Money talks. Or hopefully not.

Most of the industry is operating unchecked. India's medical research watchdog drafted regulations more than two years ago, yet they still await presentation in parliament, leaving the surrogates and baby factories open to abuse.

Infant atatchment is distinct from "bonding" in terms of infant psychology.

An infant can "bond" with anyone.
Infants have an "attatchment" to their mother. The physical body that gestated and nourished them. Early separation has lifeling physical and mental health consequences. Attatchment theory is WIDELY accepted in medical and social care circles.... until a male gay couple or rich privilidged couple want a womb to rent then its ignored..
Thats why in postnatal psychosis, where the mother sometimes tries to kill the infant, they are taken in as inpatients together under close supervision while the mother is treated rather than separated temporarily, due to the long lasting damage to the child of early infant separation from their mothers.

How do you reconcile that with surogacy?

suziewoozie Sat 15-Feb-20 18:53:56

Really annie so there’s only one woman in this?

notanan2 Sat 15-Feb-20 18:56:33

Surogates often have their own children too so surogacy also affects:
Their daughters
Their son's view of women
The infant who may be a girl..
A male infants views of women as they grow after beinv a product of surrogacy
Siblings of the baby born in surrogacy

suzie. A woman can not conceive or cannot carry a baby

This is RWs FOURTH child..

Anniebach Sat 15-Feb-20 18:57:28

suzie the infertile woman + the surrogate woman = 2 women

Greymar Sat 15-Feb-20 18:58:20

siblings? 2 are from Mum and Dad, the other 2 are from rent a womb.

notanan2 Sat 15-Feb-20 18:59:14

Annie a lot of rich couples who use surogacy are not infertile...

notanan2 Sat 15-Feb-20 19:00:55

Kim Kardashian for example. Unusually open about her surrogacies

She didnt want another difficult pregnancy. She carried her first.

So she outsourced all the physical risk..
.. to someone less rich..

suziewoozie Sat 15-Feb-20 19:01:59

Yes I know not it makes it all the more reprehensible doesn’t it.

notanan2 Sat 15-Feb-20 19:02:51

trisher the areas of UK and abroad where legalisation has happened only made things better for the men, it made conditions worse for the sex workers

trisher Sat 15-Feb-20 19:04:30

Just as I expect there to be food standards so my food is of a good quality I would like to see standards for surrogacy. Unregulated it could like most things be dangerous

notanan2 Sat 15-Feb-20 19:04:37

Legalised brothels are not havens of safety and choice for women.

suziewoozie Sat 15-Feb-20 19:04:59

The other aspect here is the very short gap between the surrogates two pregnancies which flies in the face of all medical evidence in terms of what’s best for both mother and baby. Still I expect the gap suited the Williams’ social calendar

suziewoozie Sat 15-Feb-20 19:06:07

Serious question - why don’t men just masturbate?

Bibbity Sat 15-Feb-20 19:06:22

No I am not adopted.
Adoption is a trauma. That’s recognised.

www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-body/your-adopted-childs-health-needs/
* Children adopted from care will have experienced trauma and loss, even if they were adopted shortly after birth. Some may have additional needs resulting from physical, mental or emotional problems or disabilities*

No baby should leave it’s mother. That right there is a trauma.
They then get potentially get passed to a foster carer who they are then separated from. Trauma.

It’s traumatic. It has lasting effects.
Trauma isn’t always violence and there isn’t always a perpetrator.

It is traumatic.

But stop arguing like I’m saying adoption is a bad thing. I’m not.

It’s a necessity. It’s just sad that it has to happen.

What I am against is surrogacy and egg and sperm donation. These are exploitive and selfish to the potential children.

suziewoozie Sat 15-Feb-20 19:06:34

Or do they enjoy exploiting women?

trisher Sat 15-Feb-20 19:07:02

notanan2 possibly because the legislation was not made in conjunction with the sex workers and in many cases was made with little knowledge and less consideration.

suzie, thats awful. She must be unwell , surely?

I think they are a hateful predatory couple actually.

notanan2 Sat 15-Feb-20 19:09:40

Serious question - why don’t men just masturbate?

Because "boys will be boys" and prostitution is seen as inevitable sad

trisher Sat 15-Feb-20 19:10:20

Suziewoozie I think all sorts of men pay for sex. One of the shocking things I heard was on a police programme. That brothels and street workers were always busier on Thursday evenings because men brought their wives into town to shop and while they were busy paid a visit to a brothel

notanan2 Sat 15-Feb-20 19:10:46

Trisher, it was in the UK zones, and they turned out to be horrific for women
