Good morning everyone from a dry and bright Essex by the sea. I spent a lot of yesterday making phone calls arranging 'things', I hope they all pan out !!!
I'm off out later to buy a few bits for the kitchen, not much else planned today.
Love to Gillybobs and anyone else who has worries.
Hopefully a pleasant day to you all.

Lisagran Wed 23-Oct-19 08:36:06

Oh Gilly - poor you, what a horrid time you’re having. A shame about the room as, as you say, a bright cheerful room would help everyone. Does sound as if the hospital are doing their very best. Thinking of you x
Bright and clear here in Hele Bay, Devon. We walked over to Ilfracombe harbour yesterday to see the Damien Hirst sculpture “Verity” - it’s huge!! (See pics) Might go to Arlington Court (NT) and / or Rosemoor (RHS) today.
Best wishes to all unwell

Waiting for the hairdresser to come and cut DH’s hair and then I have to take him to the dentist. This afternoon his Latin group meets here so tea and biscuits for a lovely group of about ten.

Thinking of Gilly.

Good morning from Bridlington, bright start to the day, walk along the beach planned, then afternoon tea for the 4 big ‘girls’ of our party. The small girls will be at the mercy of DP, DB3 and DN1; then again that could easily be the other way round. DN3 has gone off early this morning back to work in Surrey. Wish everyone has the best day they can.

Much love to all, especially Gillybob from sunny Colchester.
It looks like the GN flying squad would need to add decorating to it's remit.....

Greyduster Wed 23-Oct-19 09:28:11

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very misty South Yorkshire. We were going out for lunch today and then a walk, but if the mist doesn’t clear, it will just be lunch!
?? for Gilly. Have a good day folks.

Nannytopsy Wed 23-Oct-19 09:34:05

Good morning everyone. Another night of disturbed sleep, then not waking until 9. Baking today for my cousin’s funeral tomorrow. He was my aunt’s carer and his sister now has her to look after (aged 99) plus her own husband with COPD.

Pantglas2 Wed 23-Oct-19 09:38:34

Blue skies here in north Wales and a good morning to all.

Here’s hoping for good news for everyone and congrats to mr & mrs nankate.

Up to dad’s for some apples and jam jars to make some more blackberry and apple jam (where do they all go? oops - I know, I keep giving the stuff away!)

Cinema later to see Official Secrets then a meal out so no cooking today!

MawB Wed 23-Oct-19 09:39:28

Just popped in to see how Gillybob is and check on you all with health or family problems and send my love and good wishes.
I have woken up late after the most awful nightmare about two couples on the point of coming to dinner, while I was still in PJs and the meal wasn’t made. I tried to tip some apricots into a lamb stew but they turned out to be liquorice allsorts. And the cooker wouldn’t come on. Know the sort of dream?
I woke up exhausted at 8.30 - but the upside was that nobody seemed to mind in my dream, Paw was in it too and had come up with some ingenious but unlikely excuse to our guests about a lengthy power cut during the afternoon .
Wondering what it says about my subconscious.
I do wish all of you with worries, peace of mind, healing for those who are poorly and a pleasant day to all. flowers

Nortsat46 Wed 23-Oct-19 10:20:55

Pleased to hear gillybob’s update, though recognise how exhausting and worrying it is to be waiting for any progress ... sending good thoughts to her and DH for today.
Lisagran thank you for the photos of Damien Hurst’s Verity, it’s amazing.
MawB, I recognise the type of anxiety dream you shared, but the bit about tipping liquorice allsorts into the lamb casserole really made me laugh (sorry).

I have got financial issues to sort today, with some people who are not doing their jobs as effectively as they should be... grrr.

Good thoughts to all, especially those facing challenges. ?

Good Morning All x
Lovely and sunny but I've done something stupid-----send the men in white coats !
My first thought was to strip the bed and get the sheet/pillowcases washed and out in the breeze. It's " doing " in the machine as I write.
I changed the damn bed last Friday ! Ah well never mind, as long as I don't do it too often.

Hang in there Gillybob. A patient can spend weeks in a coma and eventually come out the other side. It's a dreadful worry for you and you have my thoughts daily on here along with everyone else's. x Keep talking to him.

Asda was a place of confusion yesterday as there's re-fitting going on in the shop and everything had been shifted around so it took me twice as long to get around. By the time I got home I felt quite worn out.

Some decent news for Dragonfly, not so for Marydoll for the time being. Keep going girls !

Enjoy the day if you have this lovely sunshine.

BlueSapphire Wed 23-Oct-19 10:25:12

Good morning all from a lovely bright and sunny Northampton morning.

I am really late this morning! Woke up at 6am for the bathroom but made myself go to back to bed and slept in until 8.30 - unheard of for me! Then I had to take my once a week tablet, so no cup of tea for at least half an hour afterwards. So filled in the time by doing my Sainsbury's order on the laptop.

Managed to get the back grass cut yesterday afternoon, and will attempt the front later on after today's health walk. Bathroom fitter did not turn up yesterday so will phone him later.

Hugs to all with troubles, and happy anniversary to Nankate.

The news of those poor people found dead in the lorry is making me cry, I'm so upset.

Mapleleaf Wed 23-Oct-19 10:28:32

Good morning everyone,

It's been a misty start but the sun is trying to break through now.

I'm meeting my friend for coffee and catch up at a nice local cafe in a while.

Thank you for updating us gilly. Like everyone else, I'm thinking of you and your DH and sincerely pray that he starts to show signs of improvement very soon. I hope that you are managing to get some rest yourself and eat properly, hard though that will be. Take care of you, too. ?

That was quite a dream, MawB - it will have been a relief to wake up!

To everyone feeling unwell or sad today, I send a virtual hug and ?.
To those of you with nice things planned, enjoy.

Well, I'd better sign out now and get myself ready for meeting my friend.

Urmstongran Wed 23-Oct-19 13:51:20

Good afternoon everyone from sunny South Manchester. I didn’t have time to post this morning as we had to be out by 7am ? as our youngest daughter was driving over to a speed awareness course (❗️) instead of taking points and we were to mind the children till lunchtime.

We took them to the park before lunch then straight to eat at a local cafe where mummy joined us. She told us a very famous ex Man Utd player was on the course too!

Hope the rest of Wednesday is kind to us all, especially the gillybobs x

glammagran Wed 23-Oct-19 14:29:52

Spent a wonderful day at Stourhead yesterday. I keep seeing photos in newspapers; it truly is spectacular in the autumn. I managed to walk 3 miles yesterday which is probably furthest I’ve walked since being told I’ve got severe osteoarthritis in left hip several weeks ago following X-ray. Physio told me I’d lost a few cms in length from left leg as a result which I hadn’t even realised. I can’t even get a consultation with a hip specialist till next year. Has all come on very suddenly.

My very best wishes to Gillybob, Marydoll, Dragonfly and everyone else who needs them.

NanKate Wed 23-Oct-19 14:55:07

Thanks for all the good wishes folks.

Gillybob we are all with you on this sad journey. I hope that the antibiotics finally kick in. What a terrible time you have had. It appears that you are in all our minds.
