Good Morning Tuesday

I don't often comment on this thread but always read it. I am so sad to read of Oldgaijin's death. Thank you Emily for letting us know. So many of us had been keeping her in our hearts and prayers ever since her last post on here. Now I shall keep you in my prayers as you face the future without your mum xx

How thoughtful of Emily to let us know her sad news. We will all miss her mum’s brave and often amusing observations on life.

But yes, “life goes on”, and here it is bed changing and perhaps a foray into the garden which is full of snowdrops and hellebores as well as a flutter of assorted small birds in the feeders. Briefly, it feels as if spring is out there somewhere after what has felt like the longest January ever.

Thank you Emily for letting us know how considerate and kind she must of been proud to have a daughter like you. God bless her now and you?

Not a regular poster on this thread but I wanted to pass my condolences on to you Emily and your family, regarding the passing of your dear Mum oldgaijin. She will be greatly missed by all who knew ( either virtually or in reality) and loved her, including ‘the Mutt’ of course.

Emily, thank you so much for posting to tell us about your lovely Mum. Oldgaijin brought many a smile to us with her wicked sense of humour and posts about her walks with her mutt, Mojo. She very kindly sent me a recipe once for cranachan which was so kind of her. (It's delicious).

Thanks Emily for taking the trouble amidst your sadness to let us virtual friends know that Janet has gone.
I will miss her early morning romps with the mutt. She would go out in all weathers. She was a maker of things too wasn't she. In fact a remarkable person.

Sincere condolences to Emily on the loss of your lovely mum. Nobody would ever have known how ill she was because her posts never reflected how she must have really felt at times.

I used to enjoy hearing of her walks in the woods with " the mutt " who must have enjoyed the jaunts more so than she herself latterly and had realised towards the end that she was getting weary but kept on going. May she now rest in peace x .

I'm not a regular poster here either but wanted to say how sorry I am to hear the news about Oldgaijin. I did enjoy reading about her walks in the woods with 'the mutt' Mojo.

I rarely post on this thread, but always ‘peek’ in to enjoy everyone’s postings (including your lovely Mum). She was inspirational and very courageous.

I’m not a regular on these threads, either, but I am so sorry to hear about your mum, the lovely OldGaijin. I live in the shire, not so very far away from you and I have some daffodils coming into bloom on my kitchen table in her memory.

Your mum (and the mutt) will be remembered with great fondness here, by women right across the country, with daffodils in their windows, lighting candles in her memory and raising toasts in her honour

Dear Emily, Thank you for telling us. Your lovely mum wrote funny, evocative and entertaining posts. Big bosies to you and the mutt. I am going for a walk in my woods and to think of her and you and your family. I shall toast her after supper tonight.
