Whatever we need to share...feel free to join in.

Glad you’re feeling in better spirits ann.
Ann I am really pleased that you have your date and that it has cheered you up a bit. Do call the GP. Soop we should wrap you in cotton wool! Hope you feel better soon.
I’ve been to the seaside today and had lovely fish and chips. It was chilly in the wind but beautifully clear.
Looking forward to meeting with other Grans in York tomorrow. Will be interesting to see how the rivers are coping after the snow.
TOYA
soop, what a very nasty fall. A kiss from a Spanish doctor might have been some consolation (hmm). Paramedics are lovely people. I had some nice conversations when they had to pick me up (literally). I wonder if your GP can refer you to a falls clinic. Mine did and it was very useful. The consultant geriatrician who did it was reassuring and gave me helpful advice. Mind how you go and look after yourself.
ann, I'm delighted for you. Those four weeks will go by in no time. Then you'll be dancing! I hope you're right that the good weather will start at the end of the month. I think this winter has gone on long enough.
ann---so pleased that you have your hip operation date at last and hope that it helps to lift your spirits.
soop----ouch, I bet that fall hurt both body and pride. I hope the bruises aren't too extensive and painful. Get well soon!
Soop, sorry to hear about your fall. Stay resting for a while ands let MacS spoil you even more than usual. And TAKE CARE! x
Ann, so pleased that you at last have a date. You`ll be leaping about like a spring chicken in a few weeks!
Lynne has another appointment at the hospital fracture clinic tomorrow morning, we`re just hoping that the carer comes earlier, as requested. I`ve just booked the wheelchair accessible taxi.
Meant to say, GreyD and Alygran, lovely photos. Where was yours taken Alygran, if you don`t mind me being nosey?
Callgirl its Saltburn on the North East coast.
It’s fifty five years since I was in Saltburn (for a friend’s wedding). Nice photo Alygran - maybe it’s time I went back!
Perhaps wait for a warmer day GD. We nearly got blown away walking along the pier. Our lovely fish and chips provided essential ballast!
I’m glad you’re okay after that fall soop. ‘All shook up’ - so appropriate! x
Oh gosh what a lot I have missed after my busy week.
Izabella I am sad to hear you have been upset. You are one of the bravest people I know!
Syn I am excited for you and Ann now you have a date I hope things look up for you.
Soop I hope you are recovering.
So sorry to hear about your neighbour kitty.
We went to the hospital with DH on Monday. He has too many red blood cells so he had to go again today and have a pint of his blood replaced by saline.
Not the best of days as I had to see my oncologist at a different hospital so I put him on the hospital shuttle.
My oncologist thinks I could have blood clots in the lungs so I have had a blood thinning injection and will have a scan tomorrow after chemo. He has reduced the chemo by 20% as I have neuropathy but I have now had a port fitted.
Hey ho onwards and upwards only two more to go!
Meanwhile I spent the day at the eye clinic on Wednesday with a friend. They thought she had wet macular degeneration but it is a stressed retina which is treatable. That is good as her DH has dementia.
Sorry to all I have missed but I am thinking about you all. Very brave to give up GN for lent Maw.
TOYA
I`ve never been to Saltburn, it looks lovely.
We will miss you Maw - Easter Sunday seems a long way off! I trust you will be keeping an eye on us all here.
?
Topsy

soop - more water next time!
Seriously, please take care.
dragonfly I hope today goes well and the effects are no so bad. Nearly there! Hope they can sort out your lungs! Good news about your friend.
Hoping your plans go smoothly today callgirl.
Ann, I hope your appointment is making you feel more upbeat. And, I hope gd that you are 'getting there'.
Our daughter also has a very friendly fence, corner. Theirs is being sorted next week. They are having an expensive time as dd slid (elegantly, I'm sure) sideways down a hill and wrote their car off a couple of weeks ago. She was unhurt but it was a neighbour she hit which hurt her pride quite a bit!
