Melania is the only good thing about Trump isn't she? *Title changed by GNHQ*

Loved how good she seemed with the kids at the primary school today, helping them to make Xmas decorations and wrap presents for charity. She seemed very relaxed. Really enjoying herself.

Never eaten an English mince pie either!

What, the woman who owns sweatshops and nepotistically lives off her father's fame (who in turn is worth LESS than what he inherited)?

Or were you being ironic?

SueDonim Wed 04-Dec-19 20:02:03

Did you mean Melania? But yes, I do agree! She looks a different person when she’s away from her husband. Wonder why that is? hmm

quizqueen Wed 04-Dec-19 20:14:43

GagaJo, do you check every time you buy clothes where they have been made and whether the sewers have been paid a fair wage?

Alima Wed 04-Dec-19 20:21:19

quizqueen, think that may read better as “whether the people who sew” etc. Do agree though.

lavenderzen Wed 04-Dec-19 20:21:55

I liked the coat/cape she wore when they arrived.

Jane10 Wed 04-Dec-19 20:27:19

quizqueen - I do check that any clothes I buy have been responsibly sourced and workers rights are respected. They cost a bit more but last longer.
I've seen the garment factories in Bangladesh ?

Gonegirl Wed 04-Dec-19 20:45:45

Oh my gosh! Yes, I meant Ivanka.

It's quite easy to muddle them up. hmm

merlotgran Wed 04-Dec-19 20:46:55

I can't say I liked the coat/cape thingy. It was massive and looked like some sort of high-viz protective clothing. Shapeless!

Gonegirl Wed 04-Dec-19 20:47:15

Oh God. I've still got wrong. Melanie.

Knew I shouldn't have started this thread. ?

merlotgran Wed 04-Dec-19 20:47:31

And Camilla looked like she'd dug out an old school uniform from the back of a wardrobe.

Gonegirl Wed 04-Dec-19 20:48:18

That was predictive text. Not me.

SueDonim Wed 04-Dec-19 20:56:49

Have you been imbibing the alcohol intended for the mincemeat, Gonegirl? grin

Gonegirl Wed 04-Dec-19 20:59:43

I've been eating mince pies made with the mincemeat. It has got loads of alcohol in it. grinblush

Gonegirl Wed 04-Dec-19 21:00:51

Was funny Princess Anne didn't want to shake hands with him.

sodapop Wed 04-Dec-19 21:04:46

I thought she was a bit unsteady on her feet a couple of times. Charitably it may have been her high heels.

M0nica Wed 04-Dec-19 21:05:43

I thought that yellow outfit very odd. Princess Leia meets the Wicked Witch of the West.

She doesn't look the happiest woman in the world. I feel when Trump steps down, she will step up and demand a divorce.

She cannot be bothered to look cheerful even when she is meeting famous people and standing by them as their equal. Many a major politician/celebrity would give their right hand to be in her postiton. She looks like the recalcitrant child being forced to be photographed with lots of old aunts: awkward and ill-at-ease and sulking because she wanted to go swimming.

merlotgran Wed 04-Dec-19 21:06:21

DH asked why Melania was hanging on to Trump as they were coming down the steps from the plane.

I suggested he look at her heels when she got to the bottom. grin

Gonegirl Wed 04-Dec-19 21:23:34

She looked really happy with the children at the school.

Gonegirl Wed 04-Dec-19 21:26:27

I liked the yellow cape.

merlotgran Wed 04-Dec-19 21:44:37

I agree she looked happy and relaxed with the children.

I think the cape would have looked good at a garden party....in the rain!

Calendargirl Wed 04-Dec-19 21:47:16

She is very unusual looking, very striking. Wonder what they talk about when they’re on their own?

She always looks very stylish. America can be very proud of their FLOTUS. Skirts are always below the knee, fabulous figure, vertiginous high heels and a warm smile.

inkcog Wed 04-Dec-19 22:04:41

Why would you be proud of a woman because she has a good figure?

How odd.
