Dame Judy certainly knows how to dress. See todays DM.

By the way...look closely. It is definitely Tracey Ullman pretending to be Judy Dench.
That is what she does and very cleverly.
She impersonates people!

ps where's this Gin Bar?
Must be new

Callistemon Mon 29-Jul-19 17:26:00

Oh! We could have arranged a Gransnet meet-up but I will be away overseas!
The Gin Bar what are you like shock - afternoon tea at the Pump Room is more my style wink

lemongrove Mon 29-Jul-19 13:22:54

I will be there in September for a little break away Callistemon but am more interested in the Gin Bar.??
(Forget the pump room.)

Thanks, cc , I haven't been shopping in Bath for years, perhaps a return visit is needed.

cc Mon 29-Jul-19 12:27:26

Yes Callistemon it is. I've not walked along there for a while but I think its still there.

I think by our age, we know what we feel good in, whether we’re fat, thin, short or tall, we can all look good.

I think if you’re happy with your style, you’ll be confident and that’s what really matters.

Barmeyoldbat Sun 28-Jul-19 21:46:18

Seacliffe, I agree the look is lovely, I often wear loose harem pants with a long white shirt on top and use a wrap if its a bit colder. Easy and comfortable to wear anywhere.

I was thinking of Joanna Lumley too, certainly not a larger lady. I really like a lot of her clothes, she looks cool, comfortable and individual. The thin long shirts she often wears open, skim over unwanted lumps and bumps.

I love Judy Dench and aim always to copy her hair style, I also love Joanna Lumley and all the other ladies mentioned but I wear what I feel good in and strangely as soon as I put it on I know (although others may disagree of course). The problem also is that a lot of these floaty things they are wearing are not really suitable for doing the housework in or going for coffee with friends so I dress for comfort and suitability.

Barmeyoldbat Sun 28-Jul-19 14:50:11

Of course, GG54, anything you say.....

MawBroonsback Sun 28-Jul-19 12:57:54

Yes, Barmeyoldbat show GabriellaG54 ( not forgetting the number) the respect she deserves.
No room for disrespect - rudeness and speaking your mind, correcting others’ spelling or grammar clearly do not fall into this category. tcrhmm

Now Now Children lol

Barmeyoldbat Sun 28-Jul-19 12:45:32

I often get called Bob or just Barmey and I accept that. You could call it a sign of affection or not

GabriellaG54 Sun 28-Jul-19 12:33:28

My name isn't Gab, so disrespectful Barmeyoldbat and I was talking from a UK point of view, not of traditional dress worn by ethnic groups in this and other countries.

MawBroonsback Sun 28-Jul-19 11:56:42

Yes Callistemon Big Brother is indeed watching us!

Callistemon Sun 28-Jul-19 11:54:28

No fluff, thanks, Less
It makes me sneeze.

I will never forget the cream angora hat and gloves I was given when I was six
Atishoo, atishoo

Callistemon Sun 28-Jul-19 11:52:18

Is anyone else getting adverts popping up of loose, flowing clothes with artfully arranged scarves?
grin

Lessismore Sun 28-Jul-19 11:51:02

fluffles fluffles scarves bangles fluff fluffles

Maggiemaybe Sun 28-Jul-19 10:48:05

I see the fluffy thread idea went well, Lessismore. grin

MawBroonsback Sun 28-Jul-19 10:34:52

Tsk, tsk

GabriellaG54 Sun 28-Jul-19 10:30:20

I hope you all note the snipey, unnecessary comments made by Mawbroonsback which have nothing to do with the thread but everything to do with being disagreeable towards me.
It might be a good idea to note something written by another GNer (on another thread) see pic.

Barmeyoldbat Sun 28-Jul-19 10:24:03

Sorry Gab this time you are wrong, plenty of slim people wear loose flowing clothes, for one, most of the population of India, Nepal etc. And yes you have written about posters here on GN, myself for one on Christmas Eve for which I reported you to GN.

MawBroonsback Sun 28-Jul-19 09:57:37

Name-dropping, for the use of (or a grander version for those who need it) tcrwinktcrwink
