My GC's Grandfather died today , he was 92.
They were going to see him while they were here but neurotransmitter told them not to, he was too ill !!
I think that is sad but they were not the most attentive GP's , haven't seen them for about a year and only once a year or less all of their lives.
Very sad though.

Hello Soop and kitcheners??
Well we missed Christmas due to having flu.We were unable to get medical help as according to 111 they couldn’t help us as they do not accept calls from welsh patients and the welsh emergency service couldn’t take our call as they don’t take calls from English patients.At one point we survived on water from the bathroom tap as too weak to go downstairs.Anyway although still unwell,I feel we have turned a corner??
I think what has affected me the most is realising that we are very alone.We spend a lot of our time helping others but have been totally alone during this time.My daughters mother in law is bringing us some supplies later,so kind of her as it is quite a drive for her.I don’t think I have ever felt so low and scared of the future.
Sorry for moaning,you lovely lot are the only ones who listen.x

Goodness susan, I’m so sorry. You’re definitely not moaning, you must have been very scared and I can understand your fear for the future. I’m sorry I don’t understand if you live in an isolated area, maybe on the English/Welsh border but wherever you are there should be medical advice available, it’s appalling you had nothing. I don’t know what to say about you falling through a hole in the system other than when you can bear to contact your MP regarding the system failure and ask your GP practice which service should respond to you, there’s a hole in their out of hours system too. I’m relieved you’ll get some supplies later from a caring person, please be careful, rest as much as you can. It takes time to recover from flu. .

Oh dear, Susan what a miserable time you have had and I hope that the New Year is better for you both. It may leave you feeling exhausted so take care of yourselves.
I'm not sure where you are but it is possible to access certain services either side of the border eg minor injuries etc in an emergency but only if you can get there or by GP referral. The 111 and 999 ambulance service are abysmal in areas of Wales.

The weather is as good as it gets. Bright sunshine and a sparkling dusting of frost.

First thing, a mother deer and her two youngsters came to our fence. I managed to take a photo to share with you.

On our stroll we met a group of three friendly visitors from the USA. A party of seventeen are renting the big manor house on the outskirts of the village, We have been invited to drop in when passing.

We shall remain in our home this evening. It's our favourite place on earth.

Susan56 Your experience over Christmas was an utter disgrace. If possible, take corner's sound advice. You have been let down big time.

Thank you for your kind messages and advice.I hadn’t thought about who to contact but will definitely take corners advice when we are feeling better.We are not particularly isolated just seem to be in a strange no mans land.We are sent to Wales for some appointments and England for others.We have always managed but I think everything fell apart as we were both so ill.We love where we live but haven’t felt very secure the last week.Think we have some big decisions to make when we feel up to it.

Susan When you are well agin, you will be able to rationalise and decide what is best for your future well being.

Susan what a bad experience, I can understand how unsafe you felt, it can be frightening to feel so alone.
Please complain so no-one else finds the same situation ,although of course this must have been a frequent occurrence.

It is a lovely day here, mild and sunny.
I enjoyed coffee out although our usual venue was closed and then my friend dropped me off at Sainsbury’s as I could not get a delivery slot.
The car park was absolutely heaving, with people directing traffic, but strangely the store was not busy at all, sadly not much choice on the shelves, I couldn’t get a full shop.
I hope the poorly ones feel better soon.

Susan I agree with others, when you are feeling better you must make waves re your experience because that is not acceptable. Horrid that both of you were so ill but good that there were the two of you.

soop the deer looks so friendly but would run a mile if you went close. My eyesight is such I cannot see her babies but I believe you! Please rest and put your feet up.

I popped into my local Waitrose for a loaf of bread and it was heaving. Looking at the number of goods piled in trolleys I would have thought this store was closing down for 3 months. I was pleased to get out and home.

It has been miserable here all day but at least not cold. After tomorrow each day is a day closer to spring.

It is so grey here but dryish.

I did ask the security guy if the store was open tomorrow and he said no. There will be plenty of independent shops open. Some are open on Christmas Day with their fruit and vegetable stalls taking up the pavement.

Charleyg Both photos are of one youngster. If we approached the fence carefully, they would remain. They somehow know that we mean no harm.

Callistemon I for one will be delighted when the world calms down and stuff gets back to normal. Ever since early September the hype gradually becomes manic. Enough said!

Another old word for you...'Quiddle' ...To waste time on trivial matters in order to avoid doing more important things. I am a champion 'Quiddler'.

My pal needs me to help with the ironing tomorrow. Okay with me. I doubt that we'll be too late to bed. In fact, it will be good to see her again.

IT is an extremely strange light outside here. The sky is dark (its 11;am) with a feint orangy tinge. CH has been looking at wind directions and time lapses and reckons it may be something to do with the fires in Oz. He may well be right as I am getting a little wheezy this morning. WE shall see.
