Just popped in to say ‘nanight’. It’s been a busy day. Blood tests done then called in at our youngest daughters who has acute sinusitis (so painful, got steroid nasal drops from her GP and looks washed out poor love).

Took our grandson to his swimming lesson at 5pm. The shower area and changing rooms are not for the faint hearted - it’s manic in there with shivering children, towels, coats and bags in proliferation. I’m pooped on our way out to the car!

Himself suggested a drink after we dropped him off home. What a good idea! I had 2 glasses of Pinot Grigio in a local wine bar - enjoyed it as first drink in 10 days. I’m trying to cut back.

Maw, they WOULD have taken it with them for "recycling" if pre-arranged, but at a cost of £55, but we want to try and sell it, it`s only 3 months old.

Back home from a succesful morning's ironing session. It really is wonderful to return to a pot of freshly brewed coffee and you lot.

I am hoping that poorly Grandspals and much-loved animals are showing signs of improvement. Hearing such news would make me even happier.

We've just heard that Brodie, the ginger feral cat that we were told was deceased, is in fact alive, and being fed by folk not that distant from us. I'm sooooooo chuffed.

Way to go, Brodie! No wonder you’re delighted, Soop. I have just been taken out for a lovely carvery lunch and now I am going to have to pay the price by being dragged off for a walk “around the lump” (it’s quite a big lump!). I will look in later.
Corner I have difficulty holding anything in my head even when there is nothing wrong with me! Hope you feel better soon!

Well I am veeling slightly less down today.
I have had a serious talk with myself and decided my hip will get done when it gets done.
I get up each morning expecting a letter inviting me for a pre-op assessmentEvery morning I am disappointed, I just wish Consultants wouldn't be so gungho, "Oh don't worry , we will get that done in February ".
I am in constant pain and so weary of it, I take painkillers (and laxatives) all the time but counting up today it has only been 8 weeks.
I am going to try and forget it until the letter arrives.
I hope others are feeling less fraught, I reall think some zunshine would lift our spirits.
Good news about Brodie, now we just want better news about Baker.

Hello all. We are back from a lovely, leisurely lunch with my stepfather. It was wonderful. Shared memories of mum, a dry busy pub (considering it was a Wednesday lunchtime!). The car park was busy.

At first we all assumed it was senior citizens days (wrong) or a lunchtime 2 meals for the price of 1 - often a tad disappointing, but wrong again.

The pub was busy, which was great as there was a lot of people-watching for my stepfather. He is 87y and doesn’t get out to eat so frequently these days. We have called it our ‘Wednesday Club’ and appointed him as club secretary (no pay sadly!) to keep notes of dates and places - plus ranking positions. It will be fun to look back over in the coming months we think.

Kettle’s on now, full tummies, crossword at the ready.

Oh and a jigsaw! When we dropped my stepfather off, he passed me this one. It’s of his village, Plockton, in the West Highlands where his house, which has been in the family since 1926, is about to go on the market. I shall enjoy doing it I think. I can’t recall the last time I did a jigsaw. Perfect I think for this time of year.

Over half an hour ago, I was about to read and respond to all the latest news. Well, our neighbour called by, and I'm now trying to catch up.

As I need to read through your messages properly, I shall log off for today and return tomorrow morning instead.

Lovely picture on the jigsaw. I haven't been in Wester Ross for half a century, but I remember Plockton. I think they recorded Hamish Macbeth up there.

Today Baker had the investigation of his nose and throat under anaesthetic. The vets couldn't find anything --no foreign bodies, no polyps, no visible tumours. They washed his nose through to try and get rid of the gunk which is completely blocking his airways and sent samples off to the lab. He was just waking up when they rang a couple of hours ago, so I'll get an update tomorrow morning. He's eaten virtually nothing for over a week. Thank you to all who have asked after him; it lifts my spirits.

I was really delighted to hear that Brodie is still alive. I can visualise that photo of him with his rather grumpy glare and his short ears---very endearing!

Phew. Too much happening to comment on all so will just say hello everyone.

I have a mountain of ironing here (Soop, I need you!!) I planned to get stuck in this afternoon, but just as I was starting one of my neighbours called round, and didn`t leave until nearly 5 pm, so the mountain will have to be tackled tomorrow.

Its bright but frosty here this morning so I am taking my time getting going. Ive had a couple of nights of very broken sleep thanks to a bout of cramp in my ankle of all places. Not once or twice either so I am not in the best form this morning lol

Sounds like you have given yourself a good talking to Ann , positive thoughts flying your way . Its hard to be positive when in pain but I'm sure that letter will be with you soon.

We popped out to take advantage of the blue sky day yesterday and did a walk round Pensthorpe ( we'll gloss over the homemade sausage roll we had to sustain us in the café lol ) . It was a glorious day but someone had stolen most of the ducks and replaced them with noisy seagulls !!

NanaandGrampy I take Magnesium tablets for leg cramps (including feet, ankles etc)
For me they are usually an indication of dehydration, aka red wine in the evening, but a handful, washed down with a large glass of water usually does the trick.
Flynn flew out to “Merica” with his Daddy yesterday to join DD in Minneapolis where she is working on a production.
Can you imagine the excitement!

chicken hope your poor pusscat starts to turn the corner soon, it is such a worry when they are so unwell as they can't tell you how they feel.

I have made an appointment for this afternoon to take Smokie to the v..e..t. as he has been projectile vomiting since late yesterday afternoon. I have tsken his food away as it was just coming straight back. He is clearly hungry so I am feeling mean when his big eyes are fixated on me but I think his tummy needs a rest. Perhaps it was somebody he has eaten!
