I have sent a reply to the nursing team to thank them for letting us all know about the Panaches, and to give them everyone's love and good wishes.

Congratulations to you and the parents to be soop, the photo of Mila with the scan pic is one to treasure.

Safe journey grannyquennie
I bet Sam looks really cute after his trim * n&g*.
Chicken pleased to hear that Baker is doing well.
It has been a busier day than we anticipated so aiming for a relaxing evening.

lins thank you so much for letting us know. I had feared the worse not having heard from them for some time. Nice to know they have support all round them now.

soop Mila is lovely. How exiting another new baby.

Charleygirl5 Thu 13-Feb-20 19:02:11

Thanks Lins for the update on the Panaches.

Mila is looking so happy and hopefully, in August, she will be able to cuddle her baby brother or sister. If she was told now she would be expecting to see the baby every day.

* N&G* do not forget storm Dennis is coming our way this weekend. I have stocked up with food today and intend to stay indoors until Monday evening when I am going out
with friends for a meal locally.

chicken I am delighted to hear that young Baker is slowly returning to his normal life. Good that he is now requesting food instead of turning away.

soop it is a long story but I do not pay for the minicabs there and home again so I leave it to somebody else for a change to say a few words. The company is under contract to that hospital so they are less than conscientious.
corner that is so sad when that happens.

callgirl1 Thu 13-Feb-20 21:50:53

Thank you Lins for the update about the Panaches, Mrs P has been very much missed.
Soop, Mila is a little sweetheart!
You may remember my post earlier this week about my daughter`s arm problem. The hospital said fracture after the first x-rays, then later on no fracture after the second x-rays, and sent her home as fit. She`s been in agony all week, and we`ve really struggled to cope. Daughter 2 has been in contact all week with our GP`s surgery, the practice nurse said the hospital should have sent the x-rays and notes to them, but hadn`t. She rang my daughter today to say that they had at last received the x-rays from the hospital, and they clearly show a BROKEN ARM!! Someone from the surgery is coming to see Lynne tomorrow to assess her condition, increase her pain relief, and sort out follow up visits and treatment that the hospital should have done last week. My youngest son says to sue the pants off `em, but somehow I don`t think kit would do any good. My daughter is, however, going to contact PALS tomorrow.

callgirl1 Thu 13-Feb-20 21:51:50

it, not kit!

Nannytopsy Thu 13-Feb-20 22:26:08

Callgirl that is awful for your poor daughter.
Glad that we have had news of the Panaches, although it is such sad news.
This is my prize winning cup cake -WI! There is a tray of them for you. They do have real Pimms in them!

Bellanonna Thu 13-Feb-20 22:32:44

Callgirl how awful. Poor Lynne. I’m glad she’s getting some help at last but you must all be feeling angry. I hope things start to improve for her from tomorrow.

Bellanonna Thu 13-Feb-20 22:33:50

Very stylish cake, Nannytopsy!

Urmstongran Thu 13-Feb-20 22:35:27

Just bobbed in to say goodnight. We’ve been grandchildren minding today to help out in half term. Jiggered! Had a lovely shower after supper, clean pj’s on and no need to set the alarm for silly o’clock tomorrow as it turns out son in law can be home.

My bed is calling me.... I’m going, gratefully. Will just pop two paracetamol on the way for my aching knees!

Hats off to all you grans who do this (and more) on a regular basis!

MawB Thu 13-Feb-20 22:44:46

Poor Lynne and poor you Callgirl - honestly without you hassling them, nothing would have happened would it?
Sad news of Panache but tbh I was fearing worse. Thank goodness they have help and support around them.
Just a quick pic of DGS in Merica where it seems to be a bit nippy .
I won’t complain about scraping the windscreen next time it is frosty here!

Charleygirl5 Thu 13-Feb-20 22:48:53

callgirl where on Lynne's arm is the fracture? At least something is being done about it now and the doctors in A&E should not be allowed to let this happen to anybody else.

I fell asleep watching TV earlier and Tara woke me up returning home earlier than usual. She has just appeared wondering why I am not making any effort to go to bed.

I would like a lie in tomorrow beyond 7 am- I must tell her.

Nannytopsy that cup cake looks seriously good- That and a cup of coffee now would set me in the right direction for a night's sleep.

callgirl1 Thu 13-Feb-20 23:48:30

CharleyG, when they first said it was broken, they said a fracture of the ulna, is that the lower arm? The brace is on her upper arm and shoulder.
Nannytopsy, that cupcake is a work of art, if it tastes as good as it looks...………………….!!

callgirl1 Thu 13-Feb-20 23:49:47

Clicked in error, meant to add that Flynn looks to be well wrapped up against all that cold.

chicken Fri 14-Feb-20 08:36:15

soop, forgot to say congratulations on the expected new GGC. Mila is such a pretty little girl; the way she is sitting reminds me that my own DD used to sit exactly like that---we called it the seal position.

