We didn't have Mothercare in Ireland in the seventies so I used their catalogue to send for things. I had their carrycot on wheels. I would pore through the latest catalogue and choose clothes with great care, as money was really tight. My cousin once gave me a box of baby clothes which had come from a relative in Canada. They were beautiful and I hoped she carry on passing things on, but she didn't. My Silvercross pram was a gift from my parents and it was wonderful.
