menu. How have we forgotten it?

A late happy birthday to grampy and bertie. You’ll have had a super day with Wolfie kitty. We spent time with our Littlest yesterday, really lifted spirits.

Seriously frustrating and long morning in a chaotic opticians has led to much grumpy down time this afternoon. Did manage a boiled fruit salad cake, there’s one on the side, it keeps well so will be fine tomorrow.

Take care everyone. Get well wishes to all poorly people.

If this one disappears so will I in a puff of smoke grin.

Pittcity Fri 18-Jan-19 18:12:24

Is there any liver left? It's one of my favourites that DH won't touch, so I only have it when eating out.

Galen Fri 18-Jan-19 19:32:00

Annsixty I have pm’d you

MawBroon Fri 18-Jan-19 19:43:30

With Burns Night approaching I am seeing haggis in the supermarket so that was tonight’s supper!
Quite partial to a bit of offal myself and calves’ liver with fried sage leaves and mash a particular favourite.
Please, what is a boiled fruit salad cake? It sounds interesting.

soop Fri 18-Jan-19 20:28:16

Thank you and welcome Grannynise

soop Fri 18-Jan-19 20:38:33

I am feeling more positive. A peaceful Friday evening to everyone.
After a care home visit tomorrow (our pal who is a long-term resident, will be celebrating his Ruby wedding anniversary), I hope to pop into our kitchen. Bless you. Night ?

Bellanonna Fri 18-Jan-19 21:37:38

Wishing you a peaceful night Soop x

maw. Its an ancient recipe. One from my ma in law, an excellent cook and prodigious baker for the Church. It needs a pack of dried fruit labelled fruit salad, most have lots of dried apple and pear. Guess it could be done with any mix of dried fruit.

So. 8oz pack of dried fruit. 6oz sugar. 4 oz margarine/butter . 8fl oz water. 8 oz flour. 8 fl oz water, 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda, 2 tsp mixed spice, punch salt.

Chop fruit. Put butter, sugar, fruit, water, bicarbonate and spice in a saucepan. Being to the boil, boil for a minute. Leave to cool. Add beaten eggs, flour and salt. Mix (stir it together, no need to beat), and cook - 8” round tin. 180 degrees C for about 90 minutes. (Or a bit less!).

It keeps for ages, well, that’s if it lasts.

Sleep well everyone.

Galen Fri 18-Jan-19 22:24:46

Sounds rather like a recipe I have for a boiled fruit cake. Delicious! ( but definitely not slimming)

Galen Fri 18-Jan-19 22:25:38

I make mine in a loaf tin!

Bellanonna Fri 18-Jan-19 22:27:06

I made this the other day. Soaked fruit in tea. I got the idea on here.