Susan56 Fri 14-Feb-20 08:55:15

Lovely pictures of Mila and Flynn??and congratulations to soop and family on the expected new addition.
Soop, have a lovely weekend with your son and safe travels to you all.
Callgirl,so sorry about Lynne’s arm but glad that it is being sorted. We have seen the very best and the very worst of the NHS over the last twelve months.PALS are definitely the people to contact, they have been brilliant and so caring in helping my daughter.Hope Lynne’s pain is under control now.

Susan56 Fri 14-Feb-20 08:59:30

Today would have been our lovely Cavalier Harry’s 10th birthday??We miss him so much?we have had to delay getting our new puppy due to health issues at the moment but hopefully later in the year??

Urmstongran Fri 14-Feb-20 09:06:16

We used to have a Cavalier spaniel too Susan56 they don’t live to a ripe old age. Ours died from a heart attack when out on a late evening walk with my husband. He was only 9y and just fell to pavement. Such a shock for us but way to go for him.

A couple of years later we got 2 sister Cockers from a breeder. Such sweet natures. Long gone, 10y now, sad to say. I still have their name discs on my key ring.

MawB Fri 14-Feb-20 09:12:14

Oh Callgirl he is! (Warmly wrapped up, that is. They have been lent extra-padded and insulated top layers for him from friends in Minneapolis because frankly you’d never need it here)
Daytime temperatures have been as low as -19 , and nighttime (not that he is out at night, but DD can be, coming back from the theatre even lower, -28 ) I frankly can’t imagine that sitting here in balmy Bucks!

NanaandGrampy Fri 14-Feb-20 09:21:13

Morning all.

Its a crisp one here today but we are home all day so it can do what it likes out there , I don't mind !!

Urmaston and Susan I can totally understand how a Cavalier steals your heart and Sam send you both a darn good cuddle !!

I smiled at your post about the grandchildren Urmaston , I have dodgy knees too and that's the bit where I feel it after a day with the little uns' !!

ah yes , storm Dennis Charley , lets hope he's in and out in a flash as our young man is the outdoorsy type come storm Dennis or not lol.

Happy Day all!!

Enjoy your family time Soop !

Hope Lynn is feeling better soon Callgirl what a terrible and unnecessary thing to have had to go through.

Pass the cake NannyT - that's right up my street!

Susan56 Fri 14-Feb-20 10:01:54

Urmston??,what a shock for you but as you say good way for him to go.
Harry had a tumour on his pancreas and died within a few days of diagnosis which was a blessing for him really.
Nanaandgrampy, thank Sam for the cuddle,he’s a handsome boy?

Charleygirl5 Fri 14-Feb-20 10:08:37

Callgirl - the humerus goes from shoulder to elbow and then there are two bones, one the radius, the bigger of the two and the second is the ulna. They go from the elbow to wrist. It sounds as though the hospital has done a fantastic job by treating the wrong area. I do hope she gets sorted out today. If it is any consolation, the ulna is the best of the three to break!

Maw Flynn is having the time of his life in Merica and he will want to return annually I would think. I am pleased that cold weather is staying there-I can cope with 2C here but not much colder.

N&G Sam looks so content- he really is a lovely dog.

I watched the news while lying in bed this am. I do not usually do this and Tara was less than impressed. She has now gone outside.

I have come back to bed for an hour having had the third really bad night in a row and generally feeling grotty.
I am out for a meal tonight with my neighbour and must shake myself up.

News at last about the Panache’s but sadly not good.
I shall keep them in my thoughts.
So kind of the staff to let us know, it was unsettling not to know.

Callgirl I hope Lynne will be more comfortable after being seen, you are suffering as well.

When my H was suffering from Alzheimer’s, I felt like” be neither fish nor fowl”, neither a wife or a widow, I thought that would all change.
Sadly it hasn’t, I still can’t find a place, do others feel like this?

Galen Fri 14-Feb-20 12:16:42

Anm60 I know what you mean. It will be 17 years in spring since I was widowed and it’s worse now I’ve had to retire. Work at least kept me occupied.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 14-Feb-20 12:30:17

Callgirl your poor daughter, she must be in agony!!

Soop congratulations on the forthcoming GGC, how exciting.

Beautiful pictures of dogs, I was brought up with dogs in the house, it took till I was mid twenties for the Doctors to realise that I was so allergic to them and that was why I was in and out of hospital with my asthma so regularly. I would have dearly loved a dog in this house but it will never be.

I have just done two classes at the gym (half hour and then an hour) feeling extremely weary so off for a nice hot shower and a rest on the sofa.

Some beautiful photos for our kitchen gallery. Susan I've pm'd you.

callgirl1 Poor Lynne, what a shambles. We send her our very best get well wishes.

GrannyGravy13 Please share some of your super-woman energy with me. I am in dire need. wink

ann An evening with your good friend will help to lift your spirits. When I consider what you and Galen and Maw (and many other dear Granspals) I cannot put myself in your shoes. The very thought of not having MacSporran in my life is unbearable.flowers

Nannytopsy Your cupcake is a work of art. I bet it tastes utterly delicious. I have my best china plate with a starched paper napkin ready for the tasting of. wink

It's a glorious day. Hey ho...all change tomorrow. As long as the bus runs, we'll be on it.
