Posters often don’t post for a few days or even a couple of weeks, why is it considered a problem.
I didn’t notice a deleted thread.

Could be she has gone on holiday or is taking a break?

I don't announce my plans to GN. I also think the poster in question is capable of fighting her own battles and is not intimidated by anyone.

I pm d her a few days ago and didn’t get an answer I hope she hasn’t left as she was a well informed, clear minded lady

Either say what you want to on the thread or not at all..

I think if she wanted anyone to know she was leaving she would have told them. I didn't see the deleted thread but assume it was controversial. She would not be the first to leave, give it a break and then come back with a new name

Hope she's just taking a break. She was very active on the News and Politics threads. I didn't always agree with her, or she with me, but her posts were always succinct and thought-provoking.

Hmmmmm. She is a pretty 'nippy sweetie' who sometimes gave other posters a hard time. Maybe she got some nasty PMs from people too chicken to respond to her in a thread?

Perhaps she received unpleasant PMs so blocked everyone.

If you tried to send the message and couldn't then she may have gone.

Unless you had real concern for a poster's welfare e.g. if someone posts a lot about a very ill spouse or parent, or they are known to be ill themselves, I suppose it's an invasion of someone's privacy to speculate as to their whereabouts.

Posters take breaks from GN - some choose not to flounce or announce it!

I was going to post on it but couldn't find it.

Perhaps it depends on what was said about the poster concerned. I don't know. I saw the thread but didn't follow it up.
