I have just read this online and I’m very shocked. I can’t say I know much about her but watched Love Island last year. I know she’s been charged with assaulting her boyfriend but he was standing by her.

I just think it’s very sad.

I'm not sure if anyone else saw it, but Michael Portillo gave a very measured and well informed answer to the question about CF, the media and being kind on Question Time last night. He understood the complexities of being in the limelight as well as understanding the job of the CPS.

Ok... I wasn't aware she was breaking the conditions. What did she do that she wasn't meant to? And why didn't they take her back to prison in that case like they're meant to

May her poor traumatized soul be finally at peace.

Enough is enough , an ex boyfriend gave an interview, he is
going to release a private conversation they had

ReadyMeals Fri 21-Feb-20 22:05:58

omg... rip Caroline, if they let you...

notanan2 Fri 21-Feb-20 22:52:23

ReadyMeals she was sending him messages on Instagram

ReadyMeals Sat 22-Feb-20 12:20:32

Why didn't they enforce the conditions then? See they were already giving her favorable leeway, they probably couldn't go much further in trying to be considerate of her mental state without totally throwing out their own rulebook.

I doubt the police had the resources to check her online posts on a regular basis sadly

suziewoozie Sat 22-Feb-20 12:46:54

Or an irregular basis actually

suziewoozie Sat 22-Feb-20 12:47:57

I think the police would generally find out about breaches if the other party reported them.

notanan2 Sat 22-Feb-20 13:49:22

Reports of her breaching her bail and questions re why she was getting away with it where you or I wouldnt, was the public interest journalism which is now referred to as the "hounding" that #benice and CarolinesLaw want to ban...

notanan2 Sat 22-Feb-20 13:51:28

Public figures using their public forums to breach bail without consequence is not "bad" journalism..

ReadyMeals Sat 22-Feb-20 14:22:52

I guess it was kind of skimming just the right side of the law. If they were not mailing or messaging each other directly, but just publishing public entries that the other one could "happen to read" then it might be just scrape past the conditions. I still feel as if her death could and should have marked the end to her embarrassment, she wanted to avoid the shame of the court case, but somehow between her family, her friends, and the media, she's being dragged through it anyway.

Boyfriend called police because he thought she was going to kill him. She appeared to have cut her wrist, broken glass with blood everywhere. Police heard her threatening bf and footage of her being very aggressive at the police station. Of course she didn’t want the public to see this. The image we have of her is of a very attractive, vivacious successful woman. Alcohol destroys lives. She will be remembered for the very nice person she really was. It’s tragic.

notanan2 Sat 22-Feb-20 14:29:24

She wasnt always drunk when she was dating a teenager as a 30something and making comments about age not mattering on "family" shows.

Addiction is terrible. But it is PART of the person. Their actions are still theirs.

ananimous Sat 22-Feb-20 14:31:07

Boyfriend could be narcissitic ...
He could have manipulated her to meltdown
It's called the devaluation stage - peppered with limited, love-bombing.

He may have been undermining her confidence for a long time - look how cold he looks in the photos.

And his post was all me me me typical narc.

There's a lot more to this.

notanan2 Sat 22-Feb-20 14:31:16

Abusers arent just abusers when theyre drunk and lashing out. Theyre also being abusive when theyre sober and love-bombing and making their partner forgive them and come back for more because "that wasnt the real me"

ananimous Sat 22-Feb-20 14:31:58

The relationshit was toxic.

notanan2 Sat 22-Feb-20 14:35:59

CF had a history of toxic relationships.

Why are people reaching so hard for some sort of outside cause in this particular case?
It was the boyfriend, it was the booze, it was the media.

Is it because people dont want to admit to themselves that they LIKED an abuser? (Or at least their street persona)
Is it because people want to believe they can "spot a wrong un a mile off"?

ananimous Sat 22-Feb-20 14:38:11

When you know, you know. You know?

notanan2 Sat 22-Feb-20 14:39:27

If she was a frump with a downturned mouth dating teens, having neighbour disputes, violent clashes with partners, drunk & disruptive, aggressive/destructive behaviour at police station, it would be different IMO

ananimous Sat 22-Feb-20 14:41:07

Not a lot of sense.

ananimous Sat 22-Feb-20 14:41:33

Today.

notanan2 Sat 22-Feb-20 14:42:13

She was a neighbour from hell who could turn on the charm.

I had a neighbour who liked to date "barely legals". Everyone thought he was disgusting. But he wasnt particularly attractive or charming so I guess thats different ?

ananimous Sat 22-Feb-20 15:47:31

You seem legit.
