Gonegirl the charity was not founded by my daughter, but by one of the other military widows she knows.

Out of the blue I've just remembered that in the first year of Gransnet the singalong we did was in aid of Scotty's Little Soldiers. I've found a link and I'm going to put it on a separate thread in case people don't spot it on here.

merlotgran a recent post shared by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, highlighted the work of nine organisations dedicated to helping others under the theme '12 days of Christmas' - one of those mentioned was Scotty's Little Soldiers.

My grandson continues to receive help from the organisation following his daddy's death in Afghanistan. He's almost ten now and is beginning to process events in a different way, so it's a boon knowing that if specialist counselling is needed Scotty's Little Soldiers will be on hand to help.

I seem to remember it was well done grannya's daughter. Something this good came out of something so sad.

I assume only in the same way that the rest of us ask for support for our favoured charities.
I would think it would be an impossibility to support all charities all at the same time.

Are they patrons? Not sure what 'backing' is supposed to mean in this context'. I know Harry and Meghan support Scotty's Little Soldiers because it's one of the charities that benefitted from donations marking their wedding but why a list?

At this time of the year there can't be a charity in existence that isn't grateful for donations so are H&M asking us to favour theirs?

It really is a wonderful little charity and I'm delighted it's getting so much support from the Sussexes.

People often assume that there is far more help for bereaved military families than is actually the case and there are always gaps in provision. Nikki and her amazing team at scottyslittlesoldiers.
