Well, the usual suspects have well and truly hacked me to bits and rightly so...in their view.
Not content with making a banquet never mind a meal, of my OP, you have judged me as flaunting my 'wealth' when you k ow notbing about my reason for going to the Virgin Lounge indeed I've never set foot in the place before.
I certainly was taken aback at the interior (too blingy for my taste but I don't live there) and the interior and service was what I commented on.
Has no-one on GN commented to friends or family about the cabin and public rooms on a cruise liner? Have you or your AC or GC never posted pics on social media from luxury holidays abroad or lovely restaurants they've visited or special occasion dinners they've been treated to?
You talk about Ferragamo boots as if I paid the earth.
They were bought years ago in Cambridge when I was still working and cost about £250 in a sale.
I mentioned this months ago on a thread to do with, I think, clothes/ shoes.
Many of you post about cruises planned for this year and next, costing hundreds if not thousands of pounds. You also tell of new bathrooms; having a designer draw up plans for a new bedroom for a GD; decorating from top to bottom and buying new furniture and carpets, none of which comes cheap.
It never crosses my mind to think that the poster is 'showing off'.
They are facts, events you are looking forward too yet, if I get pleasure from buying something under £100 or even years ago, £250, I get vilified.
I wonder why.
I do live in a large period property but only in part of it, a 2 bedroom flat, as I've mention months ago elsewhere and it's not mine, I rent it.
I get laughed at for being a cheapskate and shopping in Primark (sweatshops and buying poorly made goods are frequently mentioned in the same comments) but if I mention anything remotely approaching M&S prices or, heaven forbid, my one Sahara foray, then I'm reminded of the homeless, food banks, people on low incomes who struggle blah blah...and given advice in spending less and giving to charity.
I think it's time you looked at yourselves and the things you write because you really have no idea about me. You have several pieces of a jigsaw but you haven' t got the full picture. What you don't know, you are assuming and supposing...and judging.
You carry on, it doesn't affect me in the least. You know full well that I speak my mind and never distance myself from the truth but I don't tell you everything about me.
Knowing what I now know about some posters, to do that would be to give you access to the knife block and I'm not that daft.
BTW, anyone with £25 to save can go any time into a Virgin Lounge anywhere.
Not so posh...eh,?
Enjoy your weekends ???