I think DH's niece is leaving for a rented flat today. Mixed feelings here as I'd quite like our house to ourselves but she will be all alone 90 miles away!
I'm sure I have missed mentioning someone but I am TOYA.
Kitty sorry to hear your neighbor has died
Soop what are we going to do with you? It is hard to admit that we have to slow down and do things differently, maybe your body is telling you just that
dragonfly I hope all goes well with your chemotherapy and that you haven't got any blood clots
for anyone I have missed out.
We are on Granny duty until Sunday evening!
soop if I remember correctly you had a total hip replacement a while ago. Falling can loosen the prosthesis so please be mindful of that.
TOYA
I didn't know whether to share this or not but we all need a good laugh sometimes.
My Thursday friend and I went out for a cup of tea yesterday and she then took me to Simply Food for a few bits.
When we got out of the car she opened the boot to get a bag out and as they are downsizing she had a few things in there to call at the tip.
On top of the pile was a silver twiggy thing on a stand.
The woman at the next car said ,oh what a lovely ornament so my friend explained and she was very pleased to have it.
There was also a small folding tray/ table and she said oh that looks nice.
I jumped in with, oh I would like that please.
Where upon the woman said to my friend ,oh your mum wants that, she must have it.
My friend will be 79 in April, I can't imagine how old I must look.
I have the table and I love it, it is next to my sofa as I type.
Sorry Ann, but that’s really funny. She was obviously on her way to Specsavers after the tip.
ann I'm chuckling as I read your post.
Beautiful photos of sunny places. Spirit-lifting on this grey, damp, dismal day.
dragonfly I was upset to hear about both you and your husband's latest complications. We owe the NHs a huge amount of gratitude.
Charleyg Both hips have been replaced. I've fallen badly on five occasions since the surgery. I am very lucky. Both remain intact. One is beautifully bruised this morning. Egg on head is less obvious.
The manager of Tesco phoned yesterday evening to check up on me. I thought that that was very thoughtful.
Away to do a few minor jobs aboot the hoos. Because we visited the care home yesterday, instead of today, I keep thinking that it is Saturday.
Oh, soop!! hope you are feeling steadier this morning! xx
as it happens I was feeling a bit glum this morning too on account of my shoulder being achy. Then I had to ring the car insurance people to renew because they haven't been able to take payment yet. I've had a new card since the last one.
so I did all the chat and gave all the numbers and what not to the girl on the other end of the phone and then she said "you have a lovely rest of your day now" in a sweet accent. I repeated it in the same accent to MrBaggs saying I can't do Welsh very well and he said oh that's not so much welsh as special Cardiff. he's from Cardiff originally.
Perked me up good and proper, she did.
Good vibes, everyone! TOYA. Now to read everyone's news....
ann, that woman really needed an eye test. It reminds me of an incident when I was recovering from a hip replacement and my sister had come from Scotland to help out. A friend came in to see me, and asked, 'Is this your daughter?' My sister is a mere 4 years younger than me. Dear sister has never let me forget that!
Afternoon all .
its a rainy, cold day here and we have done our morning pop out and will be staying indoors now over the weekend.
Ann , glad to hear you have your op scheduled and I did chuckle at your shopping story . Ive seen your pictures and Ive never seen anyone look less their age so I think you can safely say the lady 'should have gone to Specsavers'!!
Hope your shoulder doesn't trouble you for too long Baggs .
Soop - what are you like ?? We cant have you falling over in shops !! More water with it please ;-p
NannyT great picture . Its such a lovely coastline . Are you on your holidays?
Dragonfly more buggerations are not what you need. Hope everything goes well.
Must dash - there is clonking around in the kitchen which can only mean Grampy is up to no good.
Back later xx
Baggs
N&G
I am in a grinny frame of mind.
Just popped in to say my scan was clear - phew.
So pleased to hear both Baggs and Ann are a bit chirpier!
