You could run down a flight of stairs and not worry about falling ?

Other topics please.

I'd like to be part of a skipping game again.

Grannyknot - and turning sheets ends to middle?

Petra I can still do that too - put the backs of my hands flat on the floor, straight legs as well, so when I tell people I can't see my feet, it's not because the tum is in the way but lack of eyesight!

I feel a bit sorry for GNetters who still don't like their looks - what a shame. I'm pretty chuffed with mine really.

Could sleep properly and roll over in bed!

Hetty58 Sun 01-Sept-19 09:28:58

I can still do all those things!

Grandyma Sun 01-Sept-19 09:29:01

**Bellanonna a Kindle would be a good idea with the backlit screen - I wouldn’t be without mine now.

Sleep soundly happily right beside whoever regardless of snoring, snuffling etc ( coming from me too often).

TATT Sun 01-Sept-19 09:39:50

Oh to be able to run again!

b1zzle Sun 01-Sept-19 09:45:59

Have energy after midday!

Nanny41 Sun 01-Sept-19 10:00:24

All those things, and some others I can think of at the moment.

Remember where I put things.

Not get lost for the right word, people's names.

Lemon
Doesn't everyone? ?
A while ago I had a bad cut on my foot. So I just hobbled to the bathroom to put my foot under a running tap.
That's when daughter went: wow, mum, that's impressive.
I don't know why she's surprised we both go to the same Pilates class and she's always telling me to stop going too far with some exercises.

Bellanonna Sun 01-Sept-19 10:04:12

Grandma, that sounds like a good idea

Bellanonna Sun 01-Sept-19 10:04:51

Grandyma (iPad corrected me!)

I can still touch my toes but kneeling is agony. Walking up hills.
For those that have problems opening bottles - even the push and squeeze type, jam etc jars, ring pull cans, nail varnish bottles etc, Kuhn Rikon do an absolutely excellent solution (a bit pricey but well worth it, excellent quality)
www.amazon.co.uk/Rikon-25047-Opener-Tongs-Plastic/dp/B07PSS5W7X/ref=sr_1_12?s=gateway&crid=1O7UFDVUVHQ1C&keywords=kuhn+rikon+jar+opener&sprefix=kuhn+rikon+jar+opener%2Cundefined%2C270&tag=gransnetforum-21&qid=1567329699&sr=8-12
The Kuhn Rikon can opener is also excellent, opens the can by de-bonding the lid so no sharp edges and never touches the contents so very hygienic.

Wear high heels all day at work, and then go out for the evening and dance into the early hours and having missed the last tube walk all the way home in the same high heels.

How did I do that?

maddyone Sun 01-Sept-19 10:29:16

I remember when I could go out out for the evening and not be thinking of my bed once the clock struck ten.

I remember when I could fasten the buckles on my sandals without huffing and puffing and extreme effort.

I remember when I had all my teeth.

I remember when my babies were adorable little cuddly babies.

I remember sitting up all night with a sick child.

I remember (very well) when my poorly little four year old vomiting all over my bed at 2.00am.

annodomini Sun 01-Sept-19 10:29:30

Could go through airport security without setting off the alarms.

Hetty58 Sun 01-Sept-19 10:30:58

It's a matter of fitness, not age. Too much sitting or lying about is very unhealthy:

When the young girl in the hairdressers didn't offer to help me up after having my hair washed

When I would get up in the morning full of ideas of what I was going to do - and do them

Not wondering if it would be OK to leave a party first (used to be last and more often than not be the one giving the party!)

Badnan Sun 01-Sept-19 10:47:04

Having lots of sex, thinking back I wouldn’t of had quite so many headaches. ?

Legs55 Sun 01-Sept-19 10:48:37

Walk for miles, walk at all pain free would be nice

Could eat anything & stay stick thin would love to be able to eat & not put on weight

polnan Sun 01-Sept-19 11:36:40

Understand your sense of humour here! wish I knew if and when a poster was joking and not joking!

polnan Sun 01-Sept-19 11:37:26

computer spelling ,,

is humour, spelled like this , or humor! surely the latter is americanism?

icanhandthemback Sun 01-Sept-19 11:41:11

Could laugh, sneeze or cough without crossing my legs and hoping.
Could wear shorter skirts without my legs looking like a 3d maze from the protruding veins.
Wear eye makeup that didn't highlight my skin tags beautifully.
Afford a hairdresser so my husband didn't have to cut my hair!
