I slept slightly better last night, still feel under par this morning but had to rally myself as pregnant daughter is really suffering with migraines and cannot take any medication. Which meant I had to get GS up for nursery and he was extremely reluctant, which is very unusual. I think he senses Mummy is poorly, but he went off smiling hand in hand with Grandpa.

I will miss them dreadfully when they move into their new home, (D's new partner is a really good chap and adores our D and GS, he is so excited about the new baby) I know it is right for them but I collected them from hospital when he was two days old and they have been here ever since.

Will pop back later to catch up with all the comings and goings.

I hope callgirl is enjoying her lovely hotel and if it is a show they are seeing, I hope she enjoys that too.

I wrote a post - I swear I submitted it properly - immediately after Charley's last one. But it has disappeared into the ether. I will do another later when I can remember what I said. Why do these things happen?

Ann, you don't look old enough to have a daughter of such a great age. I met someone who was at school with DS2 the other day. She told me that she had a heart attack a while ago. I was astounded and said that she was too young. She looked at me pityingly and said 'Actually, I'm not far off fifty!' I thought it was me who might be nearing 50 not my children.

I hope the Waldorf experience is as wonderful as it should be callgirl. I hope I haven't missed the final decision on your daughters final hospital. If it is Derby, I can vouch for it. Well, I've got 2 lovely grandchildren from there. And, DD1 has had one or two issues that have been dealt with successfully.

I know I have missed loads of people but please be aware that I am TOYA and I will try to keep on top of things in future.

I think there are so many visitors to our wonderful kitchen these days that none of us should feel obliged to reply to everyone else’s post as someone else always will.
I know soop would be happy for people to pop in and post whatever they want without feeling obliged to respond to all and without anyone feeling left out.
Like many of us I read all the posts every day. Sometimes I feel like posting, other times if my spirits are a bit low, I don’t. I think that is what is so good about our dear soop’s kitchen. We can each post what we want, when we want without the need to feel obliged to do more. As long as we are kind in our thoughts I think all us kitcheners know that we care for our fellow members and sometimes if things are difficult for us we can’t post as often as we would like. The nice thing about the kitchen is that with so many of us there are always stories, tales, humour and pictures and things going on to take interest in every day. I really appreciate reading through others posts. Looking at the pictures, finding out what is going on in my fellow kitchener’s lives and generally having a reason for looking at GN every day. All this is thanks to our lovely soop and her great example of being kind to one another. P.S. and then there’s the cake ? ? ?

A rather splendid day being chauffered by CH. I really enjoyed myself then returned home to hear a dear cousin is dying and another relative needs a transplant. Together with the continued angst amongst some kitcheners (hugs to all) I have been brought down to earth on what was proving to be a clear day for me. Such is life.

Just to say TOYA.
I have been to my GS's school play.
Two and a half hours on plastic chairs did nothing for the btm.
The play was ,as all plays by 10 and 11 years are, like the curate's egg , good in parts.
I can say no more.
My GD came back and is staying the night, it is her half brother, of whom she is very fond, whose performance it was, he of course was brilliant, actually he was very good.?
I am off on an adventure tomorrow, I am meeting a distant cousin for the first time in Manchester.
I am really excited as my mother led me to believe there was no family on her mother's side and I wonder why.
Are there secrets I may find out?

My leg feels slightly better this morning, but I am still not walking properly. Early days I suppose. My GS has offered me the use of his skateboard since I have one good leg to scoot it along! I thanked him very kindly but refused..... He went to his school’s sports awards night on Tuesday - a sort of junior Sports Personality of the Year. It was held at a local hotel and they had to dress smartly. There was a buffet, and a disco. I asked him if he danced and got a sort of strangulated ‘yes’ but when I asked if he danced with any girls, I got a very loud NO!!?
I have a much needed haircut today, but apart from that, a quiet day. Glad all you folks are enjoying your tennis! I will look in later. TOYA.

I smiled at the reaction from your grandson, we get similar from our younger granddaughter, her older sister just smiles enigmatically now.

Friends descending on us today, I’m alternating repeating ‘I will not panic over the food’ and ‘I will not poison them’ . Definitely no need to panic as they are the easiest folk to feed, daft soul that’s for sure.

Whatever it was for, Kitty, it was thoroughly well deserved and well done to him! I won the third year history prize at school and chose a book on archaeology by Sir Mortimer Wheeler. Anyone remember him? And his glorious moustache? It’s a fascinating book and I have it still!
