Scarves, what is it about them..?

In the light of the many serious threads on GN at the moment, I thought I would post something light hearted and vacuus.

I decided to tidy out the hall cupboard today. In it was a huge curver box, overflowing with scarves of every colour, pattern, weight etc. I'm too embarrassed to say how many. blush
I even bought four in Rome last week, the fact that they were only 2 Euros each, may have influenced me. grin
They were a bargain, of surprisingly good quality, but I didn't really need them. Basically they seduced me with their vibrant colours! smile

Does anyone else share this obsession? I know Nan Kate does, as she has previously mentioned it!

Scarves, yes yes yes.....! Too many and love them. My favourite type is a thin cotton weave with various of 'my' okours and goes with everything. Its sheer but wide so it feels warm around ny neck. I have a very faded sea salt scarf that I can't bear to part with. X

Remember the vintage ones which were chiffon/nylon with a gold thread running through ? I must have had one of every colour going----which were my late SiL's. Well they all " vanished " when I moved house and I often think about them and miss them too as they matched everything I had to wear.

I remember the chiffon scarfs, not long scarfs but square, and when we had rollers in our hair( in the 60's ) the rollers got stuck in the chiffon and pulled the threads...

I have lots of scarves, mainly floaty ones. I don't like the really big ones or pashminas much, but I do wear them occasionally (eg if I haven't got a jacket to match my outfit & I feel too dressed up to wear a cardie or everyday coat, a large scarf will keep me warm & even dry in a light shower).
My storage isn't the best though - in the cupboard under the stairs over a rail or in plastic bags. Needs sorting out when I finish the 101 household improvements I'm currently working my way through.

Reported, but actually I have enjoyed reading through this OLD thread and seeing familiar names!
Jura2, Chewbacca, BigLouis, Lona and many more - where are you?

I'm sure I saw Lona posting the other day.

This may be an old thread but so many much missed posters.

A girl can never have too many scarves!
