That is so often the type of response to “banter” which is no more or less than bullying.

Who said anything about SOH bypass? Who is being bullied? I'm naturally irreverent and some posters get that.

Well the comment by Jane10 - slagathon - really tickled me up?? I do love those posters with a sense of humour (and there are many) and those that don't take themselves too seriously!

The implication that those who have been upset must take themselves too seriously.

Och MawB we're all different on here. Some are sensitive and others, like myself, are obviously insensitive cows! There's room for all sorts.
Urmstongran made a brave effort with this thread but it's been slightly subverted by those of us who try not to take life or Internet forums too seriously.

I posted when this thread first started to say that MissAdventure is one of the funniest, quickest and sharp witted posters we have. She has a brilliant sense of humour and frequently makes me laugh out loud at her posts.

As for Marydoll, well, I've bent her ear with my woes on many an occassion and she still wants to be my pal!

Urmstongran I’ve just arrived at this thread and thought what a lovely idea to be positive and uplifting about each other but alas the same old names turn up ready to spoil things. I think it is impossible to carry out a thread like this as it will be sabotaged.

But in the spirit of the thread I want to state that Marydoll has made me laugh, been kind when I have been in the depths and is someone I can always turn to. Thank you Mary for being such a great contributor without a nasty bone in your body. ??

Lovely NanKate about Marydoll whom many of us feel the same about. She’s often struggling health wise but makes light of it (even though she shouldn’t as we who care about her are happy to listen).

I like lemongrove and appreciate her posts. A variety of moods emanante from this wise lady.

One of the things I really do appreciate about lemongrove is that she takes the thread seriously, as the OP originally meant.

This is a thread, for instance, is about being pleasant, not a difficult concept one would think and yet clearly the intention has sped by some posters.

If that concept is beyond understanding and you have no pleasant words to say, pass right along please and contribute to a thread where the concept is: "it's all about me".

And on St David's Day, I would like to wish all our contributors from that wonderful Land of Song, a very happy and peaceful day.

NanKate The rotten cads! I'm a "Newbie" so I can't think of to whom you refer, but have you thought of "naming and shaming" rather than rely on innuendo? That might frighten them off, unless they're pranksters with a sense of humour.

What would happen, Rufus is that the named and shamed would report the post naming them, and GNHQ would delete it and reprimand the person who posted it, as being a nasty and personal attack against a poor innocent persecuted soul who would claim to be "just joking" or "just expressing an opinion" or "I am new here and they are ganging up against me".

Those who pass the most aggressive remarks are often also the first to clype to teacher when someone hits back.

Elegran I think my post might be a bit too suttle, even for you! IF my name appeared on said list, possibly at the top through no fault of my own, I would never snitch, as evidenced on several occasions throughout my GN career!
I'm too easy going for my own good, but I would be most interested to see what names actually appear! Whose going to post them? If nobody is game, then they might as well shut up!
Btw; what's "clype" Scottish for?
