Hoping someone can help me, and that nobody thinks I'm too stupid (or at least doesn't say it!)

I have an email I need to keep, and I'm wondering where I can 'put it' and how.

I just have my phone, which deletes emails after a while.

Can I move the email somewhere where it will be safe, please?

Thank you! smile

As you seem to have made a screen shot above couldn’t you just do that, then it will be in your photos.

MissAdventure Mon 10-Feb-20 19:44:01

Apparently its very old!

I have an android samsung galaxy,
Open the email you need
Top right hand side is three dots
Click on three dots, there are a list of options, click on save as file

MissAdventure grin. I haven't bought anything......yet!

The screenshot you have shown is from the tabbs on the right of your phone.

Try opening up any email, look at the top left hand side of the screen and look for a vertical line of three dots, or -.
If you find that, click on them and see what happens.

For now, I have given up trying on to screenshot on my phone, I'm a PC girl. I nearly made 999 call in error! ?

MissAdventure Mon 10-Feb-20 19:48:17

I don't have the three dots..
I have a tab that says "more" and when I click on that it comes up as the screenshot I took.

MissAdventure Mon 10-Feb-20 19:50:27

All I have on the left is an arrow. When I click that it takes me back to all those unanswered emails again. angry

MissA try YouTube, someone will show you how to do it. Otherwise google may help.

MissAdventure Mon 10-Feb-20 19:56:40

I think i'll leave it for now, but thank you all so much for your help.
Tech gets me really cross!

Marydoll Mon 10-Feb-20 20:02:12

I have been on the Samsung Community Forum.
Some Samsung phones don't have the save email facility.
The advice is use a PC or tablet to save the email. This then auto updates the folders on your phone and you will then be able to access the saved email on your phone.

If it is a work's email, surely you would be allowed to do this at work or perhaps use a public library, as long as you know the password for your email account.

You must be finding this so frustrating and stressful. I hope you get it sorted. ?

I have to thank you, MissA, I have learned lots about the functions on my new phone. smile. Doesn't help you, I know!

Tech gets me frustrated too, patience maybe a virtue, but not one I posess grin

MissAdventure Mon 10-Feb-20 20:06:47

No chance to do it at work, I'm afraid.
I'm community based, zero hours, so its in my own time for training (and no pay!)

Well, I at least have learned not to keep flogging a dead horse, so thanks Marydoll.

Click o "move to" and store it in the archive

Marydoll Mon 10-Feb-20 20:19:06

Do you have a trusted friend, you could forward it to and they could print it out. Or, if they have a wireless printer, you can print it directly from your phone, without them seeing it. I'm not trying to blind you with tech, it's very easy to do, believe it or not.

I wish I could help you, I like to get my teeth into things like that, a bit of a sad person really.

MissAdventure Mon 10-Feb-20 20:25:06

Yes, I can think of someone I can forward it to, she is trustworthy. Does she need to be? Is it a risky thing, then?

Marydoll Mon 10-Feb-20 20:29:51

Know, I just meant in case the email was private you didn't want her to know your business.

Marydoll Mon 10-Feb-20 20:30:29

No, not know! It's been a long day. grin

MissAdventure Mon 10-Feb-20 20:31:50

Ah ok.
She works for the same company, and probably has the same email. smile

Thanks everyone for taking the time out to help.
Its very much appreciated.
