Giving flowers

I do realise that what I am going to say may gain some criticism and I need to say I am very grateful for the thought, but..
My GD's Aunt came to see her last week and she brought me flowers.
It was a kind and welcome thought ,however the "flowers" consist of those small ornamental cabbage things, I don't know what they are called.
It also includes two stalks of lillies and something else I don't recognise.
My point is I would never give them to anyone as I just don't like them.
In my opinion they are not attractive, the stalks are thick and look as if they should have Brussels sprouts attached.
I have them on display as they were kindly given.
Do you give flowers you wouldn't choose for yourself?

I like most flowers and am pleased when I have them. I do like lilies but can’t have them now I have a cat. When I stay with my friend I always take flowers and wine and she does the same for me.

My absolute favourite are tulips. DD2 has bought me a large bunch for Mother’s Day every year since she could pay for them herself. ( started in senior school with her pocket money she is now 36) It is now a lovely tradition between us . She hates flowers in a vase so I’m never able to buy them for her. ( beer or chocolate works instead)

Personally I dont mind the cabbages but HATE lillies

But I know other people who think lillies are the "good" bunches
