I almost picked those exact two, Nonnie (Sam Vimes and Corporal Carrot) but couldn't leave out Nobby Nobbs and Fred Colon! I sure miss new DW books in general, and Terry Pratchett's genius in particular.

gmarie I now have an urge to read them all again. I give away most books when I have read them, just keep the special ones as I have so many. Of course I still have all the TPs. Thanks for reminding me of the names.

I too, miss getting the latest Terry Pratchett book for Christmas. It had become a much anticipated ritual.

This is wonderful - I'd actually like to meet Helena (Falco's wife) and his adopted daughter, both of whom negotiate Roman life, and Falco, with aplomb.

Does anyone know whether there will be a final book in the Sue Grafton series?

Nonnie and MiniMoon, I initially read DW paperbacks but used to travel a lot for work and family care needs so started to listen to the audio book editions in the car. The two DW narrators are excellent, although it took me awhile to get used to their different pronunciations of Ankh-Morpork: "ank" as in "tank" or as in "honk". I started with CDs from the library back in the day but ended up getting an Audible subscription.
